History: Gina’s mother, Nora, grew up in Scriptor Bay, a Therianthrope herself, but she went to the University of Georgia for college. While attending, she met a smooth-talking Georgian and fell in love. Halfway through her senior year, she found out she was pregnant. Gina’s father stuck around long enough for Nora to finish school, have Gina, and get a job as a middle school history teacher, before he skipped town. Having already settled into small town, Southern life, Nora raised her daughter away from Scriptor Bay. Eventually Nora’s mother came to live with them and help raise Gina. Nana, as Gina called her, told her all about the legend of Scriptor Bay and the two women did their best to prepare Gina for what would happen to her soon after puberty. Gina was excited for the change, wondering what form she would take when she finally came of age.
Until her high school years, it was just the three women living happily, though frugally, in their small house outside of Savannah, Georgia. Though her grandmother and her mother spoke without any distinctive accent, Gina acquired the Southern drawl of the kids she grew up with, something which both her mother and her grandmother found endearing about her. Life was quiet and relatively normal, despite the occasional money problems, but Gina came to want more. Watching TV and movies, she came to long for the streets of the city, the noise and bustle of a thriving metropolis. Small town life just wouldn’t cut it for the growing teenager.
When she transformed at the age of 13, she woke in the middle of the night with the worst case of stomach cramps she had ever experienced. She couldn’t even make it to the bathroom before she fell to her knees, gasping for air. It was so painful she started moaning, waking her mother and grandmother. The pain from her transformation made her break out in a sweat. She knew what was happening, though, and she wasn’t afraid. She watched as her hands slowly became paws and could feel her face elongating. When she emerged from the room a bushy tailed fox vixen, she found Nana the dingo and Nora the coyote waiting for her. The next day she got to take off school and the three women celebrated Gina’s transformation. Gina felt exotic and powerful, even at 13, and the world was her oyster.
Gina’s dreams of a bright future were cut short, though. When she was 14, she and Nana came home from the movies late one night to find Nora beaten bloody on the living room floor, her clothes ripped and strewn around her. She had been raped and beaten almost to within an inch of her life. Nora was never the same after that. There had been very few men in their house while Gina was growing up, but now there seemed to be a man in the house constantly. He was in the shadows, hiding in the closets, looking in the windows, waiting to strike again; at least, that was how her mother thought. Nora did little but go to work, come home, and worry constantly about her beautiful young daughter. Gina felt stifled by it, trapped by her mother’s need to have her there all the time, but she knew how much her mother relied on her. She knew all hopes of moving to the big city were gone, and she would be stuck with her mother for the rest of her life. When she turned 18, she resolved all three of them would move back to Scriptor Bay, hoping her hometown might calm her mother.
Nora returned to Scriptor Bay when Gina turned 18, but it was in a pine box. The last year of her life, Nora slowly deteriorated further and further into depression and madness, a decline which increased dramatically when she lost her job at the middle school. Nana was forced to find work where she could, and Gina got two afterschool and weekend jobs to pay the bills. Nora felt guilty for crushing her daughter’s dreams, feeling like an anchor weighing Gina and her mother down, and she took her own life. Gina found her with a single bullet wound in her head, an image that still haunts her. The fox knew then she would do whatever it took to stop crimes like the one against her mother.
With her mother’s death, Gina got a little out of control, drunk on the freedom and needing to numb her pain. She went to New York City for college, leaving Nana in Scriptor Bay while she took in the grit and excitement of the city. Though she did well in school, she partied hard and indulged in the company of men. Her degree is in Anthropology with a minor in Sociology, subjects which she excelled in. Right out of college, she went through the police academy and became a member of the NYPD, and genuinely enjoyed her job while she continued to party it up. She enjoyed exerting power over men, taking back the power her mother lost, in a sense. She took what she pleased and offered no apologies for it.
Nana was falling into ill health, however, and Gina was called back to Scriptor Bay. Back in the area, she joined the SBPD, going back to doing what she did best, but not happy to be back in a small town. Her Southern drawl set her apart from most of the residents, but she found it was a whole new pool of fish to meet and greet. Taking care of Nana, she settled back in to the quiet life, taking as much as excitement as she could get.
RP Sample: “You have lost your God damn mind.” Gina was irritated that she now had blood on her new boots. But what was she supposed to do when men tried to attack her? The guy was groaning, his face a bloody mess as he rolled onto his side in the empty parking lot. Her crystal blue eyes glittered in the moonlight as she scowled at the piece of shit at her feet. She kicked him in the stomach one more time, causing him to yelp pathetically, and her heels clicked against the pavement as she strutted away. Being a member of the SBPD and a former member of the NYPD, she was prepared for the occasional drunk trying to get some T and A. Fortunately, there was no one around to berate her for beating the living shit out of the guy. She had a tendency to rough up suspects. In this case, she felt she had a damn good reason to kick the man’s ass; he had tried to mess around with a cop, and he got what he deserved. From the dark, secluded parking lot, she headed straight to her car to go home to her apartment. She briefly considered stopping for a pizza and devouring it, but decided against it; tonight she had a mission, one that didn’t consist of shoving greasy goodness into her pretty mouth. Instead, it involved a man.
Pushing her way through the door to her apartment building, she took the stairs to her apartment two at a time. It kept her thighs strong and her butt high and firm, though weight gain really wasn’t an issue; that was pretty apparent from the sheer amount of food she ate a day. Her heart was fluttering a little when she reached her door, and she practically tumbled into the brief hallway that led to the main living area of her apartment. She lived in a studio, so the entire space was really one room (minus the bathroom), but it was sectioned off into sleeping area and living area…at least that was the intention. Gina had clothes everywhere, papers and a couple case files strewn amidst the mess. Her coffee table was buried in books, as was her chair. When she wanted to sit, she sat on the little circle of floor that was clearly visible amongst the mess, or on her unmade bed.
“I’m gonna get laaaid,” she sang as she walked into her closet to change, letting her voluminous platinum blonde hair free from the rubber band she had used to tie it up at work. She tossed the clothes she had worn to work into the overflowing hamper, but lovingly placed her boots in their proper place on her conspicuously clean shoe rack. The girl obviously had a shoe fetish. Stark naked, she threw on her sexiest undergarments and slipped a sequined dress over it when her phone dinged with a text message. Her heart jumped, and she skipped out of her closet to the purse she had thrown on the coffee table. Digging out her phone, she anxiously opened the message. ”Sorry, babe, but I’ll have to catch you next week. I had to catch a plane today on emergency business. Send me a photo?” Gina’s face fell and her shoulders slumped. This asshole had blown her off for the last time…okay, the first time, but it was the last time too. She gnashed her teeth at the message and threw the phone on a bra sprawled on the floor.
Slinking back into her closet, she chose an oversized T-shirt instead of the dress and stomped into the bathroom to take off her make-up. In New York, she would have been able to find another lay in a heartbeat, but not in Scriptor Bay. Men were often so disappointing. Her make-up removed, Gina satred long and hard at the face in the glass. It was a striking face, her lips full and wide, her eyes large and a bright blue, and she had beautiful hair that she kept cropped just above her shoulders which complimented her milky skin. So why was it so hard to find a dependable man? That was a question she feared she would never be able to answer. She didn’t feel like acknowledging the fear that she would never find someone who fit well with her, someone who could tame her wild nature.
“Dick,” she growled at the mirror, her inner fox sounding itself a little. She moved away to pour herself a big bowl of Cocoa Puffs and milk, and took a seat on her bed to wolf it down. The TV clicked on, she finished her bowl before she set it on the nightstand and fell back to her ever-inviting pillow. “Oh, Pillow, how I’ve missed you,” she drawled in her slow Southern accent. “Only you understand me, Pillow.” She turned over to face the window, her blue eyes finding the moon and holding it captive in her gaze. Her stare was full of loving adoration as the silver glow washed over her and penetrated her tired mind. Maybe Pillow was the only one who understood her, but the moon was the only thing that could fulfill her every need. It felt like her mother was looking at her from the moon, perhaps singing a lullaby or telling her the legend of Scriptor Bay once more. Gina laid still and let her mother soothe her weary soul.
