The apartment door hit the opposite wall with a bang, Checotah's voice shouting out. "MEGHAN! Did you not hear the buzzer? I got bags down in the car..." He trailed off as he was met by a dark and vacant apartment. Sighing he turned and kicked the door shut, plunging him into darkness, followed by a few mummers of his voice then clicking as all the candles in the room were brought to life by his spell, grinning at his accomplishment. It may have not been a big accomplishment to any other elementalist, like his sister who often laughed when he preformed the smallest of task and got excited over it. But to him it was, he had really only known about his true self for a few years. All the elements besides wind was like pulling teeth. While he could freely make streams of air flow or use it to lift things, he had to hardest of times lightning a single match, or moving the smallest drop of water. After about two years of living in Scriptor Bay and practicing every chance he got, it was like the elements finally realized what he was trying to do and listened to him for a change. He was still no where near as good as his parents or sister, but able to keep up some what. Now able to see he walked into the kitchen where he was greeted by a note in his sisters hands. "Cotah went out with Mel and Dee Be back later don't wait up I have my keys. He rolled his eye and threw the note into trash. Meghan was a year younger then him, but she still acted like she was 16 sometimes. Mel was Cotah's co-worker at Dylan's, and a very very free spirit. Like therian free spirit. Dee was Meghan's best friend who also acted like she was 16 even though she was the oldest out of the three at 24. He had to laugh though, the note reminded him of the ones he would leave for his mother when he went out with friends back in Oklahoma. That of course also reminded him of how his mother and him just left out of the middle of nowhere. He never said good bye never told any one where he was going, it was not like he had a chance to either. As soon as his mom decided that they were returning to Scriptor Bay, they left the same night. He blinked back tears as always when he thought about his old life. Once he finished with the groceries, he pulled out some left over pizza from the night before and grabbed a beer from the fridge. Yes he was a beer drinker, even before he was of age he liked to drink it, and it helped him loosen up after a day of work and school. He plopped down on the couch, throwing his phone down next to him. Cotah looked around at his shared living place as he ate. The apartments was not to shabby. It was modest and perfect for two young adults to be living in, and you could see it too. Various articles of clothing placed around, a pile of dishes in the sink, empty soda and beer cans around. A game system and blue ray hooked up to the flat screen. A stereo that was now playing one of the latest country hits, well blaring one of the latest hits. One thing he liked to do when alone was turn up his music and push away the world for a little bit. Cotah chewed silently and took a sip of his beer, his mind else where. Just another night to him.

July 2-9 Checklist.
Whenever there were events at the museum Claire ended up being sent home with a sheet of things that must be done before the event. She was one of the few people who actually had to take her work home with her from the museum and when she did it meant it was going to be a long night. She had to go over the checklist, transfer it over into a spreadsheet, make a schedule of when each objective had to be done, then she had to double check it to make sure she left nothing out and then assign a list to each person who worked there.
She realized that subconsciously she had been making Griffin's list light. Well just because they were.. well.. she didn't know what they were but they were something! It didn't mean she could lighten his load and she knew that he wouldn't like it either. He enjoyed working just as much as she did, so she began switching some of his stuff around with Javier's when she a loud noise made her jump and spill her glass of juice all over the work she'd just done. "..no. No no no no no.." her brows furrowed and she gave a very awkward, nervous laugh at the thought.
What was that noise that made her jump?! The TV was on but muted, and Luna was curled up on the couch fast asleep. That's when she heard it again. The people who lived under her were blasting music and she felt the floor vibrate and rumble. "Seriously?!" She got to her feet and stared at the floor as if it was going to open up so she could shout down at them to turn it off, except it didn't happen. She began stomping her feet around but she had a feeling that they couldn't hear her, so she groaned miserably, threw her arms up in the air and stormed out the door.
She didn't even grab shoes and when she went down the stairs the cold metal stung the bottom of her feet. Why didn't she grab shoes?! She had a million pairs! She also didn't grab pants, wearing just a pair of shorts and a tank top. She had been at home so whatever, thug life.
She knew she was at the right door since the only number that was different from hers was the first number which was the floor number. She curled up a fist and started to bang on the door. She was not amused with the occupants choice of music. Country? Really?! "HEY!" She called out, bang bang bang!

"HEY!!!" bang bang bang. The loud knocking and screaming and did not even register in his mind as someone at the door, instead it was just another part of the song. "Where I can breath. Where I feel free. Yeah. Take me back iv been away to long. Take me back to my home sweet home." Cotah sang along a bit loudly and off key. Okay he was horrible. He did so for the rest of the song the whole time thinking the banging was just another part till the station hit commercial waters.
"HEY!!!" Bang bang bang. He looked around trying to find the sound till his eyes met the door and he realized someone had been knocking for a good two minutes. He pointed the remote and shut off the radio, getting up quickly beer still in his hand. "COMING!" he yelled. The candles were still lit and he thought ti would look wired to someone if he was sitting alone in a candle lit room. Maybe they would wonder if he knew what central heating and electricity were. He waved his hand and they all went out in a one fell swoop, which was a bad action on his part. It was now pitch black again and he was room with coffee tables and chairs.
Heading for the lamp he thought carefully not to hit the coffee and chair, as he thought this the universe decided to be a bitch like always and his right knee slammed into the corner and his foot into the tables leg. "Are you fucking kidding me?" his voice was hushed so he who ever was at the door would not hear him. He reached the lamp and turned it on, filling the room with light. Then he was racing towards the door in his socks on hard wood floor. He slid the last few feet and almost into the door but stopped in time.
Cotah pulled open the door to see a very cute but very upset looking red head. Her face not matching the pink shorts and a tank top she had on. "Hi...sorry...I was not even paying attention" He looked at her face again, then down at his beer and decided she needed one. He held up his. "Want one?"

Was the music really that loud that the jerk in the apartment couldn't hear her banging on the door? She thought she was banging pretty loud! But eventually she heard the music shut off and someone shout out that they were coming so she finally stopped banging and crossed her arms in front of her. But whoever this was they were taking forever to get to the door and she was getting ready to bang against it once more when it opened up and she was caught with her hand in the air.
"Hi...sorry...I was not even paying attention." She looked up at her hand and then dropped her arm back down to her side trying to regain her composure. "Probably because your music was too loud. You know, could you keep it down? I mean some of us have work to do!" Claire wasn't usually a mean person but she was irritated darn it! She had things to get done!
When he looked down at the beer her eyes moved down to look at it as well and she cocked a brow curiously. What was he doing? Then he held it up, "Want one?" ...what? She blinked a few times and made a face to show her confusion. "I.. wha.. can you just keep your music down?! Don't distract me with beer! I'm yelling at you mister! Because I'm your mean neighbor from upstairs, oh yeah!" She nodded her head but she was sure she wasn't fooling anyone. Claire just didn't do mean.

Cotah nodded at her as her mini rant went on, and was having a hard time keeping a straight face. She was a really bad at this. Her confused look at the offer of the beer almost set him off laughing but he saw she was trying to be serious. "I.. wha.. can you just keep your music down?! Don't distract me with beer! I'm yelling at you mister! Because I'm your mean neighbor from upstairs, oh yeah!" "Yeah I'll keep my music down, I'm sorry. And I'm not distracting you with beer, my music was distracting. The beer is an apology." How could beer be distracting? Its beer. He walked away from the door and to the fridge and came back new non distracting icy cold bottle, and held it out to her as a peace offering.
"Oh you're not very good at the whole mean person thing. Your to pretty to be mean." Cotah nodded and flashed a nice smile. "And yes I know you're my neighbor, I see you almost everyday." On the stairs, in the elevator, by the mailboxes, outside. Wow you must be oblivious, I say hi too! "So uhh are you going to stand there in the middle of my door way? Because if my sister comes home and sees you she will think I got her a gift." He gave her a wink. "She loves red heads"

"Yeah I'll keep my music down, I'm sorry. And I'm not distracting you with beer, my music was distracting you. The beer is an apology." Claire stopped raving and stood there staring at him like he was offering her a ridiculous rock. Claire wasn't a drinker and she definitely didn't drink random beers that strange men who lived below her offered! She watched him as he stepped away from the door and she was wondering if he was just going to leave her standing there like an idiot, but he soon came back with another beer, this one unopened. She eyed it suspiciously before slowly reaching out and taking it. "Thanks."
"Oh you're not very good at the whole mean person thing. You're too pretty to be mean." Wait, what? "And yes I know you're my neighbor, I see you almost everyday." Did he?! Claire wasn't very observant in the halls of the apartment building. She grabbed her mail and stumbled her way up to her own apartment and stayed cooped up in there. She had tried meeting her neighbors before but then she had this old man who would always knock on her door and ask to come in. He'd eat all her food and hit on her. It was just.. no. She squinted at him and tipped her head to the right trying to see him from a different angle and realized that yeah, she might have seen him around once, twice, maybe fifty times or so.
"So uhh are you going to stand there in the middle of my door way? Because if my sister comes home and sees you she will think I got her a gift. She loves red heads." Her jaw dropped leaving her mouth open as if he had just told her the dirtiest joke in the world and then slapped her in the face. Claire suddenly got nervous and started to tap her fingers against the neck of the bottle. "Wait, so I come over to yell at you and you tell me to leave? That-" she thought about it for a second.. that was usually how things went.

Cotah was trying and failing to stifle his giggles at her facial expressions. It was no lie, his sister did love read heads. She was not gay like him but she swung both ways. Maybe there father had magical gay sperm? "Wait, so I come over to yell at you and you tell me to leave? That-" Really?...really? "That's how it usually works?" he decide to finish the sentence for her hoping not to sound to much like a jerk. "I don't know about you but most people, would rather not have some yelling girl in there door way." He shook his head to agree with himself. "Then again your not really yelling your more of..getting...on..to..me? I don't know what your doing really but you were really bad at it. And if I was a normal person I would go back inside and turn back on the radio and louder then before. But I'm not because I'm a nice person." He gave a smile. "So you can continue standing in my door way and failing or you can turn around and go back up stairs and do what ever it was you were doing and give yourself the satisfaction that you accomplished what you set your mind to."
He was not trying to be rude by telling her to go away. He did want her to go away but he did not want to be rude about it. So he did the only thing he knew how to do and that was explaining the situation from his view and that was the reason for his mini speech. He took another drink from his bottle and stood there waiting with a blank stare on his face.

Claire knew how it usually worked! Claire knew that when someone was yelling and all angry the owner would tell them to leave. And somehow Claire found him to be the rude one. Then again.. he was! He was being rude by listening to his damn music so loud! "I don't know about you but most people, would rather not have some yelling girl in their door way." "Yeah? Most people don't like to hear music through their floor!"
"Then again you're not really yelling you're more of..getting...on..to..me? I don't know what you're doing really but you were really bad at it. And if I was a normal person I would go back inside and turn back on the radio and louder than before. But I'm not because I'm a nice person. So you can continue standing in my doorway and failing or you can turn around and go back upstairs and do whatever it was you were doing and give yourself the satisfaction that you accomplished what you set your mind to."
Claire usually got along with people pretty easily. She was a nervous awkward wreck but she was able to get along well enough with most people. But this guy she wanted to shift and maul him. That was usually something her sister wanted to do, not her! The girl rolled her eyes at him and thought seriously of kicking him in the shin for a moment before she turned. "You know what? J-just keep your music down, okay? Or next time I'll show you my angry face!"

Cotah's mouth pursed when she rolled her eyes. She had just broke one of his biggest pet peeves and on top of her coming down and "yelling" she was getting annoying. And when people started to annoy him, his mouth liked to take over. "You know what? J-just keep your music down, okay? Or next time I'll show you my angry face!" Angry face? He had to stop himself from laughing, but failed when a few little burst escaped him. "Honey, I don't think you have an angry bone in your body. Since you started talkin I'v been tempted to slam the door in your face!" He shook his head and tried not to laugh but failed miserably.
When he managed to stop he took a deep breath and looked at her. "Sorry but you are just really bad at the mean intimidating neighbor thing. I will keep my music down. I promises." He bowed his head in an silent apology and started to close the door. A thought made him stop though, he pulled the door back just enough and reached out and took his beer back. If she was not going to drink it he would. He smiled and closed the door too.
With two beers in hand now, he sauntered back over to his couch and pizza thanking he handled the situation in an okay way. He admitted to himself that he could have done a better job, but they were both adults and no one got there little feelings hurt so it was all okay in the end. He plopped back down on his couch and started to eat his pizza again. Already forgetting the small event.
