"Welcome to the Blue Scallop, how many will be in your party for tonight?" The man was dressed nicely in pressed dress pants and a tasteful tie. His shirt was dry-clean only and a grey that had a bit of a shimmer to it.
Trenton thought that the host was always over dressed. It might have been a nice, elegant place to get a few drinks or an overpriced meal to impress a date but he was there alone. He was wearing a pair of dark jeans and a dark shirt that clung to him in certain spots that although it might have looked nice, it wasn't the most comfortable of clothes. Not that he had a lot. Living on top of City Hall you didn't have a closet of clothes at your disposal. You had a small selection when you were a Guardian. Being a Gargoyle was a lot like being in the military. The Guardians were the Marines, while the Politicians were the Army. The Guardians received the Politicians' old, used items unless they wanted to get their own place.
"Just one, please." Trenton never came here with anyone. He'd think the host would know this by now, and yet he asked every time. Maybe it was just his job to ask to be sure not to upset anyone. People were sensitive in this day and age.
The host looked down at his dry erase seating chart and then turned at the hip to look and see what he had available. "All I have available right now is that table over by the window if that's alright with you." He looked over to where the host was pointing and he nodded his head. "That's fine with me." He wasn't picky. He just didn't feel like going to the Silent Stone tonight. He didn't exactly fit in there the way the others did. He didn't fit in anywhere, really.
Just as the host was about to seat him, the door swung open and another person stepped inside. "I'll be right with you. There is going to be a forty-five minute wait, though." The host said as they passed the person. Trenton looked up to see it was someone to looked to be alone, and feeling sort of bad for arriving before this person he decided to try and do something nice. "If it's just you then you can share a table with me. I'm not expecting any company." Trenton offered towards the stranger, not sure if they were in a hurry. After all, the night was still young.
