History: Abigail grew up well. She was the only child born to Henry and Sophia James. While her father was from a long line of Geomancers, in all other ways he was the average, run of the mill American. Her mother was the daughter of Italian immigrants who settled in Boston. The two met in college and Sophia agreed to raise a family with Henry in his hometown of Scriptor Bay, Oregon. Unfortunately, Sophia found it difficult to conceive a child, and after a string of miscarriages, she nearly gave up hope that she would be able to give Henry a child. When Abigail came into the world, they felt she was a miracle and they doted on her from the day she was born. She wasn’t spoiled, though, and she grew to be a sweet, charismatic little girl.
She displayed her abilities from a young age. It didn’t take her long to figure out which plants could help her achieve which ends, and she spent almost every day in her parents’ garden. Sophia knew what her husband was, and she was amazed at his abilities; that awe didn’t diminish with their daughter. Abby was always encouraged by both of her parents to learn botany and practice her magic. Henry was a large part of her learning process, and together they compiled a book of drawings of plants and described what each one could be used for what spells and potions. They were both talented artists, as was her mother, and it became a big family project. As she got older, she realized he sold much of the rare herbs and plants they grew in their yard and green house and he made a side business of it. He also sold potions, and she decided she wanted to do the same when she got older.
But what to do for a real job? Abby was a very talented artist, particularly when it came to landscapes. In high school she won several regional art competitions, and she decided she would become an art teacher. She was also very involved with the crew team at her school, and therefore she became quite popular. Not only was she popular among the popular kids, but she was popular with the other groups as well, known for her sweet, outgoing nature. With her pretty face and popularity, she became something of a party girl and revealed she had a penchant for attracting boys to her. She developed this and became something of a seductress, but only in private. She was never called a whore, as she never cheated, and she was just too amiable to be mean to.
When she went to college, she studied botany and art education, excelling in all of her classes, and she graduated summa cum laude, much to her parents’ delight. She got a job as an art teacher in the city of her college, but she found she missed home terribly. So she obtained a job as an art teacher at the high school in Scriptor Bay, and her parents help her to rent a small, one bedroom house where she can have an extensive garden. With no other children to worry about, they can afford the expense, and it also gives them a chance to see her regularly. Now mostly on her own, she’s enjoying her freedom while still trying to make a life for herself as an adult in Scriptor Bay. She’s taken over her father’s side business of selling herbs, plants, and potions and makes reasonable money for all of her hard work. She still likes to go out and party though, and she knows how to have fun.
