Features: His head of brown hair has a few straw grays peaking through which makes him look not half bad considering his real age. He has dull brown eyes and his long nose is probably the one feature about him that stands out. He's very average in personality and his bland sense of style makes him blend in even more in a crowd.
Sexual Preference [Optional]: Straight
Ethnicity: Italian and Polish but mostly just goes by being called white.
Marks/Tattoos/Visible Scars: A whole lot of nothing.

Flaws/Weaknesses: Gert has a bit of an OCD problem, causing him to have a mental nervous breakdown when something is out of place (like a tile in the floor being the wrong shape). But he tries his best not to show that outwardly although he knows it's obvious. He's also on the timid side which makes him a 'joke of a leader' so to speak.
Skills/Strengths: Despite being a joke to some of the other leaders' expense, he is very smart. He looks at every aspect of a situation in a rather bleak and cowardly way, but it helps to bring perspective to the table around others. He's caring and considerate of others and he always puts his people before himself.

History:
Gert was always a quiet person, even when he was a young boy. He looked at life the way someone who thought the impending apocalypse would look at it. His parents explained to him all about the different Guardians and how they were special, but nobody as special as Gertie was. He thought that was a load of bull even at such a young age. He'd sit around in the dewy grass after a morning shower in the spring and watch the other Blurr children frolic about happily. It wasn't that Gert wasn't happy, he just didn't like to frolic about. He preferred to sit in the grass and watch the other kids. He had more fun on the sidelines, observing and thankful that he wasn't the one out there getting messy and germy. Yuck!
When Gertie grew older, he found an interest in Guardian politics, so he got a job as something of a secretary who would follow around the other members of their small little government, taking notes and running errands for them.
But politics wasn't the only thing that he found an interest in. He found himself in love with a young woman who worked as a school teacher, Sarah. The two of them found themselves married within three years time and in two more years they welcomed their son, Gustav, named after Gert's father and was the apple of their eyes.
As time progressed Gert found himself moving up in the political world of Blurrs until he was the second in command. One late evening while gathered in a meeting, the Blurr leader clutched his heart and fell out of his chair. They tried to help the man but he was beyond saving, dying then and there from a massive heart attack. It had been a long time coming, the leader had four other minor heart attacks in his lifetime and his health had been failing. But it left Gert moving up to leader status.
He spent his years raising his son who turned out to be a little more than him and his wife could handle, and also raising the Blurrs as if they too were his children. He loved his Blurr family and as a leader tried to make choices that would keep them safe and choices that he would hope for of a leader.
