Race/Species: Human
Species Info: N/A
D.O.B.: October 29, 1988
Age they appear: 22

__________________________________________________________
Features: Standing at 5'6" and weighing 110 pounds, Raina is both slender and curvy. She's quite light and, when she was a child, Raina's parents would jokingly attribute this to hollow bones. Her hair is long and a dark brown, just like her eyes, and she prefers to keep it this way. Raina has a small face that can appear even smaller when her hair conceals some of it. Her face has that "innocent, girl-next-door" look because of soft angles and facial features along with an exotic, European look.
Sexual Preference [Optional]: Heterosexual
Ethnicity: Bulgarian/Russian/Bosnian
Marks/Tattoos/Visible Scars: Raina has a long scar along both her wrists from cutting herself on two separate occasions. Apart from this, there's nothing else, though she has always wanted to get a tattoo.

Flaws/Weaknesses: Raina's biggest weakness is her bipolar disorder. It causes her to experience alternating moods of mania, hypomania (a milder form of mania), severe or mild depression, and mixed states. While she has started to feel somewhat better--this is all because of the mood stabilizers she's taking--there are still days when she cannot function and complete the simplest tasks. When suffering from severe depression, she can become suicidal and alienates herself from society. Raina can also be impulsive and will punch someone right in the nose before taking a moment to think things through. She's known for being charitable with her boyfriends, not caring who they talk to or even if they're flirting with another girl. This is why four of her boyfriends broke up with her.
Skills/Strengths: Raina is quite creative and has a wild imagination, with both of these increasing whenever she has a hypomanic episode. She can also be competitive when necessary and, when she isn't suffering from any of her episodes, Raina is a social butterfly.

Other Information: Raina's bipolar disorder is actually quite severe and it is only because of her mood stabilizers that she is able to still function correctly. There are some days, however, when she must miss work and school because she's experiencing a manic or depressive episode.

History: Born to Galina and Andrei Petrova, two human rights officers, Raina was raised in Bulgaria for the first three years of her life. After that, she began moving from country to country, sometimes with both her parents and sometimes with only one. Galina and Andrei did their best to stay together but there were many times when they would be apart for several months. Their love, however, remained just as strong and both remained extremely faithful to one another.
Due to her upbringing and the careers of her parents, Raina was forced to learn various languages, such as Greek, Arabic, Spanish, and French. She was fluent in some and proficient in others, and it was at the age of twelve that Raina knew she, too, wanted to be like her parents. She wanted to be a human rights officer and help those who were in need. Her dreams, however, were put on hold when she began to experience severe mood swings. Galina and Andrei knew something was wrong but they were unaware of what it actually was. Then, at the age of sixteen, she experienced a severe episode of depression that lead her to slicing her wrists. If it hadn't been for Galina walking into the bathroom, Raina would have bled to death.
She was immediately rushed to the hospital and, after being discharged, the doctors asked what had happened. Raina herself was unsure of it. She explained that she had felt like a failure and that everything in her life was going wrong. After several tests and one meeting with a psychologist, it was determined that Raina was bipolar. Both her parents were shocked but knew they had to accept the truth. Andrei suggested that they leave her with her maternal grandparents, who lived in Scriptor Bay, and Galina agreed. For the next three years, Raina lived with her grandparents until she decided to take control of her life. She didn't want to feel restricted because of her bipolar disorder and wanted to be independent. She was all set to move into her apartment when she was stopped by her aunt, who told her that after one month, Raina would move back into her grandparents house. Raina wasn't exactly pleased with this but reluctantly agreed. As it turned out, she didn't last for a month. Instead, Raina returned after a week and a half. The mood stabilizers were helping, but she didn't feel completely "better." But Raina wasn't going to let this ruin her dreams and hopes of becoming a human rights officer. She began to study political science at Greenwolfe University and planned on getting a Ph.D in the field, and even got a job as a bartender at the Jack Kit. She was finally starting to enjoy life, something Raina hadn't done in years.

Why would she even think of wearing that?
Did I remember to hand in that project?
I can't believe he finally asked me out!
She wanted to roll up in a ball and just lie in the middle of the hallway. Students walked through the halls, caught up in their own lives and problems to even notice Kassandra. Their thoughts were her thoughts and it hurt. It hurt like Hell. Ever since she had arrived her hopes of having a 'normal' life were shattered. Kassandra had never been a fan of comics but her father did have quite a large collection stashed in the attic. One day, while cleaning, she had discovered them and after flipping through a few of the comics, Kassandra had realized she was similar to that redhead...what was her name again? Joyce? Or was it Jen? Jean! That was her name. Jean Grey. Okay, so they weren't even remotely similar, but they were both telepathic and apparently that Jean character had mental blocks. Kassandra had expected that someone here would create those for her, yet nothing of the sort happened. She was just left to deal with all of this alone. Perhaps it was for the best. Kassandra never did like sympathy.
Someone bumped into her and Kassandra winced, biting her lip so she wouldn't scream. She had screamed in the past and it had resulted in the neighbors thinking that the Desmarais children were being abused. The student, a boy no older than sixteen with blue eyes and an intentionally messy hair cut, apologized quickly before dashing off. He was obviously in a rush and Kassandra assumed it was because he was late for a class. She was running late herself. The teachers were very understanding and had no problem with excusing Kassandra for her occasional tardiness. A few, she believed, were only so forgiving because all of their secrets were available for her pleasure. But it didn't work like that. Kassandra was not yet capable of actually separating the thoughts in order to understand them, so most of it was just jiberish to her. Even at night, when her sleep was invaded by the dreams and nightmares of others, she couldn't differentiate between them.
With a textbook--it was either for Biology or History- and notebook in her arms, Kassandra moved through the halls, dodging both students and teachers alike. After that incident with the nurse, Kassandra was afraid of what might happen if she were to make physical contact with someone else. There was the rare occasion where someone bumped into her and nothing happened but she still didn't want to take any chances. Kassandra still didn't understand why she had such a vivid memory about that incident. Everything else was hard for her to remember, yet the memory of the nurse dying was burned into her mind. Perhaps it was some sort of punishment. She reached her class just several seconds before the bell rang and took her seat, glancing at her textbook. It was for her History class and this was Chemistry. Oh well. It's not like she would have been able to concentrate, anyways.
