Claire didn't want her food to get cold, so while the chatter went on at the table she kept taking bites of her meal. She made sure they were small enough bites so if she had to say anything she could without acting like a fool with a mouthful of fish. Because there was nothing attractive about that!
"This is going to go great!" She said trying to make it light of the situation and clapped her hands together. Her sister was making sure that Griffin knew that if he didn't make sure nothing happened to her that Cheyenne would tear him to pieces and probably eat him. Of course that wasn't the exact words that she used but still. Claire knew it was what she meant. And it was a little embarrassing having Cheyenne say that. As if Claire couldn't take care of herself. Sure, she was awkward and nervous and socially incapable of holding a conversation without a breakdown, but she could handle her own.
"I'll be fine." Claire rolled her eyes and emphasized the 'fine' as she did so. "I can take care of myself just as much as you guys can handle your own." Claire had her own way of handling tough situations.

Griffin looked around at the girls. the general consensus was things would work out and if they didn't they would somehow make it so it did. It wouldn't be the end of the world if they failed because they could always try again and again. The general public wouldn't be at the unveiling for the most part, so it wasn't as if everyone would have seen it, though he was sure the media would be in attendance. It sure would be something when they opened the exhibit and found an empty case! He wasn't sure how to feel about it, though. He wasn't one for finding joy in sabotaging something, but he also felt like what he was doing was heroic, not sabotage.
"I'll be fine. I can take care of myself just as much as you guys can handle your own." Claire said, which made Griffin smile kindly towards her, as he would a younger sister if he'd had one. She was so endearing. He knew she could take care of herself. She was a strong, able woman if not a little clumsy and naive.
"I'll drink to that." Came his voice as he lifted his glass to the others and cheered them. "To taking care of ourselves and each other." He toasted before taking a sip. "Seconds anyone?"
