Lucy took a deep breath. She and Sydney were meddling in some things they shouldn't be, things that could be dangerous and get them killed, or better, others killed. As a kid she would have never thought in a million years she would be doing something like this, something that seemed so... illegal. Not just illegal, but against nature. The gargoyles were supposed to be nocturnal creatures only. The darkness that had clouded the city had taken that away and now they were out all the time, but they still, from what Lucy understood, couldn't touch the light or they would turn back into stone which kept them chained to the city they lived in if they wanted to be up during the day. But now? Now, She and Sydney were about to change all of that.
Sydney knew a guy, who was friends with a girl, and the pair had managed to make a magical ring that would allow the gargoyles to stay in their human form, even during the day. They had only made one and they'd been stoned off their asses at the time, but somehow this chick got the instructions to Sydney and the two of them had manage to play with it and mess with it until they finally did it; they made a moon ring. All sorts of testing proved it was the real deal, a true moon ring, but now what? Neither of them needed it and they knew from rumors that gargoyles were willing to kill for it. And they were going to SELL it?! Lucy didn't want to die. She was plenty happy being little old Lucy Schmidt, professional wallflower and occasional singer, but the pair had actually managed to find a buyer and he was coming over. Right now.
Lucy was freaking out to put it mildly. She moved the pillows on their old, beaten up hand-me-down couch to make it look more presentable as if when the guy arrived they would invite him in and ask him to sit on their lovely couch, which of course wouldn't happen. Maybe they should have met him someplace public! No, that was risky too. All they needed was a cop to walk by while money was being exchanged and suddenly they would be tossed in jail. Lucy wasn't interested in being a felon, not while she was so young and needing to find a job to pay back her extensive college loans.
The college loans were exactly the reason behind why they were doing this. Their new business venture was risky, but it was a product in high demand and there were no real competitors for this little niche market, which allowed them the opportunity to ask exorbitant amounts of money for something that took just a little magic to create.
"Do you think we're asking too much?" She asked her friend a little anxiously, pushing her short, dyed blondish hair behind her ears. "I mean.. Is it maybe not enough? Could we get more?" Syd was going to need to talk her down again, being sort of a nervous nelly. She wasn't always so nervous. In fact, most of the time she was pretty chill and laid back, but right now she felt a little like she was Walt from Breaking Bad. Selling an awesome product... "Maybe we shouldn't be doing this in the apartment." She added, picking up a pillow and moving it to the other side of the couch, nodding and deciding it looked better there. Maybe we need, like.. a ring pimp or something. Hey, you're sort of black, do you know any pimps?" She smiled playfully, only teasing her roommate and knowing Sydney could handle the silly joke.

Although Sydney and Lucy were treading in dangerous waters but for a very good reason. College tuition wasn’t cheap and the girls had plenty of tuition debts piling high. They wanted to be sure that when they were done in college they weren’t weighed down by those debts later in life. The way they were going about getting their debts paid for weren’t as bad as Lucy made it seem. The thought of a Gargoyle coming to their dorm didn’t sit well with her either. Which was why Sydney had a smudge stick that she was burning and walking around the room, hovering over the front door while Lucy straightened up. She’d made the smudge stick herself out of dried white sage and lavender bound in red string.
Sydney hung with a lot of different crowds, so she didn’t really categorize herself as anything. She wasn’t a prep, a goth or a nerd. But she had friends in every group. In fact it was her stoner friends that told her all about the rings and how to make them. It took Lucy and Syd several tries before they got the spell right but when they did it was a piece of cake. They had created a ring that allowed the Gargoyles to walk during the day instead of turning to stone. Her family had always told her not to trust a Gargoyle or anyone else who wasn’t human because they couldn’t be trusted.
”Do you think we’re asking too much?” Lucy and her had been friends all through high school and Syd couldn’t ask for a better roomie. The sage was burning faster than she wanted so she grabbed the dish that she’d set out on a bookcase and started to dab at the edges to put some of the herb out and slow the burning process. She watched Lucy and could tell that her friend was nervous about what they were doing. So was she but not nearly as much as Luce. ”I mean.. is it maybe not enough? Could we get more?”
The whole dorm room had a flowery scent to it from the smudge stick and she realized that maybe that would be enough. She didn’t need to burn the whole stick in their tiny dorm when her mother used a whole one on her entire house. “This isn’t something you can buy at the store. It’s rare and it took a lot of work for us to get it right so we deserve every cent we’re asking for,” Sydney explained as she put the dish and smudge stick into the tiny kitchen sink and put it out so there wouldn’t be anymore smoke. The sage was keeping her calm and now it was time for Lucy..
”Maybe we shouldn’t be doing this in the apartment.” She looked over her shoulder to see Lucy moving one of the pillows on the couch. It looked better where she put it. “The apartment is fine! Do I need to sedate you?” She asked with a teasing smile. She had natural medicines that she used from time to time. She wasn’t an expert with medicinal herbs but she knew how to make small things like sleeping aids and ointments to help heal sunburn. Anything beyond that she knew a family of Geomancers who held a shop and she’d just go there and fetch it.
”Maybe we need, like.. a ring pimp or something. Hey, you’re sort of black, do you know any pimps?” Sydney gave Lucy a look as if she were appalled that she’d say such a thing but gave a fake gasp with it. It was just a joke. Besides, Sydney knew that Lucy was really jealous of her darker skin. Walking around the furniture she came to stand in front of Lucy and put her hands on her friend’s shoulders and stared at her with a serious look on her face. “Hey.. just take a deep breath okay? We’re going to be fine.. and if he gives us a hard time then you kick his ass while I climb out the window.” She broke into a big smile and gave her friend a big hug. “It’s okay..” she wasn’t sure who she was trying to convince; Lucy or herself.

For a half a second Lucy thought she might have offended Sydney by the look on her face, but it was just the nerves making her jumpy. Racist jokes had never bothered her dark roommate before just as gay jokes, when in good fun, never offended her. Lucy wasn't exactly "out" in most senses of the word. Sure, those closes to her knew, and even her parents were aware of it now, though they still insisted it was a phase, but she didn't go around publicly announcing it, and unless it came up she kept it to herself. It wasn't as if she were embarrassed about it, but she knew people could be ignorant and there was no sense bringing up confrontation when unnecessary. That said, she would proudly hold her girlfriends hand in public, that is if she ever got one.
Sydney came to her and slid her hands on her shoulders, and again Lucy was grateful that her best friend was close to her height. Being short sucked, and it was nice that her friend didn't tower over her. “Hey.. just take a deep breath okay? We’re going to be fine.. and if he gives us a hard time then you kick his ass while I climb out the window.” Sydney's smile was infectious and Lucy offered her own meek, round faces grin in return. She wasn't the ass kicking type, and they both knew it. “It’s okay..” Lucy took a deep breath and then nodded, but the smile faltered when there was a sudden knock on the door.
"Oh, God.." She muttered softly, looking past Sydney to the door. "Okay.. Okay, we got this. It's going to be okay.." She nodded, obviously trying to give herself a pep talk as she made her way to the door, her fingers tugging at each other as her small frame approached the wooden panel separating her from the buyer. One last glance over her shoulder at Sydney's encouraging face before turning and opening the door.
The man standing on the other side of the door was well groomed and dressed nicely. He looked slightly worn out but there was nothing that seemed overly intimidating about him, except maybe his slightly icy green eyes. Overall he was a handsome guy, not that Lucy was interested but even she could appreciate the male form. "Miss Jackson?" He inquired in a cool voice and Lucy gave a sort of smile and shook her head. "No, uh.. she's inside. Would you, uh.. would you like to come in?" She asked and the man nodded, coming inside with his gaze now set on Sydney. Lucy turned and gave Sydney a look that clearly showed she was freaking out a little now that the man's eyes were off of her. "Do you have the ring?" He asked the darker girl in that low, gruff voice that did strange things to Lucy's stomach. She shouldn't have had that third slice of pizza..

Sydney was pleased to see her joke settled Lucy’s nerves even if it would only last a few minutes. Lucy could be spazzy sometimes but it was cute. They both had their own little quirks. Her lips were slowly spreading into a big grin when there was a knock at the door and her mouth froze. ”Oh, God..” Just like that Lucy was going to lose it again. ”Okay.. Okay, we got this. It’s going to be okay..” The little pep talk that Lucy gave herself was her way of staying calm and Sydney breathed out a soft sigh before patting Lucy on the shoulder. Hopefully Lucy could keep it together just long enough for them to get the money and then send the Gargoyle on his way. Syd quickly moved across the living room to a little oak box on the end table and pulled out the special ‘merchandise’ that had them all rattled and slipped it into the left pocket of her jeans. Her right pocket was already full..
She moved back to the middle of the living room and rubbed her palms against the front of her jeans. Sydney was just as nervous if not more than Lucy but she tried not to let it show. When Lucy looked over her shoulder Sydney gave her a reassuring nod and then watched as her roommate opened up the door. She couldn’t see the Gargoyle from where she was standing. ”Miss Jackson?” He had a deep and unfamiliar voice that sounded strange coming into the apartment. ”No, uh.. she’s inside. Would you, uh.. would you like to come in?” The man must have gestured that he wanted to come in because she didn’t hear him say anything.
When the man came inside she held her breath before letting it out slow trying to keep it quiet. Truth be told she was terrified that this man might be dangerous and that they were in over their head. But if he tried to be aggressive then she had made a special “insurance” satchel to be sure her and Lucy would be safe. She could see Lucy behind the man making faces that told Syd that she was spooked. ”Do you have the ring?” She had to admit that he was attractive but he did give her the heebie jeebies because he was a Gargoyle. She lifted her chin and straightened her posture to make her look strong. “Do you have the money?” Her and Lucy had watched many a movie together where they did back alley transactions or undercover busts where they needed to see the money before they showed the merchandise. She couldn’t help but feel like they were playing out a scene from a movie. She just hoped that Lucy didn’t cave..

“Do you have the money?” Lucy Schmidt wished she had the balls her roommate had. She gave the gargoyle that deadpan look and she simply watched in awe, her lower jaw slightly slack. The man turned and gave Lucy a look and she immediately shut her mouth and straightened up, puffing her chest out in an attempt to look tough, but in reality she looked like a retarded bird trying to win a mate. The gargoyle turned back to Sydney and reached inside his coat. Lucy slowly put her hand out reaching for the lamp in case he pulled out a gun or something, but she stopped herself when she saw the black leather wallet being extracted from the fine, probably Armani suit.
"I think we agreed on four thousand?" He asked in that deep, sultry voice of his and Lucy held her breath, watching Sydney and then the guy. "Yep, four hundred! I mean thousand! Yea.." She sounded nervous though she was trying hard to sound confident. She moved a little closer to her roommate, skirting around the man like he was made of poison. He gave her a funny look which made her cheeks turn hot and then opened the wallet and took out a wad of cash. Holy shit, he was paying in cash! Well, they had asked for cash, so it made sense. She wondered if the guy could hear her heart beating from where she was. She watched him count out the money and finally reach it out towards them. Nervously Lucy took it and began counting. The bills were crisp and fresh, all hundreds. She was going to get looks at the bank if she brought those in.
"I'll count." She told Sydney softly, looking at the guy as she got down to counting the bills. It took a moment, but she nodded to her roommate. "Four thousand." She told her softly and the man looked annoyed, obviously wanting his product so he could get the hell out of dodge. She watched as Sydney turned to get the ring, Lucy watching for a moment before turning back to the guy. "So.." She asked conversationally, sounding awkward an nervous try as she may not to. "Going someplace sunny?" She asked offering a knowing sort of smile and nod as if she knew his destination when she didn't. He offered an annoyed look which wiped the smile from her face and forced her to look away, embarrassed.
Sydney brought the man his goods and he took it, examining it before sliding it on. Lucy watched to see if he would say something about it or accuse them of trying to cheat him, but he seemed satisfied with the rings magical properties and gave a nod, sliding it off and pushing it into his inside pocket where his wallet was resting. "That's everything then." He said with a nod and Lucy nodded. "Yup!" she gushed anxiously, pushing her hands on her hips with a nervous sort of smile. "You, uh.. you have fun with that! And tell all your friends!" She inwardly cringed at how idiotic she sounded and looked apologetically at Sydney for sounding like such a tool. She was going to get it when the guy finally left.

Sydney didn’t know why she and Lucy were friends sometimes. Where Sydney was calm and collected and a master of keeping her feelings to herself, Lucy wore hers on her sleeve for everyone to see. Sydney could hold a conversation without skipping a beat where Lucy stammered and rambled her way through. Sydney gave off confidence where Lucy seemed to ooze out her lack of. Maybe that was why they were friends. They were opposites and they kept one another entertained. Sydney loved having Lucy as her friend.
She watched Lucy skitter her way over to her side while the gargoyle watched her move around and make odd gestures, puffing her chest out like some strange animal. For a moment Sydney thought he might say something but he reached into the pocket of his coat and she could see Lucy’s hand moving out from the corner of her eye. What in the world was that girl doing? ”I think we agreed on four thousand?” Syd didn’t say anything but gave a nod of her head to confirm that was the asking price for the ring. ”Yep, four hundred! I mean thousand! Yea..” She glanced at Lucy again out of the corner of her eyes and bit down on her tongue, afraid that the gargoyle might try to haggle them because of Lucy’s blunder. But lucky for them he handed the money over to Lucy and she started to count it. Maybe it was because she felt uncomfortable and a little petrified with the strange gargoyle in their dorm, but it felt like it took Lucy forever to count out the cash.
”Four thousand.” She heard Lucy say and slowly exhaled her relief. At least this man wasn’t going to try and cheat them. They’d followed the instructions to a tee and Sydney even had Hunter check it out with his friend to be sure it was an exact replica of the one they had made. When they confirmed that it was she let Lucy know and they made sure they put the ‘recipe’ in a safe place so it wouldn’t get lost or fall into the hands of someone else. This was their business plan and Sydney wanted to be sure there weren’t going to be any other sellers out there to compete with them.
”So..” Syd took her attention off the Gargoyle and set it on her roommate. ”Going someplace sunny?” Oh Lucy.. Syd thought and grimaced slightly, wanting to shake her head but deciding it was better not to. The look the gargoyle gave Lucy made it known that he wasn’t up for conversation and Sydney didn’t blame him. She just wanted him to leave and get out of their lives now that the transaction was done and over with. Sydney took the ring out of her pocket and stepped toward the man, placing it flat in his palm and then stepped back beside Lucy so the two of them could watch the man put the ring on his finger and inspect it. She wasn’t sure what it would feel like for a gargoyle to wear it but she knew it held magical properties. ”That’s everything then.” She was going to say ‘it’s been a pleasure doing business with you’ and then gestured to the door but Lucy was the first to open her mouth again. ”Yup! You, uh.. you have fun with that! And tell all your friends!” Maybe Lucy shouldn’t be home the next time they sold a ring..
Not wanting Lucy to make more of a fool of herself and disliking the looks that the gargoyle gave her friend, Sydney stepped past the man and went to the door, opening it and leaning against it. It was obvious that she was ready for him to leave with the way she stood there and watched him. “If you know anyone else looking you have the number. Just place an order and give us a few days to get it ready.” That was her way of saying ‘what Lucy MEANT to say was this,’ without throwing her friend under the bus to look like an idiot. Hopefully they’d get more orders and they’d be able to make more money. Four thousand was going to help them pay for some of their schooling but it wasn’t enough to cover all those loans.. not just yet.

Lucy was grateful when Sydney quite literally showed the man the door, opening it for him and everything. “If you know anyone else looking you have the number. Just place an order and give us a few days to get it ready.” Lucy didn't say a damn word, staying put and folding her left arm over her chest, gripping her right arm with it. Why did she need to be such a freak? Surely there were calmer ways to handle this sort of thing.. like how Syd had just done. The man nodded and Lucy looked up skeptically as he threw one last glance her way, making her blush. Finally, he was gone and Sydney shut the door.
"Okay, I know what you're thinking.." She said immediately, holding a hand up defensively, "But if you really think about it, I handled that kind of well, right? Like.. not really well since I was kind of an idiot, but the point is we have the money, he has the ring, we're alive, and.. yeah, that's basically it, but it could have been worse!" She insisted giving a half smile, encouraging Sydney to give her one back even though she had been acting like an idiot.
The girl plopped down on the tiny couch they had in their dorm suite, tossing the wad of cash on the little make shift coffee table. She knew Syd was going to read her the riot act about what a freak she'd been, but she couldn't deny it had been thrilling! "And we're rich!" She added, leaning forward and looking at the bills, spreading them out on the table. "If we sell, like, thirty thousand rings our debt will be completely paid off!"

When the man finally walked out the door Sydney shut it behind him and flipped the lock in case he decided to try and come back inside. Not that she figured a measly wooden door was going to stop a gargoyle from barging in if he really wanted to but he didn’t seem interested in them, just the product. She turned around and leaned back against the door so she could take a good look at her roommate.
”Okay, I know what you’re thinking..” Did Lucy really know what she was thinking? ”But if you really think about it, I handled that kind of well, right? Like.. not really well since I was kind of an idiot, but the point is we have the money, he has the ring, we’re alive, and.. yeah, that’s basically it, but it could have been worse!” It could have been a lot worse. Lucy could have said something to really screw it up, but she did a really good job of keeping herself pulled together. ”And we’re rich!” Any scolding that she might have prepared for Lucy slipped away at the mention of them being rich. Her stern look melted away to be replaced with a big grin and she pushed off the door to make her way across the room. She reached into her pocket and pulled out the satchel that she’d filled with herbs in case they stranger was dangerous. After dropping it down on the table beside the bills she plopped down on the couch beside her roommate.
”If we sell, like, thirty thousand rings our debt will be completely paid off!” Sydney raised a brow at Lucy and nodded her head with a teasing look. “Only thirty thousand?” It was only the first ring and she didn’t want to get ahead of herself. There was no telling how many gargoyles there were out there or what their interests were in the rings. But if every gargoyle was interested in a daylight ring then they could make bank. They could have their tuition paid off before they had their diploma! “We don’t know how many rings we’ll have to make or if we’ll even get any more orders.” She wasn’t trying to be a downer, she just wanted to be realistic.
“And you did great, Luce..” She offered to let her friend know that she wasn’t mad at her. She was a goof who fumbled over what to say in tough situations but she did well. “A little chatty but that’s just you,” Sydney nudged her and then scooped up a couple of the crisp hundred dollar bills, spreading them out in her hand and jokingly fanning herself. “Maybe we could use some of our hard earned money to treat ourselves to something nice?” They did have four thousand afterall.

“Only thirty thousand?” She knew that Sydney was teasing her and she gave a bashful sort of shrug. "Okay, maybe not that many." She said softly, doing the math. They would need to only sell about thirty five rings to completely pay off their student loans. “We don’t know how many rings we’ll have to make or if we’ll even get any more orders." Lucy was certain more than one gargoyle would want this kind of ring and once the word got out they would be hitting it big! Heck, maybe she could get a new car! Maybe she could even get her brother Jake in on this! She could probably even help pay for Max's braces! "I bet we'll get a bunch of orders once the word spreads." She offered hopefully, thinking about how lucrative this sort of business could be. They would be in high demand!
“And you did great, Luce..” Her smile was gentle and sincere as she looked at her beautiful roommate. "A little chatty but that’s just you,” Sydney nudged and Lucy let out a soft, shy laugh, shrugging her shoulders. "Yeah, well.. who doesn't love a socially awkward Jew, huh?" She teased back a little meekly. Her eyes followed Lucy as she scooped the money up, though. “Maybe we could use some of our hard earned money to treat ourselves to something nice?” Syd offered, fanning herself with the bills.
Lucy thought about it for a moment. She was suddenly two grand richer. She could do anything! This was the first of probably several thousand dollars she would come to possess over the next year and a shy, but wicked smile creased her lips. "We could, couldn't we.." She said, liking the idea, but what the hell would they buy? "Uhh.. like what?" Lucy wasn't much into jewelry or anything, but she supposed she could use some new clothes. "Shopping?" She suggested. "Food? Uhh.. booze? We could get all shnookered up, eh? Wine coolers on me?" She raised her brow, a big silly grin on her face.

”Okay, maybe not that many.” You couldn’t help but just love Lucy for her strange quirks. ”I bet we’ll get a bunch of orders once the word spreads.” That’s exactly what Sydney thought as well, knowing that if the Gargoyle found that the ring suited his needs he’d spread the word to others of his kind and then they would have more orders than they’d be capable of filling. The work was easy with the proper spell and it was a simple way to make money without trying to juggle a real job and their classes.
”Yeah, well.. who doesn’t love a socially awkward Jew, huh?” Sydney chuckled and shook her head. It was true. Who could resist a socially awkward Jew who referred to herself as a socially awkward Jew? One of Lucy’s best qualities was her ability to make fun of herself and have such an amazing sense of humor.
When she mentioned using the money she could see the gears grinding in Lucy’s head as she tried to process what Sydney had just said. ”We could, couldn’t we..” Of course they could! They each had two thousand dollars to spend any way they pleased and they didn’t have to spend it on tuition if they didn’t want to. If they were smart that’s what they would do. But a little splurging would only give them more incentive to make more rings. ”Uhh.. like what?” She gave Lucy a long look and shook her head from side to side slowly. She had no imagination.. ”Shopping? Food? Uhh.. booze? We could get all shnookered up, eh? Wine coolers on me?”
Wine coolers? Shnookered up? Sydney let out a loud laugh and leaned back into the couch getting more comfortable. “You know what? Why don’t we make some more rings and then throw a party? My parents are taking a second honeymoon in Hawaii in a week and I told them I’d watch their house and my sister. She can spend a night at a friends. Empty house? Money for drinks and rings to sell? What could be better?” She shrugged and gave her friend a hopeful look. She really did luck out getting Lucy as her roommate for college, and hopefully she wouldn’t get too frazzled about her idea of a party.

Lucy felt good about her roommate laughing at her small joke. “You know what? Why don’t we make some more rings and then throw a party? My parents are taking a second honeymoon in Hawaii in a week and I told them I’d watch their house and my sister. She can spend a night at a friends." Throw a party? Lucy had never thrown a party before. "Empty house? Money for drinks and rings to sell? What could be better?”
Lucy looked at the money on the table considering what Sydney was suggesting. She had never been the partying type, preferring to sit around in someone's living room eating cheetos and watching a movie or playing guitar and jamming playfully. They type of party Sydney was suggesting sounded like the type they had in every teen movie and television show. Red cups full of beer, wily teenagers strewn about, barfing into heirloom vases and drawing mustaches on the family portrait over the fireplace.. Did parties like that actually ever happen?
Her imagination had managed to run off with her and then she thought that a party sounded fun. They didn't know enough people for it to get out of control. Lucy would invite her brother and a few friends, and Sydney would invite all the people she knew, which was actually a lot, but she couldn't imagine it would get out of control! Right?
Not wanting to seem like a complete pussy she smiled and nodded. "You know what? Let's do it! Let's sell these bad boys and throw an awesome party!" She agreed, nodding. "It'll be fun, right? I mean, everyone needs to throw college parties from time to time. What's college without parties?" Even as she said it she knew it sounded like sort of a bad idea, but she could go with it! It's time Lucy Schmidt stopped acting like a baby.

Sydney sat there watching her roommate, trying to be patient while Lucy thought it over but Syd was sure she must have looked anxious with raised brows and a tight smile. When she nodded Sydney clapped her hands with excitement. ”you know what? Let’s do it! Let’s sell these bad boys and throw an awesome party!” “Yes!” She threw her fists up in the air victoriously. ”It’ll be fun, right? I mean, everyone needs to throw college parties from time to time. What’s college without parties?” Luce wasn’t the party type. Sydney could go either way. She enjoyed a night in with a big bowl of popcorn and a chick flick, gushing over how hot the main actor was (and sometimes even an actress would catch her eye), but then she could turn around and party her little heart out with the best of them. She tried not to get too wild but sometimes it happened. A tapped keg and some obnoxious techno music always brought out her wild side. But Lucy was more of a stay at home all the time kind of girl. Syd always invited her to parties but she didn’t always look comfortable around big crowds of people she didn’t know. But this party would be different. It would be their party and they’d be selling rings during it. That should be enough incentive to keep Lucy from getting too uncomfortable, right?
“Exactly. College is for partying and doing the things you can’t do when you go out in the real world. Like experimenting or selling magical rings,” she teased her friend and gave her another little nudge before her eyes moved down to the money once again. It had been a piece of cake and for such a small amount of work. A smile slowly crept over the girl’s lips and she gave Lucy her you-know-what-I’m-thinking look. “Why don’t we work on a batch right now? We have everything we need. It will be fun,” Sydney loved to practice her magic and doing it with Lucy was even better than doing it alone. She was glad that she had a friend who was special like she was. Even though she had her family to talk to about anything related to their magical abilities, it was nice to have a friend to share it with. She wouldn’t be judged with Lucy the way that she was with her own relatives. If she tried to experiment with herbs that they didn’t approve of then she was scolded about the consequences. Then again Lucy wasn’t much of the adventurous type either..
“Where did you put the rings?” She wasn’t sure if Lucy was up for making more moon rings just yet. She wasn’t sure if she was still coming down from her nervousness just yet. If she wasn’t up for it then Lucy would just start working on a grocery list for their party. She’d have to lock some of the priceless items her parents had in the garage so they didn’t get broken.. maybe she could hire a cleaning service afterwards. They were definitely going to have a major party. “We could pop in a movie or just light up some candles?” She was too excited now to hit the books or turn in for the night. Plus it was still early.

“Exactly. College is for partying and doing the things you can’t do when you go out in the real world. Like experimenting or selling magical rings,” She narrowed her eyes playfully at her friend and wrinkled her nose at her in jest. She liked that they had an easy relationship even though they were very different. She never felt judged by Sydney and that was important. “Why don’t we work on a batch right now? We have everything we need. It will be fun,” She had to admit it did sound like fun. Doing magic together instead of studying for tests? Yes please! Especially since this would probably make her more money than the tests would. They were essentially sitting on a goldmine! "I'm down!" She insisted, thinking maybe they could even share a join in the process. Then they would need to open the windows though, and it was frigid out! “Where did you put the rings? We could pop in a movie or just light up some candles?” Lucy stopped for a moment. Where DID she put the rings? Light up! "In my desk, bottom drawer under the old notebooks with my stash." She grinned. "Why don't you grab my box? We can share a fattie." She tried to hold back the laughter at the ridiculous name for pot she offered. Lucy didn't come off as the stoner type and in reality she wasn't a stoner but the girl knew how to relax now and then and if they were going to be sitting and making a bunch of rings that would bring them literally thousands of dollars each and potentially put them in harms way, she would need to smoke a little. She was definitely the nervous type. Lucy went to her computer and went through the list of movies they had. Her brother, the computer nerd, hooked them up so they could watch illegally downloaded movies on their TV streamed from her computer. It was good to be related to nerds sometimes. She considered again maybe letting Brian in on this but it would really be up to Sydney. She could just pass a little dough to her brother. It would be the sisterly thing to do. "Alright, lets do this!" She announced, double clicking on a movie as Syd came over with the rings and her stash. It was time to get rich! ------------------------------END------------------------------
