Sunday, Sunday..
There wasn't much to do on a Sunday night. Especially when one had classes in the morning, although Hunter would more than likely just skip them like he usually did on Monday mornings. He could never muster up the strength to get out of bed early enough for his classes, but luckily he had the same classes again on Thursdays and he made up what he could then. Not that he was a great student to begin with.
Because Sundays blew, Hunter was perched up in the Tree of Enlightenment with one leg on either side of one of its thicker limbs that were able to tolerate his weight. Not that he weight too much since he was lean and hardly had a muscle on him. A cigarette was between pursed lips and he sucked on the filter, filling his lungs with the thick smoke and then exhaling it through his nostrils.
Every so often he'd bounce up and down on the limb and cause a few of the leaves to detach. As they floated towards the ground he'd mutter a little chant under his breath and light them up, burning them and causing them to disintegrate before they even touched the ground. At least the dry ones that was. They were far and few apart since most of the leaves were damp from the last time it rained.
Hunter was attempting to adjust himself, feeling some discomfort from the way he was seated when the cigarette slipped out from between his lips and fell down into the grass that was quite a ways below. "Shit!" He hissed to himself and almost instantly got the feeling that he wasn't the only one in the park that Sunday night when he heard a twig break under someone's foot.

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Hadley was bored out of her ever-loving mind, and had decided to go for a walk. She was jonesing for a cigarette, but she'd been trying to quit, so she resisted the urge to light up. As she walked, she hummed a tuneless melody. Her voice wasn't half bad, but she only hummed or sang when no one could hear her.
She was passing under a particularly large tree when something smelling distinctly of nicotine fell at her feet, trailing smoke and lighting a few blades of grass on fire where it fell. She glanced upwards, only to see Hunter perched high above her in the boughs of the Tree of Enlightenment.
Hadley stamped out the cig and rolled her eyes upward to meet Hunter's own. "You're not sneaky, you know," she said by way of a greeting. "You know I hate it when you smoke. It's gonna rot your lungs and destroy that charming smile of yours." Her voice was warm but firm, making it clear that she was annoyed that Hunter had sneaked off to smoke.
Hadley was attempting to get him to quit, but so far she was having absolutely no luck. The best she could do was steal his packs and hide them, but he usually just went and bought more. Sometimes she stole the lit cigarette right out from between his lips and threw it out. Of course, Hunter was getting sneakier and sneakier about when and where he smoked, so Hadley secretly felt she was losing this particular battle. She would not give up, though!
She placed a sandaled foot on a low branch and pushed herself up, still gazing up at her friend. "What are you doing up there anyway? It's Sunday- shouldn't you be off, bringing religiosity to the fuzzy-wuzzies or some such?" Hadley, being a Christian, attended church faithfully every Sunday. As a matter of fact, she was still wearing her dress from church that very morning. She had walked straight from the sanctuary to the Tree, without really realizing that's where she was heading.

Hunter hadn't expected to find himself in the company of someone he actually knew. The girl was easily recognizable and when she spoke about his smoking habit he knew it was none other than Hadley. He let out a low sigh and rolled his eyes a bit, glad that he was high enough up that she probably couldn't notice. His eyes followed her as she slowly ascended into the tree and his right brow slowly began to make its way up.
"This coming from the church lady who used to smoke herself." Hunter snorted and folded his arms over his chest casually, his legs wrapped around the tree and holding him firmly there so that he wouldn't accidentally fall out. "You know it calms me down." The nicotine was such an addiction. It was more addicting than other drugs in his opinion and he'd tried other, much more harsh drugs that were out there. He had his own dealer who he'd get all his unique new products from. But cigarettes were something that was difficult to ween off of. He'd tried, but it would only lead to disaster with him. He didn't do well when he was deprived of the sweet nicotine.
"Church? Me? Please." Hunter had never been the religious type, and he had a feeling that his friend was simply teasing him. "I was raised in a Pagan family. Our God is mother nature pretty much." That was the easiest way for him to explain he thought. He always felt close to nature and for very good reasons.
"You know it wouldn't hurt if you skipped every once in awhile. I don't think God would punish you." His voice was soft and deep, almost calm in a sense. He leaned forward so he could reach into his back pocket and pull out his pack of cigarettes, plucking one out of the pack and setting the rest on the branch in front of him. He then reached into his front pocket of his black jeans and pulled out a lighter and lit that sucker as soon as it hit his lips. Let's see her come up here and take this one away. He thought to himself and a smirk played over his pursed lips.

"God might not punish me, but I like going to church. It's cathartic." She watched as Hunter deliberately plucked another cigarette from the package and lit it. She would have sworn he was doing it just to spite her. How irritating, and how endearing at the same time. Hunter was such a punk.
"Don't make me come up there," Hadley threatened, only half serious. Despite being an Avisaille, she was not fond of heights, and was not a particularly good climber. She'd just as soon stay on the ground.
At the very least, She climbed a few branches higher, just enough that she was close enough to knock Hunter's pack off the branch. She caught it deftly in one hand and pocketed it, making a mental note to throw them in a lake first chance she got.
"Can't you relax with yoga, or something equally healthy?" She needled him. She wasn't really sure why she was so hell-bent on getting Hunter to give up the smokes. Perhaps she really was concerned about his health, or perhaps she just wanted someone to go through quitting just so they'd appreciate the struggle she went through every day. But alas, alack, oh lack a day, it didn't seem like Hunter was the one who would do it. Oh well.
"What are you doing up there anyway?" She repeated her earlier question, which he had evaded. "Seriously, let's go do something. Or if you're determined to do the Nature Boy thing, lets do it on the ground. You know, not up high."
Hadley blinked up at her old friend and nodded her head toward the ground. "Come on down. The grass is finally dry after that storm last night and it's crazy soft. We can nap if you want. I don't care one way or the other."

When Hadley snatched away his cigarettes he let out a huffy sigh almost like he was about to pout. But at least he still had the one that was lit still, although he did feel a little bad for lighting it. Hadley had quit smoking and here he was lighting up one after another right in front of her face. So he took the cancer stick out of his mouth and pressed the lit end against the tree, putting it out. Some would say that was wrong to do, putting out a cigarette on the tree like that. But the tree was tough enough on its own. He nestled the cigarette in a little crook in the branch so that he could come back and get it later. It was hardly even smoked and with Hadley holding onto his pack he knew it would be a while before he could go and get another. It wasn't as if he was made of money or anything.
He swung his leg over the branch and like a monkey he moved from branch to branch, swinging and jumping until he was close to the ground. He was about to hop off the final limb when his foot got caught and he ended up plummeting instead, doing a flip and landing on his back. "Augh.." He groaned and rolled onto his side, slowly getting up. That was more painful than he expected it to be.
"There. I'm out of the tree, I'm smoke free, and I think I broke my spleen. Happy now?" He asked and got to his feet and tried to stretch out his back but felt the dull pain. It would be a few minutes but it would go away. He hoped anyway.
"Now that I'm down here, what will make you happy? Frolicking through the park?" He looked up at her and then held his hand out in case she needed help getting out of the tree. He found it funny that her of all people didn't like heights. And yet he loved them. He always wanted to go sky diving.

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , ---------------------------------------------------------------------
"There. I'm out of the tree, I'm smoke free, and I think I broke my spleen. Happy now?"
Hadley smiled her sweetest smile at Hunter and leaned far down from her branch and pecked him on the cheek. "Quite," she affirmed. "And the last thing on earth I want to see is your attempt at frolicking," she added. "You'd look like a drunk wildebeast." The amusing mental image of Hunter trying to move in any way other than his usual plodding gait was laughable. Hadley tried not to let it show on her face, but she was picturing him with his arms extended, a huge goofy grin on his face, eyes closed, frolicking and leaping through a field of daisies. The effort of not laughing was enough to bring tears to her eyes.
Hadley had once, long ago, hardbored a crush on Hunter, attracted to his bad-boy demeanor and sarcastic mien. She'd gotten over it pretty quickly, adopting him instead as a brother and partner in crime. Not that either of them ever got into too much trouble, but when they did, they were usually together when they got caught. Not if they got caught. When. Because they always did. That might have been the reason they didn't do all that much outside the law.
Hadley accepted Hunter's hand, which was warm and rough. For the briefest moment, she remembered what it had been like to want to be with him in a romantic context, and the thought crossed her mind that he had grown more and more handsome as the years had progressed. She hadn't taken the time to notice until now, and it took her slightly by surprise.
She didn't move, just standing on the branch with her hand resting in his, taking him in. He was taller than she was, but then again most people were. She was small, standing only five feet and a few inches. His shoulders were broad and his arms well-muscled, where Hadley was all graceful lines and slight curves. She pondered for a moment how she was at eye level with his chest when they stood on level ground, and even now, standing on her branch, she was barely a head taller than he was, even though he was standing on the ground.

Hunter kept his hand firm for Hadley when she grabbed it and.. just stood there. He eyed her suspiciously for a second before he finally cleared his throat and spoke up. "You just going to stand there and stare or are you going to get out of the tree?" He didn't know what she was looking at or why it was taking her so long but he laughed a little at her. She had clearly gone off in to her own little head of thoughts and forgotten about him. That, or she was just trying to take her time. Because he figured that half a foot jump that she needed to get out of the tree might just be too much.
"And my frolicking is the best in all the land!" He exclaimed and put a hand to his chest as if he were taking this a little too personal. But he was only messing with the girl and chuckled deeply when his hand dropped back down to his side before finding its way into his pocket.
"Great. So we can cross frolicking off the list. And so is smoking. Sooo.. skinny dipping?" He wriggled his brows at her in a playful sort of way but he didn't mean it. He always suggested the weirdest things to her. "Or we can just skip all that and head back to my dorm room. Because we both know that's where it's leading anyways." He shrugged nonchalantly and then let out a little chortle at what he said.
Truth be told he had slowly over the years grown a little crush on Hadley. He'd been in love once but he'd never told the girl that he'd fallen for her. By the time he wanted to it was already too late. A part of him wanted to tell Hadley how he felt about her over the time they spent together. But then again there was a piece of him that was still heartbroken inside from his last love. He was terrified of saying anything and thought that maybe if he did say something he'd lose Hadley too. So instead he buried his feelings deep down, not letting them come out. Ever, if he could help it.

Hadley snapped out of her little jaunt down memory lane and laughed nervously. "Sorry, zoned out," she said in response to Hunter's inquiry to whether or not she was just going to stand in the tree all day. She hastily made a move to jump down and promptly tripped over her long, flower-printed skirt and pitched forward. Thankfully Hunter wasn't far, and she landed on him with a shriek and a muffled "that hurt" against his shoulder.
She remained with her face buried in his shoulder just long enough to realize that he smelled quite nice indeed. Yes, that was definitely nice cologne.
Once she'd straightened up and readjusted the top half of her dress, she grinned sheepishly at her friend. "Good catch," she said said with a little giggle. "I knew I kept you around for a reason."
She realized with some surprise that she still had his hand in her own, and she quickly released her grip on him. He slid his hand toward his pocket and she rolled her eyes again as Hunter suggested that they go skinny dipping.
"I'm sorry, I seem to have left my "I want to get naked with you" feelings at home today," she teased him. "Try again next time." At the suggestion that they just head to his dorm, though, Hadley shrugged. "Sounds good to me. Got any booze there? I could use a little lowering of my inhibitions." She smiled at her old friend and communicated to him with her expression that she had a lot on her mind that she wanted to drown with alcohol.

When Hadley had tripped his eyes widened a bit but was glad that she managed to fall right into him. He looked down at her and swallowed hard trying to keep himself neutral. "You should be more careful there, klutz." He teased and when she stepped away a part of him wished that she'd fall into him again. But he knew he wasn't that lucky and he cleared his throat.
"I'm sorry, I seem to have left my "I want to get naked with you" feelings at home today,"
"Oh har har very funny." He said and gave her a mocking expression and then rolled his eyes. Hunter looked down at the ground and kicked at some of the leaves that were dry and crunch. He loved the way they sounded under his dirty grey converse sneakers. Only problem was that they were in the spring season and the crunchy dried up dead leaves were far and few apart these days. He wished fall would come already. It was his favorite season.
"Sounds good to me. Got any booze there? I could use a little lowering of my inhibitions."
He wasn't expecting her to actually say yes. But now that she did he shrugged and decided what the hell? "I have a six pack of Bud Light and a few of those mini bottles of alcohol that you find in hotel rooms?" He had stolen those from a hotel, naturally. Sometimes when he was bored he'd go up and down the different floors of the hotels and act as if he'd gotten lost and couldn't find his room key. Then he'd boost whatever he could off the carts that the maids pushed around but left outside when they were cleaning a room.
"Evan's probably in the library studying as usual. He pretty much lives there so we won't have to worry about his nerdy self pestering us." He smirked a little then started to walk. The campus wasn't far from the park and he knew that when they got back there he had a pack of cigarettes stashed under his bed. All he'd have to do is open a window and he'd be able to smoke away once Hadley had enough alcohol in her. Of course, he'd make sure he watched her. He didn't want her getting out of hand or anything.

Hadley grinned when Hunter affirmed her suspicion that there was alcohol in his dorm room. She knew she could count on her old partner in crime to break campus rules. Typical Hunter. As he mentioned that his roommate would be gone, Hadley wondered if anything might actually happen. It was an interesting prospect, but there was a large part of her that felt like messing around with Hunter, even just kissing him, would feel like making out with a brother. She twitched at the very thought.
Hunter started heading toward the edge of the park, toward campus, and Hadley hurried to catch up with him. Once she was close enough, she said "wait up!" and grabbed the back of his jacket to slow him down. "Carry me," she said with a playful grin, preparing to hop on his back like a living backpack. It would not surprise her in the least if he just turned around and threw her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, but she had to admit, backpack-style was her preferred method of travel, given a choice between the two.
"How have things been with Evan lately? Is he a decent roommate, other than being a little geeky?" Hadley had never actually met Hunter's roomie, but Hunter had mentioned him enough times in conversation that Hadley felt like she knew him fairly well. "And while we're on the topic of you," she added, "when are you going to finally start dating someone around here? You've been here long enough. You need a girlfriend. Hell, at least get laid. You're handsome enough."
This was the kind of casual banter that Hadley and Hunter enjoyed- talking about each other's personal lives and issues, without and prying or judgmental feelings about what was revealed to the other person. In fact, Hadley talked to Hunter about just about everything that happened in her life, with the exception of Avisaille related topics. She and Hunter both knew about each other's situations, but for some reason it just wasn't mentioned when they were together. She had never really questioned it.
With her arms around Hunter's neck and her legs wrapped around his waist, she held on as he moved toward the campus. Feeling distinctly mischievous, Hadley bit him on the head. "Your shampoo smells like strawberries," she said, by way of an explanation for the random gnawing.

When Hadley hopped up onto Hunter's back he nearly toppled over but stuck his right foot out and caught himself before falling. His hands instinctively moved up and tucked them under Hadley's thighs so he could be sure that she wouldn't end up slipping off of him. He didn't mind giving her the piggy back rides since she was so light. It was amazing how light she was.. then again he knew she wasn't a normal girl. She was as normal as he was!
"How have things been with Evan lately? Is he a decent roommate, other than being a little geeky?"
Hunter smirked at the thought of it and turned his head a bit to the left so he could glance back at Hadley. "Are you kidding? He complains about asthma constantly. He bought an air purifier and demanded I give him half the cost because it was my fault he couldn't breathe at night." He told her in a calm voice. Hunter hardly ever yelled or raised his voice. He always kept it calm and almost soothing with how deep it was.
He hated his roommate. He wanted to move out of the dorms and get a place of his own but considering he had a free ride from his parents he figured he might as well keep it. This way he didn't need to get a job. He hadn't worked a day in his life and he still wasn't sure why he was even going to college. He was a screw up and wasn't going anywhere.
"when are you going to finally start dating someone around here? You've been here long enough. You need a girlfriend. Hell, at least get laid. You're handsome enough."
And now Hadley had moved onto an uncomfortable topic. He bounced her a bit on his back so that he could get a better bearing on her legs so she couldn't slip off. The campus wasn't far from where the park was and it was only a matter of minutes before he found himself crossing the parking lot of the college and heading for the dorms.
"I'm just not interested in anyone. Or maybe I am. But it doesn't matter. I don't have time for relationships. I'm a lone wolf, Hadley." He said and his voice sounded playful. He looked back at her again just as they arrived to the building. He practically had to press his body to the door to make sure he could grab the handle and then pulled it open as much as he could before changing tactics and using his foot to prop it open while he walked in.
Another student was walking down the hall and gave them a strange look before he kept walking by. Hunter ignored him. Sure, they looked silly. It wasn't everyday that someone sober was walking around there with a girl on their back. Down the hall, up some stairs and finally the third door in they arrived. He was definitely out of breath and once they got into the room he turned and fell back onto his bed, right on top of Hadley. "Last stop!" He said and then rolled over so he wouldn't crush her.

Hadley shrieked with laughter as Hunter fell backwards, landing on top of her, leaving her sandwiched between the bed and himself. Although her laughter was muffled by his shoulder, which was covering her mouth, she wriggled and writhed underneath him until he rolled off of her. "Get off me, you overgrown puppy!" she said through her giggles.
As they laid side by side on Hunter's bed, Hadley pondered what he'd said about maybe being interested in someone. "I'm a lone wolf, Hadley," he'd said. Maybe that was true, after all. She had never seen him show interest in anyone, now that she thought about it. But he'd said maybe he was interested in someone. But who? That was going to bug her for the rest of the night.
"Have you ever even kissed a girl?" Hadley's question was non-judgmental, a simply curiosity being voiced. She couldn't imagine that Hunter had gone his whole life without any sort of intimacy- he was a very good looking guy, after all. She told him so frequently.
Hadley propped herself up on her elbow, facing Hunter. "Are you okay? You look all... Idunno, deep in thought and shit," she said, her nose wrinkled. She was overwhelmed very suddenly by a strong urge to kiss Hunter, which freaked her out a fair bit. He was like her brother, for crying out loud!
Where had these bizarre feelings come from, and why now? She had been over her feelings for him for the better part of forever, and so the resurfacing of her attraction to her best friend came as an uncomfortable shock to her.
Giving in slightly, she rolled the rest of the way over and collapsed onto Hunter's chest, her cheek resting on his shoulder. "You smell good," she mumbled into his t-shirt. He smelled like cigarettes and men's cologne, with a hint of something peppermint-y that she couldn't place. It was a nice combination.
"Would you ever date me?" The question was totally random, and she didn't give any explanation. She didn't mean it as a pick-up or anything like that. It was simply a question. She wondered if the thought had ever crossed his mind.

Hunter was lying there feeling quite good at the moment with Hadley cuddling up to him the way that she was. Sure, she was only laying against his shoulder but it felt nice. He even chanced a little peek at her and grinned casually once his eyes moved up to stare at the ceiling since it was the only thing in his direct line of sight.
"Have you ever even kissed a girl?"
"What?" Does she think I'm an amateur? Hunter thought to himself and his eyes instantly landed on his friend once more. His brows furrowed a bit with concern realizing that he had never actually brought a girl around Hadley. He'd had his own reasons not to, mainly because he didn't want her to think that he wasn't available. Because he was!
"Are you okay? You look all... Idunno, deep in thought and shit,"
He realized that he hadn't really answered her question yet and he did probably look like he was focusing hard on his thoughts. And yet he still didn't answer her. He just laid there and looked back up at the ceiling, trying to make out shapes in the weird paint swirls that were embedded into the ceiling from the way the brush strokes spread the paint on.
When Hadley told him that he smelled good for some reason he chose that time to speak. "I'm fine. I just think that's a weird question. And I always smell fantastic." He explained to her as an excuse for his silence. It wasn't much of an excuse at all and he was sure she'd see right through it. But then she opened her mouth again and Hunter wasn't expecting what came out next.
"Would you ever date me?"
Hunter practically flew off the bed, forgetting that Hadley had been laying against him when he did so. He stood up and turned to look at her. "What kind of question is that?" He asked in his soft voice and shook his head. He moved to a mini fridge that was pushed against the bed and opened it up to pull out two beers. There was a bottle opener on top of the mini fridge that he used to pop the caps off of both bottles and then set one down on the table near Hadley.
"Geez, you come over for a beer and suddenly you want to talk about if we should put our names on the napkins for our wedding reception?" Hunter knew that if he made a joke of it that hopefully he'd get out of this unscathed. But truth be told, he would date Hadley. In fact he'd wanted to for the longest time but there never seemed to be the right moment to tell her how he felt. Hunter was all about doing things the right way at the right moment. But he wasn't sure when that moment would come. He was pretty sure it wasn't now though.
Just underneath the bed there was a pack of cigarettes that Hunter had already taken a few out of. It was his backup pack, since it was hard to steal cigarettes. They were always kept behind the counter of stores which he found funny. Although you had to be twenty-one to drink it was easier to steal a beer than it was a pack of smokes and it was legal to smoke at age eighteen!
Hunter hopped up on the bed and moved to sit on top of the plain headboard. It was small and simple since it was your generic dorm bed, but he could prop himself up on it enough and pushed the window open. The lighter came out of his pocket and he lit the end of the cigarette just as he inhaled to get it going. Then he stuck his hand out the window and made sure to blow the smoke out as well. He didn't need Evan having a cow on him when he got back. Then a thought occurred to him. What if Hadley wasn't kidding around? What if this was her way of trying to make a move? He decided there was only one way to find out.
"Why, would you date me Hadles?"

\ WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Hadley nearly fell off the bed when Hunter went flying off it like he'd been lit on fire from underneath. "Easy, hoss," she complained, but she let him off the hook when he handed her a beer. She didn't even complain when he pulled out his spare pack of cigs and a lighter. She tried to laugh it all off when Hunter spoke.
"Geez, you come over for a beer and suddenly you want to talk about if we should put our names on the napkins for our wedding reception?"
"You're right," she said, feeling sheepish. "Stupid question." She took his sarcasm for a "no." For some reason, she was disappointed. She just hoped it didn't show too much. She hitched her smile in place again and took a sip of her beer before opening her mouth to speak again, but Hunter cut her off by repeating her question back to her.
"Why? Would you date me, Haddles?"
Hadley loved his nickname for her. It was endearing, and he was the only one who was allowed to use it. She'd been known to deck anyone else who tried it out.
"I- any girl would be lucky to have you, Hunter. You know that." She avoided answering the question, because frankly, she didn't know the answer. She'd not considered dating him in forever, and she didn't want to say "yes" because these new feelings for him had come up so suddenly. She didn't want to lead him on. Or maybe she just didn't want to admit to herself that the person she'd been looking for for the past... oh, five years or so? had been right in front of her face the whole time.
Especially now... Hadley's little escapade at the Jack Kit had shaken her, to be sure. She'd had entirely too much to drink after getting cocky and thinking she could drink the bar's owner under the table. That had backfired wondrously, and she'd found herself in Kit's living room once the alcohol wore off enough for her to regain consciousness. She didn't remember details of that night at Kit's apartment, but she knew two things for sure: one, she had been nauseated for the past month, and two, being around Hunter was stirring up emotions she hadn't felt for him in years.
Hadley felt a sudden and rather foreign urge to cry. She swallowed the lump in her throat and set her beer down on the bedside table, with only two or three sips taken from it. For some reason, the taste bothered her tonight. Too... something. She was forcibly reminded of soggy bread when she even smelled the beverage tonight, which was odd, seeing as she'd been craving it barely an hour beforehand.
Hadley's wings, which were secured beneath her blouse, ached. She longed to spread them and stretch them, but she and Hunter, despite being the dearest of friends, just didn't talk about their differences. She knew he was an Elemental, and he knew she was an Avisaille, but they didn't talk about it and they certainly never demonstrated their differences to one another. She didn't know why, and she'd never questioned it. She was tired of that.
Hadley stood up without warning and stripped her blouse right off over her head, leaving her standing there in her light pink lace bra. She loosed a ribbon that held her wings down and let them spread, revealing their beautiful blue and green coloring. She didn't explain or say anything at all. She simply turned to face Hunter, looking at her feet, and waited for him to say something.

Hunter glanced at Hadley for a second when she said that any girl would be lucky to have him. She didn't give him a yes but it wasn't a no either and he couldn't keep the disappointment from showing on his face. So he decided instead to look out the window as he sipped his beer and puffed on the cigarette.
He didn't know why it bothered him so much. It wasn't as if he would actually put the moves on her! She was one of his closest friends! "I don't like talking about it I guess. I've been with a girl before. I've been with a couple." He'd been staring out the window the entire time she'd been taking her top off and when he turned he had to do a double take before it actually registered what she had done. She wasn't wearing a shirt!
Hunter practically fell off his bed, dropping his beer which fell on its side on the floor pouring out into the cheap carpeting. "Shit!" He exclaimed and tossed the cigarette out the window and shut it. It was as if he was suddenly expecting a bomb to go off outside or something and he drew the blinds. Then he flew across the room to the door and made sure to lock it tight. He didn't need Evan coming in now!
"What are you doing Haddles?!" He asked and his eyes widened a bit with shock. Her wings were magnificent when they were out. He couldn't remember the last time he'd seen them, but it had been such a long time! They didn't discuss what they were. He knew about her and she knew about him, but it wasn't something they wanted to discuss. Hunter never felt comfortable talking about his family and his bloodline of magic. And Hadley never pushed which he appreciated.
"Give a little warning next time?" He let out a low sigh and shook his head. Was she trying to give him a stroke? He didn't think so, and if she was doing this there had to be a reason. He just wasn't quite sure what that reason was though.
"Is everything okay?" He asked and his brows began to furrow down, showing concern in his eyes as he took a small step towards her. He was trying his hardest to keep his eyes on her face. But that bra.. she looked so girly in pink and the lace gave it just the right touch to make it look sexy. It looked sexy on her.
He couldn't help it and had to look over to her wings now. They were magnificent and a surprise. No matter if he knew they were there her wings were always tucked away and he never had the chance to see them. He took another cautious step towards her and reached his hands up to grasp her by the arms lightly. His hands ran up and down them as he tried to catch her attention. "C'mon, tell me what's wrong.." He said in a soft tone, not wanting to upset her if anything truly was wrong. He didn't know what was happening.
