History:
Born in 1978 in Solca, the second smallest town in Romania, Marius was the middle child. He had an older brother, Adrian, and a younger sister, Lavinia. Being only two years apart they all grew up pretty close. At the age of six, when Lavinia was only two, their parents decided to leave Romania and set off for America. Jobs were far and few in their town but they had heard through relatives that lived in the states that there was more opportunity for them there.
America was everything that the Dakanis family dreamed of, their parents both set out to work in Boston, Massachusettes, placing their children in school or in Lavinia's case, child care. The boys adapted to their new life in a new country, learning english which had been difficult at first, they were quick learners. In Romania they spoke Romanian and German so English was just another language for them to add to the list.
They spent the next ten years perfectly content, the children in school with their parents working different odd jobs, whatever paid the best at the time. Until Marius' father was laid off that winter and the unemployment rate began to increase. Jobs were far and few apart and soon the little savings that they had started to deplete, going towards food and bills. Their financial problems turned into marital problems that in turn lead to his parents deciding to separate. Having nowhere else to go, Marius' father decided to head back to Romania where he still had family. Only Adrian and Marius decided to go back with him, feeling they had an obligation to care for their father. Their mother had a decent job and once she got a smaller place for her and Lavinia, they were able to live comfortably.
When Marius was seventeen and close to graduation he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. He'd been an above average student, keeping his grades up, but he had no desire for anything in particular.
That was until he met her.
His father's family had a farm and although they did have electric they chose not to use it unless it was absolutely necessary. So Marius was sent out to chop wood for the fireplace when in the not so far distance he heard what sounded like something crashing in the woods behind the farm. Axe in hand he set out to find out what made all the noise, only to find a woman. A beautiful woman who appeared to be injured. After a few exchanges, trying to calm her down and convince her that he wasn't going to hurt her, he finally was able to get close enough to see what the problem was. It appeared she'd fallen and had managed to cut herself on a sharp branch, leaving a long gash down her side. It had been a struggle but he finally convined her to remove her shirt so he could try and stop the bleeding when he saw them.
This woman.. she had wings sprouting out of her back. Beautiful brown wings that looked like they belonged to a bird! Each feather perfectly in place and trembling with fear. He was speechless and tried to take in the sight of the woman until she cried out in pain, reminding him that she was injured. This woman was a gem, one of a kind, or so he thought. He'd managed to bring her back to the farm and hide her in the barn and stole some bandages from in the house. After patching her up he'd offered her shelter until she was better which she took reluctantly. A few days passed before she began to warm up to him, taking clothes, food and any other aid that he gave her. She told him stories of people who had beautiful wings, of men who turned to stone when the sun came up, and all other sorts of tales. At first he was reluctant to believe her but he'd seen her wings with his own two eyes.
After only two weeks it was time for her to be on her way. She'd healed up nicely and had to get back to her journey. She'd made him promise not to tell anyone about the secrets she'd told him, that if he did it would put her in danger. She also told him of a city in the United States that was home to her kind and if he ever wanted to find her, then that was where he should look.
When the woman departed it was then that it clicked. He had enjoyed helping her, she had been so unique, so special. He realized it must have been difficult for someone like her to find help and if he hadn't offered it she might have bled out in the woods behind the farm all alone. That was when he realized he wanted to see her again, and he wanted to help others like her as well. After graduation Marius decided to go on to college and eight years later graduated third in his class as a doctor.
Now he resides in Scriptor Bay working at the hospital and taking any case that seems to be odd. He's made a few connections over the few years he'd been there and the Guardians who know of him know that he's willing to help them, no questions asked.
RP Sample:
It had taken a bit of time but Claire and Griffin had managed to get out of the museum and away from all the ruckus undetected. On their way out of there Claire had managed to boost two bottles of champagne out of a banquet cart and took those with her! It was going to be a long night and she was going to need herself a decent drink.
It took some time for them to hail a cab with the mess and the fire department and the police showing up but when it finally came Claire climbed into the back and scooted over so that Griffin could get in on the same side.
"Megsy Isle please." She instructed to the cab driver, which was an Indian man and Claire stared at him a little longer than she meant to at first. Why were cab drivers such a stereotype?! Claire would never understand that.
She tried to stay quiet most of the trip, twisting off the cork and taking sips of the champagne during the ride. But almost as soon as they got in the car Cheyenne had called her up. "We're on our way." She told her sister before she hung up on the girl. She wasn't in the mood to talk to Cheyenne over the phone. Not in that very moment.
Looking over at Griffin she offered him a little grin, but her eyes showed that she wasn't feeling all that happy in that very moment. Although Claire's life usually reflected sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, that night was definitely not the best night of her life. But they did manage to get that skeleton out of there!
"Chey says they're just waiting on us." Was all she said to Griffin, keeping it short and simple. Not only did she not want the cab driver to hear what they were planning, but she just didn't feel very sociable with Griffin after their failed kiss.
