Rules and Regulations
1. ACCOUNTS
Giving anyone access to your user account is prohibited. You are responsible for all content sent from your account, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
2. AGE
You must follow ProBoards' rules and regulations when it comes to site restrictions.
3. RATING
This site is rated PG-13. Please keep foul language to a minimum. Adult content is not acceptable under any circumstances. Just use your head and you'll know what is acceptable and what isn't.
4. POWERPLAYING
No one likes a power player. You control only your character. You cannot post that someone else's character did something or said something without having that player's permission beforehand. This includes impersonating another character.
EXAMPLE:
Correct- Billy shoved Jason back towards the bench, hoping he cracked his stupid head open.
Incorrect- Billy shoved Jason back towards the bench and watched victoriously as his head cracked open.
5. DON'T FLAME
Flaming is when you post something with the sole purpose of putting someone down or hurting them. Similarly, no harassing people IC or OOC - people don't come here to be nagged about posting or to receive an inbox full of complaints and criticisms. This is a strict policy, and those found flaming can be banned from the site. Be respectful to everyone. Just because your character may be uncivilized, doesn’t mean you need to be. Flame on? Uh I think not.
6. ACTIVITY
If you apply for a character and get accepted, remain active! If you do not post with your character IC within a two week period without notice in the Absence board your character will be considered inactive and may be deleted.
7. TILL DEATH DO US PART
You are not allowed to kill/maim another character without their consent. Be sure you have permission before you kill off another character unless that character happens to be yours.
8. THE HEAD HONCHOS
The staff are in charge. The Admin and Moderator will always have the final say. We try to be as fair as possible.
9. POSTING
Please be sure to check your spelling. We all make mistakes and the occasional mess up is fine. But at least make the effort to be sure your spelling is right. Also, be sure that your posts in character are no less than 150 words. Be considerate and if your partner is posting in the 400 word range try to match it as best as you can.
10. TIMELINE
Scriptor Bay is a real-time RPG. If you start a thread in May, then for the entirety of the thread it takes place in May, even if you don't finish until July. You might want to clarify in the first post the date it takes place, the time of day, and maybe what the weather is like. It will not only set the scene, but also make it easier for those following the thread.
11. IMAGES
We don't like to have the board stretched. Avatars are allowed and will be sized to 200x200. Signatures at the bottom must be no larger than 500x350, and any image that you post in your threads cannot be wider than 500.
12. GO WITH THE FLOW
We like to have posts done in third person. It keeps everything neat.
13. PRIVACY POLICY
Don't post information that belongs to another person. If you need someone's email, AIM, phone number, do it in PM to that person. We don't take lightly to sharing another person's private information without their consent.
14. NO SPAMMING
There is a section for advertising. Please be sure to keep all your links and promoting in there. Also the chat box isn't a place to advertise either. If you try to promote another site in the CBox then you'll be banned from the CBox.
15. NO WHINING
If you have a problem or suggestion, we want to hear it, including suggested solutions to problems.
16. NO ADMIN JUMPING
C'mon guys, let's be adults here. What is admin jumping? It involves asking one Admin (person who runs the board) getting a disfavorable response and asking another. Another aspect of this is lying to one admin about what another says. We do talk, and we’re intelligent human beings. This is irritating. Please do not do it.
17. POSTING
When you're posting as a character please use either a signature/picture at the bottom or the top of your post showing who you are playing to limit any confusion among other players. Again the sizes for Avatars are 100x100 and signatures at 500x350.
18. USERNAME
After you create your username and your character application is accepted, please be sure to change your display name if you haven't already created a username as your character. Display names must be first and last and in all caps.
19. CBOX RULES
Please watch what you say in CBox. Racism is strictly prohibited. You are allowed to curse but do so sparingly. Certain words have been blocked. Along with not spamming the CBox, please refrain from posting links that are unrelated to the board. We don't like our CBox being filled with links to images and YouTube videos. You can start a thread in the OOC section if you'd like to show these things. If for some reason you decide you must share something at that very moment please put it in code so it's not a big gaudy link.

20. MOST IMPORTANT
Just have a good time and be creative.
