History: Prestige, fortune, material objects…these were the things most important to Carter Merryweather. He was born to the influential Merryweather family, the eldest of two children, and was practically social royalty. He attended the finest schools New York had to offer, and ended up attending NYU to stay close to home, despite his ability to get into a more prestigious place of higher learning.
Carter had always valued his image, shopping at the finest stores, wooing only the most beautiful women and eating only at the most quality establishments. He had a large friend base, though even he knew many were friends simply due to wanting to be associated with him.
His life, however, was turned upside down when a beautiful young woman ran into him on the streets of New York.
The only thing Cassidy Hall had going for her was her striking beauty, which was enough to get the arrogant young man’s attention. It didn’t matter that she had no money since he had only planned to use her. Material things were easily purchased and could make even the most drab woman look like a million bucks. But Carter didn’t win Cassidy over as easily as he had hoped. After she had slipped away, he ended up running into her, repeatedly. It was as if fate had set them on a course to end up together and he soon realized there was far more to Miss Hall than her outer beauty.
The pair went through some odd ups and downs in the beginning of their ‘courtship’, finding at times they hated each other and others times that they were head over heels for one another. After some unfortunate events involving them being abducted and nearly killed by a car jacker, they ended up taking an impromptu vacation to Europe to try and recover and lay low. It was there that Carter realized he truly was in love for the first time, with someone his family would disapprove of. It seemed like a match made in heaven.
Despite them having been together for only a few short months, Carter, with the help of his beloved little sister, planned his and Cassidy’s wedding in New York City. It wasn’t long after that the pair found out they were expecting a child.
Humbled by the events that had occurred during his and Cassidy’s courtship, Carter knew he didn’t want to raise his child in the city he called home, but living in a suburban home didn’t seem natural to him either. He set off in search of the perfect city in which to call home, finally settling on Sciptor Bay, OR. He set to work packing up his wife and child, and moved the pair across the country, where he put his education and name to good use, opening a law firm as his father had always dreamed he would while his wife followed her own dreams; opening a fashion boutique.
