It was a boring day. The Lily Pad had been, for the most part, dead. Al wondered if it was the crappy economy, or maybe the crappy weather that was keeping people out of the stores that day, but they had only a few drifters in and out, and no more than four people browsing at a time. She had stayed behind the counter working on homework here and there, which she was grateful her boss let her do when it was dead and there didn't need to be anything done, like stock or inventory or folding.
Folding was by far the worst part of her job. Cass wasn't really anal, but when it came to folding she liked things to be done just so, and then people came in and opened the folded shirts, looked, folded them wrong and then set them on top of the pile. That had to be Al's biggest pet peeve. She needed to wait until they were gone to go over and fix their mess because she knew if she didn't Cass would come out, see it, ask her to do and possibly remind her to do a sweep of the store and make sure everything was put away right. That's what she was getting paid the big bucks for, wasn't it?
No that there weren't perks! Any time she needed anything Cass was always eager to help. She had designed her an awesome purse with extra compartments for all the weird things she liked to keep stowed in her purse, like art pens and books. It even had a place for her mp3 player so that the earbuds slid though a little opening, making it safer to listen to her music as she walked. Plus the fabric was adorable! It was chic, by all standards, and Cass hadn't charged her a thing. The job wasn't always sunshine and rainbows, though. Since Cass catered to a more elite part of the population, her customers were often snooty and condescending, but nothing Al couldn't handle. It was a job, after all, and it paid what she needed it to, and her boss was awesome.
Al tapped away on the computer keyboard and looked at the wanted ad she had posted earlier in the day, explaining they were seeking another employee. She knew that Cass wanted a man to join their "team", and still thought it was a bad idea. Getting even with her foxy husband seemed petty. Cass was better than that! They had gotten a few dozen views and even a handful of online resumes, but none of them were men.
"Cass?" She called out as another application came floating into the inbox. "I'm going to send you another resume in your email to look at later. No guys yet." She hazel eyes moved to the little clock on the monitor and she pursed her lips. "Oh and hey, this is your ten minute warning until you have to leave for Lilly's appointment." There were so many things for her boss to keep track of, she didn't always remember when she had to run out the door. Cass was always busy it seemed, even when Aly had some down time. If she wasn't ordering stuff or designing stuff, she was on the phone with the production companies haggling and yelling or making deals or whatever it was she did. She was an awesome role model for Al, too. She wished she had the drive to make her dreams come true like her boss who wasn't terribly older than she was. Maybe one day..

If Cassidy wasn't doing one thing she was doing another! There was one thing that she didn't like about running her own business, and that was the stressful long hours and all the things she had to take care of! She loved to design her clothes though, and she didn't want to sell her line to someone else who would end up making money off of her creativity. It was her thing and even though the economy was dwindling at the moment, she was determined to keep everything running! "No, I told you that I needed that shipment in by Tuesday. Is today Tuesday? No, it's Friday! I've called everyday for four days and you have yet to give me the fabric I requested!" She shouted from the back room of the Lilly Pad, talking to one of the many manufacturing companies that they bought their bulk supplies from. "No don't you dare put me on ho-- UGH! He put me on hold!" She shouted and hung up the phone, sitting down on one of the swivel stools and placing her head in her hands with her elbows planted on the table in front of her. It had been a very long day and she'd forgotten all about her daughter's appointment! Luckily, she had hired such a wonderful employee, Aly.
"Shoot! Ten minutes? That's not enough time to call them back. You know what? I'm cancelling that damn order and we're moving our business elsewhere!" Cassidy got up and stormed her way out of the back room and slammed her hand down on the counter, looking straight at Aly with frustration showing on her face. Of course she wasn't frustrated with the girl, and she knew Aly knew that. Aly had been her best employee so far and she definitely wouldn't do anything to jeopardize that.
"I've had it up to here with these companies not shipping what I order when I order it." She told Aly and then took a deep breath and started to pace around a little bit. "Okay, time to take a breather. Can't be going to the doctor in this mood. He'll end up giving me a prescription for something." She said and looked at Aly again and her mood lightened a bit at the thought.
"Another application? And they're not male, you said? Come on! There has to be someone who wants to work here. Maybe change it to say something like.. clothes model! I don't care, just get someone in here!" Cassidy was starting to not want to get a hot guy working there after all the haggle and time it was wasting. Not that Cassidy was doing it, but she figured Aly would rather do something else instead of put in wanted ads.
"You've been working pretty hard lately and I'm really sorry to put this on you, but would you mind staying late again tomorrow night?" She felt bad and her face fell a bit telling Aly the bad news. "I know you have a life and all, but Sally just quit and my hands are tied. Carter has an early meeting on Sunday and I told him that I'd be home to watch Lilly tomorrow. I'm willing to give you time and a half for the whole day?" She offered hoping Aly would take it. She was down to just Aly lately. She didn't think she was a hard boss, but when her employees stood around chatting and left clothes a mess and refused to help the customers that was when she had to put her foot down and give them a talking to. And they obviously didn't like it. But Aly wasn't that way. She did what Cass asked on the first time and she did it right.
She was going to be cutting it close for Lilly's appointment, and she knew it. It was already growing dark but lucky for her Lilly's doctor was open late. Not to mention with daylight savings time it did get darker earlier during the colder months. So even though it was getting dark it was still fairly early. "Okay I've got what, five minutes? Carter better have her fed and in clean clothes or so help me I'm going to strangle that husband of mine!"

The first time Cass had come out of the back and slammed her hand on the counter, Aly had jumped. The second time she was startled, but by the third time she half expected it. Now she hardly heard it. She simply turned her body to give her boss her attention, knowing Cassidy liked an audience when she went off about the incompetent manufacturers she worked with. She couldn't blame Cass for going ballistic, they were pretty aggravating. She herself had called a couple of times for Cass and they had always been hellish.
"Okay I've got what, five minutes? Carter better have her fed and in clean clothes or so help me I'm going to strangle that husband of mine!" Aly made a mental note to call Cassidy's husbands cell and give him a heads up that she expected these things. She knew that wasn't part of her job, but she didn't like Cass coming in and going on about how lazy her husband was. It was repetitive and Aly had to smooth things over. She hated to admit it but Cass could be scary when she ranted. Not that she herself was scared of Cass, because she wasn't. She was used to girls acting this way considering she was a cheerleader and hung around girls like this all through high school, but to those who were unaccustomed to the rants and tantrums they could be a bit scary to witness. Plus she felt bad for Cassidy's husband sometimes. Sure, if the stories were true then he was a complete ass, but she liked to give him the benefit of the doubt because he had always been polite to Aly when he'd come to the store, and she appreciated that. Not to mention he was easy on the eyes.
"Clothes models. Got it." She turned to the computer and messed with the ad while Cassidy continued to talk. "You've been working pretty hard lately and I'm really sorry to put this on you, but..." The words made her heart sink. She knew what was about to be asked of her and she turned to her boss and raised her brows. She couldn't say no. Truth be told she needed the money and it wasn't like she was planning to do anything but study, and when she mentioned time and a half she gave a sigh and nodded.
"Yeah.. yeah I can work late, I just have to get some studying done, so if it's okay can I bring my books for when there's a little down time? I won't let it get in the way of work and I won't ignore the customers." She promised.

By morning Prestine was over being angry at Sebastian, a least temporarily. She was still ticked with him and thought his behavior was uncalled for, but she didn't want to rip his throat out anymore. Spending the evening with her very alive Kitten was enough. She had to console him for a bit, since he had been tormented so severely by Sebastian and he was weak willed and weak minded. She sort of liked playing the role of savior. It put him in a place of gratitude and he certainly showed her gratitude last night! She thought maybe she would try angering her brother more often, but she knew Kitten got off easy last night. Sebastian wouldn't always walk away with her pets unharmed, and he certainly wouldn't do it a a favor to her. Sebastian wasn't one for granting favors, not unless he was expecting a return on his generosity.
She decided that instead of bringing someone to him, which would be awfully difficult to do since no woman was stupid enough to blindly follow her home to her brothers arms, she decided she would take her brother out, only she wasn't much in the mood for partying. Plus she knew he wouldn't let her off the hook for simply going to a party with him so she had to be sneakier than that. She had been to a store the other night and had noticed a help wanted advertisement. Prestine herself didn't care to find a job but sh knew there were two very pretty girls who worked there and perhaps Sebastian could go in on a whim, filling out an application and talking to the women. He was charming enough when he wanted to be. It would take no time for him to get one of those trollops to come home on his arm. Store clerks were easy prey considering how dense they were.
"Maybe you'll actually get the job." She teased playfully, practically skipping down Peanut Street with Sebastian in tow. "Wouldn't that be something? You could buy me pretty things and fuck your silly co-workers after hours! Everyone wins!" She chirped as if this would be perfectly acceptable behavior. Prestine had no sense of what was and was not acceptable behavior, since she did as she pleased, pretty much whenever she pleased.
"Theere it iisss." She sang as she went into the store, grinning at the two saleswomen behind the counter. There was a cute brunette and a cute blond. He had asked for a blond, but this way he could choose. It was like deciding between chicken and steak! "Let's get some lunch after this." She said, realizing he might not be leaving with her. "I can go for a steak."

Even though she had to study and do some of her classwork, Alyson still agreed to come in and work for Cassidy. Cass couldn't believe the dedication this girl had and because of it she liked to reward her as much as she possibly could! She liked to make her gifts or pay her overtime if she could. And lately with a lack of employees and a very busy clothing store, Cassidy definitely had the money to dish out to Aly. "You can turn the back into a library if that's what you want to do. And if its slow you can even lock the door and make the store your personal study hall if you want! I just have a shipment that is suppose to be here tomorrow night coming. Once it comes then you can even go home if you want."
Cassidy never told this to any of her former employees because she didn't find them very trustworthy. She had one who helped her out but then she buckled under pressure and had to leave. The Lily Pad wasn't exactly that stressful of a job but apparently it was for someone who had a history of an anxiety condition. Cass gave Alyson a friendly, genuine smile and reached for her keys since she was about to make her way out of the store. "I trust you. I just want you to know that. I know that the store is in good hands with you." She knew Aly wouldn't let her down. She had a good feeling about her the first time that she met her at the little outside booth that had been set up for the festivities.
"Okay! I have to head out and get Lilly and bring her to the doctor. She's going to be such a brat tonight I just know it." Cassidy let out a sigh and shook her head, snatching up her keys and her purse. "You've got my number and you have Carter's if you need anything. And I'll see you tomorrow."
She was getting ready to head out from behind the counter when she saw two potential customers come in. Probably a couple just browsing around since she didn't see any children with them. They more than likely just wanted to look around and dream about their future children. Cassidy had done that a few times when she was pregnant. Only she never had to buy something since Carter's sister was buying Lilly things before they even knew that she was going to be a she.
"You got this, right?" Cassidy wanted to be sure she wasn't leaving Aly unprepared. And if she needed help with these two then Cass would stay and try her best to take care of them as quick as possible. She wasn't great at getting rid of customers that easily unless she was angry and screaming at them bluntly to get the hell out. But there was a first time for everything and she was willing to try if Aly didn't want to handle the couple.

Sebastian had gone into his stone slumber in a drunken stupor when the sun rose into the sky declaring a brand new day. He'd polished off the rest of the bourbon that they had in the house, drinking as a solution to the boredom that had overwhelmed him since he had nobody to entertain him in the late hours of the night. His sister had seen to that.
When the sun went down the next night and Sebastian was free from his monstrous, marble prison he had been sure to find Prestine before she could sneak off without him. She had made a deal with him; find fresh meat for the male gargoyle to replace the one that she had killed, and he would leave her precious little "kitten" to live another day.
They strolled down Peanut Street together, Sebastian in his custom altered dark grey peacoat. His hands were stuffed into the pockets that were slits on the sides of the coat to keep his hands warm in against the chill of the night. They hadn't been awake for long when they decided to go on their little treasure hunt.
When they came up on the fashion store he peered into the windows and his lips curled into a bit of a snarl. It was mainly a children's clothing store. Was his sister expecting him to take home someone who had children? Not that he hadn't before, but he found them the dullest type of women. All they ever talked about was their children and that was not what Sebastian wanted to hear when he took someone home with him. He wanted to hear about him. That's when he too noticed the hiring sign in the window.
"You expect me to pretend I'm looking for a job to find someone?" Sebastian didn't want to spend the night applying for a position he had no intention of ever filling. It would be a waste of a perfectly good night. Or at least that's what he thought before he walked in the door and saw the two women standing behind the counter.
"Now that's more like it." He said under his breath so that only his sister could hear him as his eyes landed steadily on both the blonde and the brunette. A menage a trois sounded like a fantastic idea and it had been a while. Although he noticed that the brunette had a set of keys jangling in her hand and a purse slung over her shoulder. If he was lucky she was just arriving and hadn't set her things down yet. Or it could go the other way and she was leaving. He figured he'd find out soon enough.
His eyes panned over and fixated on the blonde with the curly hair next. Her hair looked like it would be fun to pull on and mess up those curls. They seemed to bounce as she moved and he found himself thinking he could watch them all night long. But just for one night, then he would get tired of them and would want something fresh. He had said he wanted a blonde and Prestine might have managed to deliver. He still had to go talk to her first and see if she was as interesting as she looked.

Aly wasn't sure why Cass would need her there if she was allowed to shut the door down, until she mentioned she needed to get a box. "No, I'll keep the store open. Yah know... so you can generate some revenue to pay me time and a half." She said in a slightly teasing voice.
"I trust you. I just want you to know that. I know that the store is in good hands with you." The joking smile on her face eased into something like a genuine, bashful grin. She knew that Cassidy trusted her, but it was nice to hear. She had never worked for someone so laid back, and better, someone who truly valued their employees. She worked hard for Cass, as hard as one could work at a clothing store, and did favors for her on a personal level at times. It was nice to be recognized and appreciated for this and she gave a little nod and a "Thanks."
Though she was unintentionally a bitch to most people, it was rare she was to Cass, and when she was it was always taken jokingly because Cass was the same way. If she wasn't Aly's boss, she would have been her friend. Not that she wasn't her friend, they were sort of friends, but she would have chosen to hang around the other girl if work hadn't brought them together.
When the brunette mentioned she had to run Aly nodded and stood up, getting ready to greet the customers who were coming in and let them know she could help them. "You got this, right?" Al snorted and nodded. "Didn't you just tell me you knew the store was in good hands with me? Yes. I got this. I'll catch you later." She waved her boss off and looked at the two customers before grabbing the phone and dialing the number she knew to be Cassidy's husbands cell, which went to voicemail. "Hey Carter, it's Al from the Lilly Pad. Just...wanted to give you a heads up that Cass is coming and she's in a hurry and...you know how she can be in a hurry so I thought I'd, yah know, warn you so you could have Lilly all ready to go. Ok... that's it. Uh.. Bye." She hung up wrinkling her nose and feeling like a tool, but she did it for Cass!
Her hazel eyes panned to the couple in the store and she breathed out a long breath before wandering over. "Hey guys, welcome to the Lilly pad. Can I help you find anything tonight?" She asked politely, leaning on the balls of her feet as she rocked a little, her hands folded tight across her belly, a nervous sort of habit she had acquired since she wasn't exactly comfortable talking to strangers.

"You expect me to pretend I'm looking for a job to find someone?" The words didn't phase her in the slightest and she replied with a very simple, upbeat "Yes.". Prestine wandered into the store with Sebastian and started looking around at all of the things that were hanging from racks. She had to admit that if she had a baby she would totally shop there. There were some nice things! She picked up a frilly skirt made for a toddler and held it to her chest. "This should come in my size!" She bubbled with a laugh.
"Now that's more like it." Her attention went back to her brother a she realized he saw the bait. He was so easy to please visually. Anything with a nice set of tits and ass would do, really. She'd even seen him settle for butter faces before! She knew he would just take those ones from behind.
His eyes watched the girls like they were prey and hers moved back and forth between them all. She could practically read Sebastians mind; he wanted them both simultaneously. He had that hungry look in his eyes and she knew it wouldn't be long. The brunette began to scurry away and the blond was on her way over. Prestine put the skirt back on the rack and grinned pleasantly at the young girl. "Hey guys, welcome to the Lilly pad. Can I help you find anything tonight?"
"As a matter of fact you can!" She chirped, looking to her brother. "I'll go make myself scarce for a bit." She suggested, wandering away from the other two and letting Sebastian do his thing. She would hang around the store to make sure things took off, because if they didn't she would be forced to help him find someone else if she wanted her darling Kitten to survive another night.

Sebastian was definitely ready to pretend that he was a hopeless sap who needed some small time job in a clothing store if that's what he had to do in order to spend enough time with the ladies and get them interested in him. He could get them interested in as little as five minutes. That's all it usually took. Then again, most of the time the girls were already intoxicated inside of a club. So he figured it would take him a solid ten minutes with someone sober.
Then he saw the brunette heading out the door to leave him just the blonde. Although it would have been more fun with two, at least it was the blonde who stayed. He normally chose women with dark hair who seemed to have a dark essence to them. But every now and then he preferred someone a little lighter. And the blonde definitely had that feel to her.
His eyes darted over to his sister, wondering what she intended to do now. "I'll go make myself scarce for a bit." It seemed that he got his answer quickly and he didn't waste anymore time watching his sister but instead turned his attention to the blonde as his lips slowly curled up into a sly smile.
"I saw your sign outside. I hope you're still hiring." He said in his smooth voice, his hands still deep into the pockets of his coat. Sebastian tilted his head to the left a bit and watched the girl, looking into her eyes but noticing her hands around her stomach. He'd seen a lot of girls in his life and he knew that whenever someone put their hands in front of them in any kind of mannerism like she was doing in that moment it meant they were either nervous or insecure. She didn't look like the insecure type to him so he figured it was just nerves.
He didn't notice any sort of name tag to tell him her name, which would have been a plus. He found it a hassle when in a store and not only did they not have a uniform but no name tags as well. Not that he ever asked for assistance, but it did help when he needed to try and charm someone. "Where do I apply?" He asked as he raised his brows a bit, trying to give his best charming look possible. His sister would make him do all the work.

Aly looked from the boy to the girl to the boy again as the girl walked away. She raised her brows at him curiously, unsure exactly what he was going to say. Maybe he needed help finding something for the girl? "I saw your sign outside. I hope you're still hiring." That as not what she expected him to say at all. Her brows furrowed as she tried to figure out if she heard him right. What would a guy like this want to work in a store like this for, she wondered. "Wheredo I apply?"
Aly shook the look off her face realizing she was being rude. "Oh, uhh... yea! We're definitely still hiring." She said, still in a little bit of shock as she nodded her head towards the checkout counter. She went behind it and pulled an application out and then slid it across to the boy with a pen, looking him over. He just seemed so out of place. He didn't even give off a gay vibe! And he was definitely attractive enough, that was for sure.
"Do you have an retail experience?" She asked a little awkwardly, not used to doing any sort of interview type questions. "Even if you didn't I actually don't think it matters. The boss, who you actually just missed, is actually sort of looking for a guy. Thinks it'll make her hus..." The girl suddenly pursed her lips and furrowed her brow again, shaking her head. She shouldn't be giving information like that out! What the hell was wrong with her? "We're looking for diversity on our team." She saved with a little nod as her arms folded over her chest. She gave the guy a once over. "This... is going to sound a little weird and awkward but... she did mention hiring male models today. I mean.. you have, like, a models build or something, so... yeah, anyway.. uhh.. if you have any questions just let me know. My name's Al. Or.. well it's Alyson or Aly or... just... okay." She gave a nod and turned away, making a face to herself. What the hell was that?!

He caught the shock on the girl's face. If only she knew how accurate it was. She looked like she couldn't believe someone like him would come into that store in hopes of a job. In fact, he wouldn't be caught dead working in a store like this one. But he could play the role, since Prestine was clearly too lazy to actually get someone for him and he had to do the work himself. But he didn't mind. He liked to role play every so often, though it was more his sister's thing than his. And right now he was playing the role of a desperate twenty something year old trying to find a job in such a poor economy!
Sebastian followed the girl to the counter and stood in front of it while she went behind it to get an application. He spotted a little holder with a few random pens in it and took the cap off of a blue on and placed it on the end so he could use it to write on the application. Name: Bastian Davenport. He thought of writing something silly like Smith but he wasn't in the mood to pretend his name was something else. Age: Hmm.. Twenty-four He scribbled, filling it out but only partially paying attention to it. He wasn't twenty-four at all. But it worked.
When she asked if he had any retail experience he was about to say that he hadn't but she kept talking and didn't give him the chance. "Even if you didn't I actually don't think it matters. The boss, who you actually just missed, is actually sort of looking for a guy. Thinks it'll make her hus..." Hus? It clicked. The brunette not only was the boss but she had a husband. He let the girl continue her little rant before he looked up from the application.
"She thinks it'll make her husband jealous?" He was able to put the pieces together. There was no other reason why they would be hiring a male for such a feminine shop, he figured. He put his finger up to his lips playfully as if to shush her but he spoke softly. "I won't tell her if you won't. It can be our little secret."
He continued to fill out the application, only glancing at it every so often. "So Aly. What do I have to do to make sure I get the job?" She had mentioned him looking like he was a model and he'd gotten that quite a bit in the past. He loved compliments and so far this girl was definitely on the right track.
"You think I'm a model? How about you? I'm sure you're very photogenic." He figured it would be best to start with a compliment to her in return. Women loved it when you talked them up. Sebastian was great at that. "Especially with those curls."

She was a little surprised he knew what she had started to say, not that it would be that hard to figure out, and she felt like a total ass for it. "I won't tell her if you won't. It can be our little secret." Came his smooth reply as his fingers went to his lips. Al tried not to show her disgust at the move. It was kind of creepy, being shushed like that, like she was some sort of kid or something. "..Okay. Uh..thanks." She said softly feeling a little uneasy. But she would have to give him the benefit of the doubt! Maybe he wasn't that bad. She'd seen boys like him, though. Confident, attractive young guys. Cass would think he was perfect.
"So Aly. What do I have to do to make sure I get the job?" She looked back up at him and began to roll her shoulders. She didn't have a real answer to that. She couldn't really say he would probably get it whether or not he was trying simply because he was a good lucking guy around the boss's age. Carter would flip out if he came in and saw this guy folding baby dresses, especially with his attitude. He came off as being one of those charming sorts, sort of like Cassidy's husband.
"You think I'm a model? How about you? I'm sure you're very photogenic. Especially with those curls." Her hands instinctively went to her hair, somehow wishing she could hide it now tat someone was calling attention to it. Her just turned a gentle pink at the compliment and she shook her head, unsure what sort of game he was playing. He's trying to butter you up to get the job, she thought to herself.
"Nope." She said easily giving her head a little shake. "Just a girl working her way through college. Modelings not my thing." She said a little more confidently now, not sure she liked this bozo. It wouldn't be fun closing with him, that was for sure. She gulped and pulled a box out from under the counter of shirts that needed to get folded, though they didn't need to be done until tomorrow evening since they weren't supposed to get put out for a couple more days when the new line was to be displayed.
"Look, the best way to get this job is to just be yourself. Cass is real cool. That's the boss. If you're really that interested she'll be able to tell and you'll get the job, no problem. I have nothing to do with the hiring process so your compliments really won't help you out." She shrugged, folding the shirts and making a pile on the back counter, hoping this guy would hurry up so she could study instead. She had an exam tomorrow afternoon and the more cram time she got, the better!

This one was definitely feisty in her own way, Sebastian thought. He held the pen in his hand hovering it just above the piece of paper but not writing anymore. His eyes were instead on the girl and he leaned into the counter and tipped his head towards her so that he had to look up in order to see her. "Am I bothering you?" He asked her in a smooth tone before he dropped the pen on the counter.
"I could leave. You'll have a tough time finding another male who would work in this type of store." Sebastian knew this was true. He wouldn't be caught dead in a job to begin with but this definitely took the cake.
He was starting to not like this role anymore. It was boring and he was going to be sure to give Prestine a good scolding about being lazy. It was unflattering and Javier was going to be the one to suffer for her lack of trying. Why couldn't she have taken him to a club? Cloud Nine was usually crawling with lonely women who were starved for attention from a male companion. At least there he could convince them to accompany him to the Silent Stone where he could do what he pleased. That place was crawling with his type.
Sebastian glanced up to a clock on the wall and noticed that three minutes had already passed and he wasn't making much progress just yet. Maybe he should just act like himself and stop pretending to be subtle. Subtlety wasn't a quality that he possessed or even found redeeming.
"Here's an idea. How about we ditch this place and go somewhere a little less.." He looked around the store and raised his brows before his features stiffened with disgust, trying not to let it show too much. "..pink."

"Am I bothering you?" Alyson looked up to see the young man looking directly at her, her already large eyes going a little wide with surprise. She wasn't expecting that. Her lips parted so she could say something, but no words came out. He was an odd one, that was for sure. "I could leave. You'll have a tough time finding another male who would work in this type of store." At this her eyes narrowed slightly. "Oh?" She commented, knowing what he said was true but not wanting to let on. She wanted to tell him he was welcome to leave, and nearly did, but she knew for certain that if Cass caught wind that a man had come in to fill out an application and she let him slip away that she would go ballistic, even if she explained he was an arrogant pain in the neck.
Alyson suddenly found herself in a strange predicament. Her nature was to brush off guys like this. It's what she'd been doing her whole life, and this guy was seriously begging for an eye roll, but for once she truly had to hold back for the sake of someone else.
"Here's an idea. How about we ditch this place and go somewhere a little less....pink." This actually did make her roll her eyes a little. Aly shut her book and moved it aside, folding her arms on the counter and leaning down on top of them, pushing a little cleavage up unintentionally.
"Okay, first of all? The store is a little too pink, you're right, but it's not obnoxiously pink." She explained as if she somehow had to defend the store that she worked at. Since when was she loyal towards the Lilly Pad? "And second, even if I wanted to, which I don't, I can't exactly leave right this minute because, yah know, I'm sort of the only one on the clock and we're still technically open." Her eyes moved around the store and her nose wrinkled, "Even if it is sort of dead at the moment.." she added under her breath.

Sebastian didn't like being turned down. Not one bit. But he was willing to give the girl another chance.
"Okay, first of all? The store is a little too pink, you're right, but it's not obnoxiously pink."
He leaned against the counter and had to look up because of the position he was in to look at Aly. Raising a brow at her curiously and letting his lips play in a little grin he watched her and scoffed as if what she said was ridiculous. The store was too pink. Plain and simple. Why did little bratty children have to wear so much pink all the time? He didn't remember Prestine wearing that much pink when she was a little snot nosed brat. She was still a brat but she'd grown out of the snotty nose stage at least. Which was a good thing or he'd have to lay plastic everywhere. It was disgusting.
"Now when I'm hired, wouldn't it be better if we're already familiar?" He asked in a taunting tone as he slid his hands across the counter and stood upright once more. He'd long forgotten about the application that he'd pretended to fill out, and he'd also lost site of his sister. She was probably on the other side of the store. Out of sight out of mind. He could care less at the moment.
Aly began to talk again and Sebastian thought that every time the girl opened her mouth it was plain and dull. She wasn't flirty and she didn't have anything interesting to say to him. He was going to lose interest in this game quick and he'd force Prestine to take him to a club where he could just grab a random drunk bimbo to bring home for the night. "Even if it is sort of dead at the moment.." Again, nothing that interested him.
He decided to give it another shot before he changed tactics, knowing that if he changed tactics then Aly was going to be in for a very bad night. "Then let's stay here and have a party. What do you say?" He tried to coax her a little as if that would make her change her mind. He was betting it wouldn't.
"What's the matter, you're too stuck up to spend time with someone like me?" He decided to ask as his upper lip curled a bit in a sneer, although he tried his best not to make it seem like he was growing impatient and temperamental. He tried to play it off as a joke even though he meant it. She did seem like a snobby little bitch.
