Hey everyone, welcome to another Scriptor Bay newsletter! If you didn't notice (although some of you did) we did not have a June newsletter. Everyone had their own stories going on and were busy enough that we decided to hold off on doing a plot or making any sort of announcements until this month! So welcome to July we have so many things going on for this month!
First things first, we'd like to welcome Nicholas to the board. He's our newest member!
CHECOTAH RAE - if you don't know who this is then do go check out his bio! Welcome Nicholas! We're so glad you've joined Scriptor Bay!
In case anyone hasn't noticed, we've promoted BAA to mod. She's a very dedicated and amazing member so if you have any questions or concerns you may direct these to her as well as Cupcake and Whiskey. So congratulations BAA!
IN OTHER NEWS - The Guardians have always been known to have leaders who make decisions regarding their species' privacy and safety. These leaders (the original four) meet to discuss topics that have to do with their own kind. They're also the highest ranking members of each species, there is nobody higher than the leaders. Let's introduce them, shall we?
ROBERT SNOW - LEADER OF THE GARGOYLES This leader is one of the most fierce we have in the leaders. He's physically and mentally strong but occasionally he allows his anger to get the best of him and he shows it too well.
TABITHA LIVINGSTON - LEADER OF THE THERIANTHROPES Her shifting animal is a moose and of course this affects the type of woman she is. She can go from cheerful to stern in an instant. She's very passionate about her kind and when her mind is set there is no changing it.
MORDECAI DEITRICH - LEADER OF THE AVISAILLES He's a very kind and forgiving man but also a little naive. Unlike the other leaders his concerns aren't only for his own kind but for theirs as well and tries to bring them together as a family.
GERTIE PERIWRINKLE - LEADER OF THE BLURRS This leader may be a little quirky and probably the most cowardice of the leaders, but he cares about his kind and when it counts he puts his foot down. He just makes sure that where he puts it is sanitary is all.
The witches have their own leader:
MATSIMELA BELL - LEADER OF THE WITCHES Unlike the original four who have a leader of each species the witches only have one that they go to for guidance. Being as they're humans they don't need to be under such strict supervision. Matsimela is a very considerate man who listens to reason but at times he can be too caring.
Due to our Masquerade Ball we are going to change the board's graphics! There will be new graphics up for the month of July and then come August they will be changed again for another plot! What does this mean? Just that the site is going to look a little different as far as colors and graphics, but nothing is going to be moved. Everything else will remain the same so don't fret!
ACTIVITY CHECK - Activity checks are something that we do every so often on the board. It's pretty clear when members aren't going to be coming back and we reclassify them as Inactive for a month. If they don't come back in a month's time then they're deleted entirely. But be sure to at least check in once a week and post so you're not leaving anybody hanging.
Threads to Watch:
GUARDIANS AND COMMUNITY UNITE
Summary: The leaders of the four Guardians come together as per Mordecai's request. Come to find out Mordecai wants to reveal the existence of the four kinds of Guardians to the public. After much debate the Robert, the Gargoyle leader, agrees to join Mordecai while the Therian leader Tabitha and Blurr leader Gertie both oppose Mordecai's proposition and wish to remain hidden.
Something to talk about: This meeting occurs just days before the Masquerade Ball so it would be a great conversational piece while there (in case you run out of things to talk about). The news of the leaders' conference would have spread like wildfire so it's very likely your character knows if they're one of the four original Guardians. (This doesn't include witches but they could hear through their friends).
Sign ups for the mystery plot that is to occur during the masquerade is now closed. If you didn't have the chance to sign up you will still have the opportunity to be involved at a later time and we encourage you to follow along!
This is who has signed up for the mystery plot:
- Flynn Young - Claire McLeester - Nicole Ryder - Liam Avery - Noah Quinn - Zane Daggett - Brandon Garcia - Checotah Rae
To everyone who signed up you will get a notification of when the mystery plot is starting during your character's Masquerade Ball threads! Your characters must attend the Masquerade in order to go to the mystery plot! Rules for the mystery plot will be given at the time we start it so keep an eye out for your character's notice! These threads can be started on June 1st in THE MASQUERADE sub-board.
Just to make sure it's clear, EVERYONE can participate in the Masquerade. The sign ups weren't for the ball itself but for a side story. Now, on to the Masquerade!
The Masquerade Ball is an invite-only event. (This means your character had to know someone to get an invite which is easy enough to do, right? Everybody knows somebody!) The event is obviously a Masquerade Ball which means the dress code is formal. Men need to wear a formal tux/suit and have a mask while the women ball gowns that cannot be too short - keep it classy (Cheyenne!) with dress shoes and a mask. Coats and bags will be checked at the door for safe keeping.
The Masquerade takes place at the Scriptor Bay Museum, they clear out any floor pieces that they have out during business hours and serves as a large dance hall. Any sections of the museum where exhibits cannot be moved (i.e. the butterfly room) will be closed off to all guests. Light appetizers and beverages (open bar) will be available.
The goal is to enjoy yourselves! Mods (Cupcake/Whiskey/Baa) may pop in at any time and post updates in your threads about the ball. Because it is likely that you'll want your characters to mingle with more than just one person you may make group threads or thread hop - this means with the consent of those doing the thread, you may post your character in an existing thread to socialize with others.
That's it for July's newsletter!
