Liam smiled at the way Marius and Abby met: “As a matter of fact, yes. She’d sprained her ankle at the beach. I found her sitting on one of the exam tables in the ER. Unprofessional as it might have been I couldn’t help myself and asked her to have dinner with me.” Liam understood perfectly what it felt like to just be swept away by a woman. By the end of the night he met Flynn, he had already felt smitten with her and felt his usual cool, calm demeanor slip. His humor wasn’t as dark around her and he just couldn’t help but be happier. “I know the feeling,” he said, smiling over at Flynn briefly before looking back to Marius. “I get a lot of criminals in the ER on the graveyard shift. They’ve gotten in fights or drugs, whatever the reason, an officer brings them in and I’m the one who gets assigned to most of them.” Liam gave a light chuckle, nodding. “Yeah, those are the fun ones. I bet you have a great time trying to tend to them,” he said sarcastically, smiling wide. He’d seen plenty of drunk and high people going into the lock up in his work at the station. He rarely dealt with them directly, though if there was too much of a struggle, Liam would offer his assistance in restraining them. His incredible strength made it easy for him to do that.
His attention was called to the women’s conversation once more, hearing Flynn asking about Abby’s garden and tea. “Her garden is exceptional. It should be featured in a magazine.” Liam smiled at the way Abby snuggled into Marius, obviously a little embarrassed about the compliment, but graciously not denying it. Gardening had never been an interest for him, though the functions of plants did interest him. Abby may be able to teach him something too, not just Flynn, who seemed ecstatic at the idea of learning something new from Abby. She was always so excitable. She offered to teach Abby how to knit and Abby gladly accepted before writing her number on a napkin and handing it to Flynn. Liam shook his head in wonder and looked at Marius, still holding Flynn’s hand. “They have so much energy and make friends so easily. How do they do that?” he asked with awe and a chuckle. Abby laughed at what he said, noting how different men and women were, and Liam had to agree. Though how Flynn and Liam had found a couple so much like themselves, he wasn’t sure.
Within a few more minutes, Liam and given Marius his card and they all agreed they would have to meet up again at some point. The girls seemed more than happy to come up with ideas for what they could do to get together as a double date, and the men just stood back and agreed with their ideas. After a while, Marius invited Abby to dance again, which she seemed more than happy to do, and Liam did the same for Flynn. He had to admit, he was excited to meet some new people and was pleased at the idea that not only had he possibly made a new friend, but Flynn had made one as well.
