Features: Kelsey has a very athletic body type. You can tell that she suffered a bit of anorexia when she was a drug user, but its being slowly filled out by muscle more than fat. She finds the gym a good outlet for the shake-y energy she gets when she wants to use again. She's five foot six and a half inches, and don't you dare forget that half (since being almost a foot shorter than her twin, she takes every little bit of height she can get). She has dark brown hair, which has a slight natural curl to it and completely frizzes when its humid out.
Sexual Preference [Optional]: Straight
Ethnicity: White
Marks/Tattoos/Visible Scars: She has a tramp stamp tattoo of a chinese dragon. Also, you can see the track marks from the times she did heroin and long scars across her wrists from one of her attempted suicides. (She tends to wear a lot of bracelets to cover these up.)
__________________________________________________________
Flaws/Weaknesses: Kelsey has an addictive personality. She craves that next high and tends to latch on to bad habits quickly. This also means she's quick get into bad relationships. She likes that feeling of being with someone, no matter who that person is or what they do to her. She doesn't care about herself very much and just doesn't like the feeling of being lonely.
Skills/Strengths: Even if she doesn't care much for herself, she cares greatly about the people who are important in her life (those are few and far between however). Which is mostly why she got clean and is trying to stay clean, because when most of the haze cleared while in rehab, she could really comprehend what she was doing to her brother. Even off drugs, Kelsey knows to have fun and throw a good party, plus she hasn't given up alcohol yet (lets go step by step here). She's also a really great liar.

Other Information: Kelsey's a complicated creature. She's vibrant and fun, but has a pretty tortured past. She tends to take abuse from other people, but won't stand to see it happen to other people. So don't be surprised if she spouts some hypocritical nonsense at you.

History: Kelsey was born exactly two minutes and three seconds before her twin brother Kevin and she'll never let him forget it. She is the older sibling for all he thinks he has to take care of her. Just because she's a girl... and well a drug user, and well there was those couple times she tried to kill herself, but I'm getting ahead of myself here. Lets just start from the beginning. Kelsey adored her brother (and consequently enjoyed pestering him, like all sisters do their brothers) since pretty much birth. Even in the crib she would find ways to make him cry, but they would both cry if they were separated. When they were six, they lost their mother to cancer, which Kelsey took particularly hard. It was the first time that she had felt abandonment, and from there it only got worse.
Six year old Kelsey didn't understand much of what was going on. Even at six, her brother tried to shelter her from it, so Kelsey lost herself in making friends in her first year of school. She pretended like things weren't bad at all at home and started lying to cover up her father's mistakes. She was pretty much your average happy go lucky kid on the outside, while hiding this giant secret on the inside. It became routine to her, but then that was all ripped away as well. Her father abandoned her and her brother to the system, which hurt her even more. She clung to Kevin more desperately in the years to come, afraid that he would abandon her as well, and let him take on the role of protector.
The years that the pair spend in foster homes, group homes and every other sort of place called a home, but that never really feels like one, were long ones. Kelsey grew up in a haze. It seemed like every time she tried to make friends at one place they were ripped away from her when she was moved to the next one. The worst blow came when Kevin and her were almost split up and she had nightmares for weeks. By the time she was a teenager, she was flippant with her friends; Lying and using them more than letting them get actually close to her. Though Kevin protected her from a lot, he couldn't save her from feeling neglected and abandoned by almost everyone in her life.
It wasn't until she was fifteen that the ideal of trying to put their family back together slipped into her mind. She somehow thought that if she could get Kevin and herself back with their father then maybe she wouldn't feel so worthless. Her father would say how they got lost in the system and that he'd been looking for them all those years. They would embrace and everything would be ok. She would feel whole again. So when Kevin suggested they followed Kit to Vegas, Kelsey put her foot down. She would not tear her family apart with even more distance. It was probably the worst decision she had ever made in her life, because she never found her father... but she did find something else.
Kelsey had tried some of the softer drugs while they were in foster care and on more than one occasion she had gotten drunk with her foster siblings, but it never really amounted to much as she was afraid of the repercussions. However, on her own, she grew less afraid of the consequences and fell into friends with a bad crowd. The first time she did heroin, it strangely gave her the feeling of being in control for once. She forgot about all of her problems, all of the abandonment and flew without even leaving the ratty couch of her friends run-down apartment. She quickly grew addicted and it wasn't hard for her to justify why she needed it. The times that she didn't have money or the means to feed her addiction were some of the lowest times of her life. She could truly see what she was doing to herself and she got low. So low that she tried to take her life... twice, once by blades and another with pills.
When Kevin put her into the rehab center, she was angry. She was more than angry, she was furious. The one person who she thought would never abandoned her, threw her away with the rest of the trash. The first week she was there they had to put her in restraints for fear that she would hurt herself more. She screamed and cried until she couldn't scream and cry anymore. She shook and sweat and went through every hurt and emotion that a human could possibly feel and when the rage, pain and hurt finally began to clear, she could truly see just how far she had gone. Then she was sad. She stopped blaming Kevin for putting her in here and realized it was her own fault. Kelsey had abandoned her brother, not the other way around.
When she was finally released from rehab, she tried to stay straight for Kevin's sake. Even that time he caught her with her old friends, she was trying to convince them to quit, even though he wouldn't listen to her. She found herself being dragged to Oregon of all places, but she didn't mind as much as she led him on to believe. In fact, she was happy to see Kit again, because it meant that maybe she would get to hear her brother laugh again. Now, in Oregon, she regularly visits the various anonymous groups to tell her story and listen to others. She hates it, but she goes because she knows that it can help. Maybe a fresh start was a good thing... and she was trying hard to make it stay good.
RP Sample: "Cause its cheap... and food all tastes the same, no matter what the price." Brandon leaned over the cart as he pushed it up and down the aisles. Sometimes he wondered why he put himself through this. Weren't girls the ones who did the shopping, found all of the deals and whatnot? Why was he always the one stuck making the grocery list. God knows he was no good at it, as evidenced by the mishmash of foodstuffs they had strewn about in their cart so far. "Its not dirty, its just the lighting..." He muttered, before he was almost taken out by a bag of frosted cookies being thrown into the cart.
He paused, looking at the cookies in the cart. He knew that she was only getting them because they were pink, but before he could say anything she continued on with her 'complaining'. You weren't together for years without picking up on things between each other. She must have known he was going to correct her. "Yeah, those cool, environmenty people also wear hemp and shop at second-hand clothing stores... should we do that too? I can go buy you some nice hemp bags and return your leather purses for you if you like..." Of course he would never do that, unless he wanted to get his head torn off for messing with whatever name brand purse she had this week.
He didn't even bat an eye at the magazine being thrown in their cart (though god knows what aisle they were in that had both cookies and magazines together, must be the PMS aisle). He was used to buying whatever Alanna wanted, and truthfully he didn't mind. It kept her happy, which in turn kept him happy. He did however continue putting items in the cart that they actually needed, like actually nutritious food. He did however do a double take at some geek in brown corduroy pants and a bright red plaid flannel shirt. As he walked past the guy practically stared before whipping out a pad and paper, writing something down and then scurrying off around the corner. "Like that baby, you want me to start dressing all strange like that so we can go shop at the environmenty place?" Brandon had a really skewed view of organic health nuts...
Speaking of clothing, Brandon himself was wearing a black button down shirt, some jeans and he had a pair of sunglasses perched on top of his head. Neither he, nor his girlfriend looked like the crowd that was wandering around Wal-mart today. He strained only slightly when Alanna hopped on the cart, and then continued on. He was also used to this... as well as just frankly carrying Lana around sometimes. Of course, it also meant he got a nice view for the rest of the trip... which he didn't mind at all. His mind was nearly whistling appreciation before he noticed a pair of guys high-fiving at the view of his girlfriends ass.
It was almost a growl that escaped 'Bran-muffin's' throat at that moment. "Hey, you got a problem?" He barked at the pair while gripping the handle of the cart; his knuckles turned white. "Baby, get off the cart." He said, more restrained but still with a hint of an edge. He wasn't going to let her give them any more of a show.
