- Soft spoken women
- His crappy car
Other Information: Garret has gotten into the groove of being a ladies man, however he went through some rough years—braces, glasses, acne, poor hygiene—in his home town. Every now and then he’ll get caught off guard though and not be able to maintain his cool.
__________________________________________________________
History: Garret didn’t grow up in Scriptor Bay, but he certainly enjoys the change. Back in his home town, people remember the years before he discovered deodorant, before he knew how many days in a row it was acceptable to not wash your hair, before he wore anything but cargo pants and anime t-shirts. It wasn’t until he went to college out of state that he was taken in by one of the popular people he’d idolized his entire life. This guy basically gave him a crash course of ‘How to be cool 101’. He went shopping with Garret, took him to get his hair cut, jokingly bought him ten sticks of deodorant at once, and had him start going to the gym a few times a week. In no time, Garret was totes a hottay in his new school. A few weeks after his position as a bro was established, he also found out that Jared, the guy who’d pulled him out of his nerd rut, was also extremely homosexual, and still in the closet. We won’t go into detail on how he found this out, but to this day, Garret is scarred by the experience.
Anyway, all through that time, Garret had been bettering himself in his favorite pass time: art. He didn’t do anything classic, but he had perfected making space paintings using spray paint. (As seen HERE.) Even though the painting was what he loved to do, he knew he couldn’t make a living off of it, so he made sure to focus on school as well, and ended up with a business degree. You can do anything with a business degree, right?! That’s what he tells the ladies anyway, when he’s making sure they know how much potential he has.
The ladies, as it happens, are a big part of his life. He loves going out and hooking up, although he’s not a total scumbag. He’s not going to make out with some easy target drunk girl, and he’s going to make sure that they know what a night spent with him is—not much of anything. But! He does want to meet up with a nice, smart girl who can hold her own and he can open up to about his nerdy past and secret geeky tendencies. If there was someone that he felt comfortable enough to do that with, he’d sweep her right off her feet!
He did actually have one incidant in college where he thought he’d found ‘the one’. She was smart, beautiful, funny and he enjoyed spending time with her more than doing anything else. The moment that he whipped out his anime collection though, and talked about his legitimate fears of paranormal activity, she was OUTTA THERE. To himself, Garret would add, with a huge chunk of his heart. Sad face.
Now he lives in Scriptor Bay where he does his street art on the weekends and during the week… Well, he doesn’t do much of anything other than job hunt by day, party by night. How can he afford to party? By using his street art money for food, and using the money that his mom sends him for booze, of course! Where can he afford to stay, you might ask yourself. Well, he worked out a deal with the owner of an apartment building, and he gets to stay for free so long as he fixes things up for the rest of the tenants, and manages their problems. Piece. Of. Cake.
RP Sample: "Mypalletis always ready for an adventure," Ella's brow raised, but she chose to ignore the possibility of an alternate meaning. Just as she was about to suggest a couple dishes with more exotic flavors, he ordered a brownie.A very tame adventure, apparently. She stopped herself from more of an internal monologue, noticing she was feeling a tad more bitchy than usual. She decided to attribute that to the freak weather that had since graced the town. Quite frankly, it seemed to be throwing Ella off her natural groove. She hadn't had time yet that day to turn on the news and see what the broadcasters had to say about it because she'd been dragging herself around all day in a haze.
Just as she was about to pull a brownie from her glass case, the customer made himself comfortable on the counter in front of her, mirroring her pose, just a few inches away. AWLL up in hur grill, this guy. But he did smile, which was some sort of peace gesture in her book.
"I noticed your sign out front. What kind of renter you looking for?"
NOW he had her attention. Ella stood up straight. Under her harness, her wings bristled excitedly, which inevitably made her wince as they strained against their prison. "Oh! Well I'm glad you noticed it. I actually have an apartment right upstairs that I'm looking to rent out to someone. Are you looking for a place to stay?" In that instant, he transformed in her mind. Raggity delinquent no more. No, this man was a shining opportunity for her to take down that sign and finally make use of her second floor.
Looking around, there weren't too many people in the store. She could easily close up early since Bird Food was only open for dinner on the weekend. "I could give you a tour if you're interested."
The brownie. She suddenly remembered his order and took one from the case. She decided not to tell him about how it was good for him-- something she typically did for new customers-- since he clearly wasn't interested in that aspect. Besides, she thought he might be a little put off if she told him about all the fiber he'd be getting from now undetectable black beans.
