BURNING BOAT FESTIVAL
It’s that time of year again, Scriptor Bay! Spring is in the air which means new beginnings. What better way to start anew than to rid yourself of all those old memories weighing you down? We all have regrets, which is why we invite you to the 73rd annual Burning Boat Festival. The festival will take place on April 07, 2012 at The Pier promptly at 8pm. The boat will be set up on the eve of the 6th and you may drop your old memories off in the boat at any time until the festival begins. Please refrain from bringing explosives.
This event is sponsored by the Scriptor Bay City Council.
Rules: Typical board rules apply. Also, just because the council said no explosives, doesn't mean there doesn't have to be... Oh, and have fun! We're BURNING stuff!!
How It Will Work: Post all related threads in The Pier. Make sure to put in the end of your threads title BBF so we know it has to do with the Burning Boat Festival. The moderator will post updates in each thread periodically to let you know what's happening and to give further instructions on the plot.
Weather and Setup: The Pier is set up as it normally is. Bands and performers are around entertaining the crowds and there are a handful of vendors selling drinks and snacks. The weather is clear, sunny with a slight breeze. The air is crisp and the temperature is wavering between 57-65 degrees. The earlier in the day it is, the warmer. In the middle of The Pier is a mock pirate ship, (A visual of what it compares to) filled with books, pictures and other memorabilia others wish to toss in the flames. Members of the SBPD are perusing around, watching for evil doers! There is an ambulance on hand for emergencies, a row of firetrucks, and in front of the ship is a podium, where the master of ceremonies will welcome guests before the festival begins. Surrounding the ship are a half dozen or so torches, used to light the way of those walking up to the ship to deposit their things.
Enjoy!
