Jo let out a little nervous laugh with him, and the way she bit her lip made Brandon want to kiss her again. He wanted nothing more than to kiss her again. The look in her doe eyes when she turned them back up to him made him almost do it again. “Is that right…” He was already leaning back in. “Well hopefully you can wait until tomorrow night for another.” He smiled, but snapped his fingers, disappointed. Damn! Brandon could have kissed her a lot more. “But don’t get ahead of yourself. I’m only promising a kiss.” From that wink, he was sure he could get more if he went after it. His grin was wide and devilish as he looked down at her, wondering if he should lean back in. Before he could, though, Jo had a hold of his hand and was pulling him back out to the floor, which made him groan playfully.
“So…I’ll see you tomorrow night, then?” Brandon grinned at her, letting her hold his hand as long as she wanted. “Yup. Wear something nice just in case,” he said with a wink. He had no intention of just taking her on a cheap date. He would take her somewhere nice. That’s what you did on a first date, after all. If they had a second date, he might be able to do something cheaper. He wondered if one of these days she wouldn’t mind just going out on the boat for a night. That could actually be really…well…romantic! He would ask Mel’s opinion on that idea. And then the ball was coming up. Women loved masquerades, didn’t they? Brandon realized he was getting ahead of himself. He would have to put all of that on hold until he had a successful date with her.
When they were on the floor again, he put his hands in his pockets, finding his sister easily. She had her hands full of goods and a big smile on her face when she saw them. “Jo, these smell so good!” Brandon looked at Jo with a knowing smile. “I told you she was going to buy your entire stock,” he teased. Melanie started gushing about all the different scents, but Brandon was lost in thinking about what he would do with Jo on their date. He hadn’t been this excited to go on a date with anyone in many, many years.
