History:
Camille Lafferty had a closet full of demons she could never escape, despite how desperately she tried. She was born with an ingrained sense of paranoia, always concerned someone was watching her, and always afraid she wasn't good enough. She hid these fears well, for the most part, from the people around her who cared for her and loved her. Despite how desperately her parents tried to show and tell her they were there for her, Camille was certain they hated her, had never accepted her, and thought she was a complete failure. She decided when she was old enough to leave home she would, and she vowed to never come back. At eighteen Camille got accepted to several universities, but she chose the one furthest from her home in Scriptor Bay, OR; University of New Orleans.
Camille's first semester started out perfectly. Away from the pressure she felt at home, she began to blossom, but the novelty quickly wore off. She had a hard time making friends, and though she could do as she pleased, she had no direction to do anything at all. It was her instability that made her easy prey for the handsome, middle aged man preaching on her campus. She was lulled by his words, promising to overcome her interpersonal problems and to rebuild her for a fresh start. Daniel certainly had a way with words, and Camille, for the first time, found someone she could listen to. She had no idea the dark rabbit hole Daniel Bellefontaine was about to lead her down.
Camille dropped out of college after her first semester ended, and moved into the home Daniel provided for his “church”. Slowly she was swayed and manipulated to believe the dark things Daniel believed, and she became one of his most devoted followers. It was this pure devotion that led Daniel to wed Camille, along with several others, and allow her to bear his child. Nicholas was Daniel's first born, his son, the prince to his organization. The boy was treated almost like royalty, getting away with literally everything. But all good things come with a price. There were few rules in the secluded compound where Nicholas grew up, and the law found no place among the followers there. The boy quickly fell victim to things most people rot in prison for until the day they die, and what was worse was that he was encouraged to perform these atrocities among the other children in the compound. A sick part of Nicholas bloomed and blossomed, having no idea what he did was wrong, even though deep in his gut he felt fear and guilt. He was performing things on others that he had dreaded being done to him.
When Nicholas was eight, the gig was finally up. The police shut the church down, stole Nicholas from his parents, and brought him to a psychiatric unit where he spent the next several years being “cleansed” as he liked to call it. At twelve he was placed in a children's home and he was finally allowed to visit his mother who was locked away in prison. He never saw his father again, and never cared to.
Despite his rough beginnings, Nicholas grew up relatively well. He was stable for the most part, and rarely brought up his past. It wasn't something he was proud of, but surprisingly not something he was ashamed of, either. It did, however, sculpt him into the type of person that has deep, dark desires; desires he can't, and won't act out. At least on the innocent. The guilty, on the other hand, were another story, which is how he ended up becoming such a great assassin.
