Lafayette needed a hangover remedy. His head was pounding when he woke up and the sun was way too bright. Wasn't there a way to turn down the fucking sun? Ugh, he was so beat. If he could stay in bed all day, he would, but he knew he had to work at the diner starting at four in the afternoon. He would have to suck it up and go see Abby...after he got looking fabulous. Normally he had his own hangover remedy ready, but he was out of it from the night before last and he was out of some key ingredients as well. With some grunting and groaning, he took his sexy ass to the shower and woke his ass up. Nobody needed to see him with baggies under his eyes. The perfect outfit and, of course, perfect make-up, and he was ready to go get his shit from Abby.
The walk wasn't long. She lived right up the street from him, a big garden right outside her house. Lafayette had a small garden of his own, mostly vegetables and herbs, but Abby's outdid his by a long shot. Bitch. She was such a show-off sometimes. As he approached her house, he could hear her house running out around the side of the house. Good, she was already out there. Maybe he could surprise her with his gorgeous face. When he rounded the corner, he found her all cozied up with some man, though...some sexy man. Lafayette's eyes wandered over the lean figure with his arms around Abby and felt jealous. That hooker got some sexy man meat when she wanted it. "Bitch, don't do that out in public where people can see," he said with exasperation, though he was secretly glad she found something to put in that puss of hers. He knew she was frustrated since moving back.
Her pretty face turned to him, a wide smile there, and he was immediately suspicious. The fuck was she so happy about? "Lala!" He could hear the cheerfulness in her voice, but his eyes were on that sexy piece of man meat with his arms around her. That was Gavin! He'd been flirting with Gavin since that sexy little boy started working at the Jack Kit. And this hooker brought him home?! And got him to cuddle up to her the way he was?! Something was not right here. She introduced Gavin to him, but when she went to introduce Lafayette to Gavin, he smirked and let his eyes take in the glory for a moment. "Oh, I know who he is," he replied smoothly. But though there was a smirk on his face, he was certain something was amiss here. "Mm," he grunted, deciding he was done ogling Gavin. Plenty of time for that later. "Gavin, baby, I need to have a private discussion with Miss James, for a minute," he announced, making it known he wasn't looking for a fight. He just needed to figure out why the fuck Gavin Brooks, a sweet but seductive man whore, seemed absolutely gaga for his best friend. Something was rotten in the state of Oregon.

"Bitch, don't do that out in public where people can see."
Gavin looked up surprised at the voice. Who would dare speak to her like that? He tensed slightly, ready to attack anyone who dared to call his soon to be fiance a bitch! The sight caught him a little off guard. The guy was flaming to say the least, but he was familiar. Gavin recognized him from the Jack Kit where he was known as a joke. He'd hit on his fair share of bartenders in the past, Gavin being one of them. It had always made him uneasy, so he often tried to avoid his eye when he got to the bar.
"Lala!" Lala? "Gavin, this is my best friend, Lafayette." Best friend? "Lala, this is Gavin. He's--"
"Oh, I know who he is," Gavin blushed with the tone "Lala" used and the way he eyed him up. It made him uncomfortable. Was he seizing him up for being with Abby or because he wanted to be with him? Gavin wasn't a homophobe. Personally he thought it would be better for the economy if those gays could marry since they would have wedding registries, but being hit on one was something else entirely. He didn't want to be eyed by men. That made him uncomfortable. Lala made him uncomfortable.
"I've seen you around the bar." He said softly, sliding his arm protectively around Abby as if to claim her. Sure, this guy wasn't a threat from stealing her but he wanted it clear that he was head over heals for Abby. "But it's nice to meet you officially, Lafayette. Any friend of Abby's is a friend of mine." He would put his odd feelings to rest if it made her happy. So long as he didn't try anything funny. He extended his hand to shake.
"Gavin, baby, I need to have a private discussion with Miss James, for a minute," Gavin shifted uneasily. Let go of Abby? He looked down at her, a puppy dog gaze as if to say please don't make me go.. He looked between them for a moment, obviously distraught by all of this. "Oh, uh.." He cleared his throat and swallowed hard. He didn't want to go away! He wanted to stay with her! "Just for a minute would be alright, I guess." He muttered, more out of obvious anxiety than possessiveness. "I have to call Kit and let him know I'm not coming in tonight, anyway." He took his girlfriend cheek and rested his lips against hers gently. "I love you. Don't be too long.." He breathed before shooting another wary look at her gay friend and moving away, pulling his phone out. He wouldn't stray far and he had every intention of watching form a distance.

Abby was surprised at Lafayette. Why would he need to talk to her alone? She was confused, but curious, and she looked to Gavin to see if he would agree. "Oh, uh..." She could see the uncertainty in his eyes and she just wanted to smother him in kisses. He didn't have to look so hurt! She was just going to be talking to Lafayette for a couple minutes! She gave him a little puppy dog look back, wanting to just drag him inside and show him again how much she loved him and didn't want to hurt his feelings. "Just for a minute would be alright, I guess. I have to call Kit and let him know I'm not coming in tonight, anyway." Abby was relieved she wouldn't have to make him leave herself. She couldn't bare to hurt his feelings so much. His hand came to her cheek and she smiled wide for him. He kissed her and she returned it gently, her eyes slipping shut for a moment. "I love you. Don't be too long..." Abby beamed. "I love you too. I won't be long," she assured quietly. She watched him walk away, feeling her heart squeeze. He was just so sweet.
"I love you?" Lafayette's voice asked incredulously. Abby finally looked at him, surprised, and then she flushed with a smile, nodding. "Yeah...we, um...we're in love," she told him shyly. Lafayette's eyes were huge, looking at her as if she had just grown a second head. "How long you known that boy?" Abby felt a tightening in her stomach now, a little uneasy to answer. "We met last night," she said quietly. Lafayette scoffed. "Bitch, what?" He didn't believe. But how could he? He didn't know the full story! Abby rushed up to him, talking quietly so Gavin wouldn't over hear. "I brought him home and I wasn't really meaning to, but I gave him some of that love potion I've been working on. The one that will last for a shorter amount of time," she told him quickly. Lafayette sighed and rolled his eyes, looking away from her. "Aw hell no," he grumbled. Abby shook her head, grabbing Lafayette's arms.
"No, no, Lala, you don't understand!" she exclaimed quietly and quickly. "With the love potion, I think I've figured it out! I mean, you can't just make somebody feel something they don't already feel, right? You can't just make up an emotion in somebody. But you can enhance it. I think that's how the love potion works! I think it takes real feelings and enhances them! It's not so bad, then! What would have taken him several months to feel for me he began to feel in a matter of minutes! I really think it's love, I just sped up the process!" She had a big smile on her face but Lafayette was looking at her as if she had just added a third head to her collection. "Oh, you crazy ho," he sighed. "You took some of that potion too, didn't you?"

Lafayette couldn't believe what he was hearing. Not only was Abby saying Gavin was in love with her because she gave him some of that stupid ass potion she was working on, but now he had come to a revelation. "Oh, you crazy ho. You took some of that potion too, didn't you?" he demanded. Abby had the nerve to look surprised. "Well, I might have. I don't know, I put it in his Coke and when he drank it I kissed him." Lafayette sighed again. Not only was this bitch crazy, she was stupid too. He put two delicate fingers over his eyebrows. What was he going to do with her? "But hey, Lala, I'm in love!" His dark, almond shaped eyes came back to her, almost menacing. "Hooker, that's not love, that's potion," he replied. "And I told you not to fuck with that shit." Abby sighed and rolled her eyes, putting her hands on her hips. "Abby, that shit is dangerous! How many times your daddy warned you not to fuck with it?" Abby looked back at him, obviously not happy with his reason.
"Why is it dangerous, though? I'm just in love, it's not like I'm going to get hurt." She just didn't understand. "Yes you is, Abby!" he replied, his hands on his hips now. "What do you think is going to happen when that potion wears off?" Abby just looked at him uncertainly, but that didn't stop Lafayette. "You're going to be all disappointed because you're not as happy as you were before and you're going to be embarrassed. Do you think Gavin is going to be happy that you drugged him to make him fall in love with you?" She obviously hadn't thought of that, and she bit her lip, giving him puppy dog eyes. Lafayette couldn't help feeling the knot in his stomach that he always felt when she gave him that look. "When that potion wears off, you've gotta tell him the truth. He's gonna wanna know what the fuck just happened to him and why he suddenly don't love you as much." Abby sighed heavily, nodding, looking like he had just kicked her. This bitch was the only one who could make him feel bad for telling the truth. With a sigh, he looked away from her and to the rose bush they were standing next to. "And here I thought your puss was just as magical as you were to get that sexy little bitch in love with you," he grumbled. Abby laughed, making him smirk as he looked back at her.
"I really feel like I love him," she said softly. Lafayette shook his head, grunting. "Mm, well at least you knows your magic work," he replied. She laughed again, making him feel better. "Simple bitch," he mumbled through his smile, just wanting to kiss her. She took care of that by kissing him on the cheek. He looked up to make sure Gavin wasn't there, not wanting to have to beat that sexy little boy's ass down for being jealous, and was glad he wasn't there. When Abby pulled away he looked down at her. "Well, you enjoy the ride, mamasita, because you got yourself some premium sexy man meat," he smiled slyly. Abby nodded her agreement, a satisfied look on her face. "Oh, Lala, you don't even know." Lafayette put his hand to her face. "Don't go braggin' on yourself now, hooker," he advised her. Abby laughed, swatting his hand away and making him smirk. "Are you going to hang around for a while?" Lafayette saw Gavin rounding the corner now and he shrugged. "I might as well stay and gag at you two for a little while," he said playfully. Abby just smiled like the simple bitch she was. Mm...

Gavin felt antsy from the second he left her side. A layer of sweat broke out on his forehead and he tried to tell himself it was because it was hot out but he knew it wasn't. He felt uncomfortable leaving her alone with another man, even if that man was flaming gay. It really made no difference to him. Lala was competition, at least for her attention. He wasn't ready to share her with anyone yet, especially a guy who had openly hit on him before.
He tried his very best to shove the thoughts out of his mind as he called his boss. "Hey Kit.." He said softly. "I'm having a little car trouble. I don't... Uhh... Yeah, I guess I could but I don't think I'd have a ride home. No. I could.. yeah, I'll ask, but if..." He peaked over to watch the two talk animatedly together. Kit was not happy with him calling out like this. "Okay. I'll let you know. Oh. Are you sure? Yea. No, yeah I'll definitely be there tomorrow. No. No..." Was he drunk already? "Yep. Thanks. Okay later."
Gavin hung up and peaked at the two of them again. Abby looked almost bashful and he wondered if he could go back there just yet. He wondered if he should call his brother or not. Owen was always good for some advice.. Instead he decided to send the boy a text. Met a girl.. think she' def the 1! Gonna get my shit 2geth 4 her! ttyl he sent and took a deep breath, almost ill from missing Abby already.
"Uhh.. is it safe to come back?" He asked inching back towards them, just wanting to touch her... He gave Lafayette an unsure look before coming to Abby and putting an arm around her. "Everything good?" He asked directing his question more to his girlfriend than her friend. He looked at her with nothing short of pure unadulterated adoration. She was the sun and the moon. "I missed you.." He cooed softly.

Abby was still absorbing the truth in her conversation with Lafayette. It was hard to believe this potion would ever wear off, but she knew deep down that it would. It was already depressing her. She didn't want to not love Gavin anymore! Even more than that, she didn't want him to not love her anymore! It made her want to cry, but Lafayette had done a good job cheering her up. She could enjoy the ride. Gavin made her so happy at that moment, she wouldn't think about the future. They still had two days to be in love! "Uhh...is it safe come back?" Abby spun around, seeing the love of her life inching forward. She nodded vigorously, giving a sweet, "Mm-hm!" His arm came around her, and she returned the favor, realizing how much she had missed his touch. "Everything good?" "Yup!" she replied, grinning up at him. The adoration in his eyes was reflected in hers, completely engulfed in him. "I missed you..." She melted. "Me too," she replied softly, standing on tiptoe to kiss his cheek gently.
"Ya'll are gonna make me sick." Abby laughed at Lafayette and took her boyfriend's hand in hers. "Then come have some tea, it'll make you feel better," she said, guiding Gavin back towards the back door of her house that went right into her kitchen. Lafayette followed along, a sour look on his face, and she punched him to make him cheer up. Why couldn't he just be happy for her? She was in love! Head over heels in love with her Gavin! She looked back to him, and smiled wide as she walked alongside him, his hand in both of hers now. The world was perfect. She had her Gavin and her Lala!
When they got into the kitchen, she went straight to the refrigerator and got out the iced rose tea she had made the day before. She pulled out three glasses and poured until each glass was full, looking over at Lafayette. "So why'd you come by anyway?" she asked. All of the tea was poured, so she handed out glasses, giving Gavin a kiss and a smile as she passed him his, and then put the pitcher back in the refrigerator. "Hangover cure." Abby froze up a little, giving Lafayette a look that told him to be quiet about anything else. Gavin didn't need to know about her yet! She let her eyes look to Gavin again as she smiled. "I make homeopathic cures with my plants and herbs," she explained simply. Lafayette gave her a knowing smile and nodded as he sipped his tea. Abby went into her refrigerator and pulled out a vile of her hangover potion. Normally she would charge $15 for a vile, but Lafayette got all of his stuff from her for free. What was hers was his and vice versa; that's just how close they were.

Lafayette couldn't help but be a little amused at what was unfolding before his eyes. Gavin completely lovesick over Abby James. He had seen that adorable little bartender go home with enough hoes to be quite entertained by this drastic turn in events. It also made him nervous for Abby. Did she know how many toes she had stepped on messing with this one? He knew that bitch Cheyenne and that other one Nicole were going to have it in for her. Especially Nicole...she'd been around the bar a couple times lately, looking to get with Gavin. If Abby went to the bar, she was going to need to bring Lafayette for some back-up. Nobody messed with his bitch.
When Abby handed him the hangover cure, he upended the vile into his glass, glad the tea would cover up some of the taste. Some potions were more tasteless than others, but hangover cure was not one of them. It had a strong bitter taste, but actually went reasonably well with tea, especially the strong teas Abby usually made. His eyes traveled back over to Gavin, not caring if that boy judged him or not. Many people judged Lafayette on a daily basis; he knew how to deal with it. He breezed right on past, smirking as he realized he made Gavin uncomfortable. This could be some fun. There was something strangely and wickedly satisfying in making another person uncomfortable.
"So, Gavin honey, what is it about my favorite little witch that you love so much?" he asked, his eyes going to Abby. She was glaring at him. Simple bitch; "witch" was the nice form of "bitch" these days. Gavin would never guess he meant she was literally a witch. Abby smiled at Gavin before he could answer, leaning against him and the counter as she spoke. "Lafayette is like a brother to me. We grew up together here in Scriptor Bay." Lafayette nodded, returning his piercing gaze by the Gavin to see him squirm. He really was protective of this little hooker, whether he liked to openly admit it or not. He wasn't protecting her right now, though; this bitch brought all this on herself. Right now, he was just having fun waiting to hear what sexy little Gavin had to say about his love for Abby.

Gavin didn't want Abby to invite Lafayette to hang around and drink tea with them. He wanted her all to himself. He wanted to make love with her all day, and tell her how much he loved her, and discuss their future together! Maybe they could look at houses. He wondered if he could get a loan or not yet. Probably not until he found a better job. He had enough saved for a decent down payment, though. That had been his plan with Lindsay before he'd called it all off. But Abby seemed excited the third wheel had come on board so he wouldn't fight it. Anything Abby wanted, Abby got and if Lafayette stepped out of line, well Gavin would let him know it wasn't okay.
"So why'd you come by anyway?" "Hangover cure." Gavin raised a brow at Abby as she froze up, not sure why she would be so floored by that statement. It was as if that was taboo. "I make homeopathic cures with my plants and herbs," He nodded, sipping his tea. "I had a roommate in college who made a good hangover cure." He explained, not having thought anything of it to begin with. "He would make bacon and then cook eggs in the grease and eat it all on an english muffin with about a gallon of water." He laughed. "Not the same as that, but it always made us all feel a little better. Grease for some reason used to settle our stomachs." He shrugged. He'd learned some stupid things in college.
"So, Gavin honey, what is it about my favorite little witch that you love so much?" Gavin turned his attention back to the black man and raised a brow. Witch? That was uncalled for! He felt himself get annoyed, his brows furrowing slightly. "Lafayette is like a brother to me. We grew up together here in Scriptor Bay." Brother or not, Gavin didn't want him calling her names!
"She's not a witch." He said firmly, standing his ground. "She's amazing.." His voice became dreamy once more and he looked at her in awe. Then he pondered the question he'd been asked. "I don't know if I could pick just one thing.." He told Lafayette though his eyes were planted firmly on Abby. "I mean.. I love everything about her. She's beautiful, funny, smart, incredibly sexy.." He smiled a little, sighing his affection. "I'm going to ask her father for her hand in marriage." He gushed looking at Lafayette and grinning. "We're going to have the most perfect wedding. I don't really know anything about flowers... but there'll probably be lots of 'em. And I bet Kit would help us with the open bar. I know a DJ, too." He nodded. This sort of conversation would make him feel physically ill last week, and there was a part of him that still felt deeply uncomfortable with it, but it had been buried so deep he hardly felt it.
"I'm actually going to quit my job over at the Jack Kit to get a better job so we can live more comfortably. Our tiny places just won't be big enough for all our kids." His grin was huge as he stared at Abby, openly talking about all the things they had already discussed. "She's going to be an awesome mom.. and a beautiful bride.. and a perfect wife.." His eyes flashed to Lafayette. "How could I possibly pick one thing to love the most when she's so perfect? I love everything the most!"

Abby wanted to kick Lafayette. He was going to give her away! She didn't want Gavin to know she was a witch! But Gavin, thankfully took it the wrong way. "She's not a witch." Oh, he had no idea. "She's amazing..." Abby smiled dreamily up at him, almost forgetting that Lafayette was there as her boyfriend gushed about her. "I'm going to ask her father for her hand in marriage." She grinned from ear to ear and looked at Lafayette too, leaning her head on Gavin's chest affectionately. The look on Lafayette's face was priceless. His perfectly shadowed eyes were wide and his purple mouth was pursed in the shape of an "O." Abby giggled half out of excitement and half out of amusement. Lafayette was going to have a stroke. "We're going to have the most perfect wedding. I don't really know anything about flowers...but there'll probably be lots of 'em. And I bet Kit would help us with the open bar. I know a DJ, too." Abby James loved to picture becoming Abby Brooks. It was her new favorite pass time. Gavin was just so cute and sexy and perfect, she had to applaud herself for snagging him...even if it was because of a potion.
"I'm actually going to quit my job over at the Jack Kit to get a better job so we can live more comfortably. Our tiny places just won't be big enough for all out kids. She's going to be an awesome mom...and a beautiful bride...and a perfect wife." The grin on her face couldn't be any bigger as she gazed up at her beautiful boyfriend/soon-to-be fiance. He was going to be an awesome dad, a handsome groom, and a perfect husband. She just knew it. His eyes left hers to look at Lafayette and she was reminded of his presence. If it was possible for the man to look green, he did. "How could I possibly pick one thing to love the most when she's so perfect? I love everything the most!" Abby put her arms around him, snuggling in close as she looked over at Lafayette. He sucked in a deep breath and scratched at the back of his turbaned head. "Shit, you're in deep." She giggled, looking at her best friend. "We both are! I just couldn't live without my Gavin anymore," she said with a sigh, looking up at her sexy boyfriend. Her chin rested against his chest as she grinned. "I love everything about him. I don't think Gavin could ever disappoint me. He's just so perfect, I can't even explain it. He's going to be the perfect husband and we're going to be the happiest couple the world has ever seen." "How many kids?" The question sounded almost sarcastic, but Abby didn't look at Lafayette as she answered. "As many as we can afford!" she replied excitedly, wanting to start on those babies ASAP.
She stood on her tiptoes and kissed Gavin, wrapping her arms tight around him. He fit so perfectly in her arms, and she fit so perfectly in his. The tea she had been sipping was all but forgotten as she relished just being with the love of her life. A heavy dreamy sigh left her as she rested her head against Gavin's chest again, loving the faint smell of booze and cologne on him. It was such a sexy smell. Her eyes came back to Lafayette's grimacing face, and she stuck her tongue out at him. Then she gasped excitedly, jumping a little in Gavin's arms as she looked up at him with wide eyes. "Oh my gosh, Lala can be the Maid of Honor!" she exclaimed. Lafayette stared at her with wide eyes, having just started gulping his tea. She looked at him expectantly and she finished his tea before laughing nervously. "Oh, you know I'd love that job." Abby clapped happily. "You don't have to wear a dress, just a really nice suit. It'll be so much fun!" she gushed. Lafayette shook his head, putting the glass on the counter. "You took the words right out of my mouth."

The more Lafayette watched Abby and Gavin, the sicker he felt. It wasn't that it wasn't cute, and he truly did believe Abby deserved the best. From the sound it right now, Gavin was the best. He was perfect and would do literally anything for her. And Abby sounded and looked so fucking happy, Lafayette just wanted to freeze frame the moment and hang it up on a shelf. He'd seen her happy before, but not like this. She was literally gushing happiness everywhere. He wished it were infectious so he could feel even half of what she was feeling right now. But it wasn't going to last. That's what made him feel sick. Well, he was hungover too, but for the most part it was the temporary nature of this whole situation. It was a potion making them feel this way, not real love. He had always wanted Abby to be this happy, but for real, not under the influence of a fucking love potion. He wanted to dump that whole pot of crap down the sink and eliminate its existence entirely. It was fucking his Abby up!
Not to mention poor Gavin. He was going to snap out of this in three days feeling awful and like he had been lost in a dream. Lafayette had read plenty about the after effects of love potions. He could fuck all the girls in the world to make up for the last three days, but it wouldn't change the fact that he felt like shit. Abby had really fucked him over too, not just herself. Lafayette hoped he wouldn't work at the bar during this time, or at the very least, that Abby would stay away while he did. There were some vicious, vindictive bitches in this town who would cut her up for taking Gavin off the market. Hell, Lafayette couldn't really blame them! A good fuck was hard to find! Still, he didn't want anything bad to happen to Abby, and he would have to warn her to stay in the house until the potion passed. Not that she would listen to him, but at least he could put forward that little effort.
With a sigh, he stood straight again, getting off the counter he had been leaning on. He felt a little better after that hangover cure. "This is just too fucking depressing," he grumbled. Abby looked at him with her big doe eyes and he shook his head at her. Stupid ho. He came forward and hugged her, blowing her an air kiss on the cheek. "I'm going home until you two love birds stop being so cute," he teased, trying to make nice with Gavin for now. He smiled a Gavin, wiggling his fingers at him. "It was nice to meet you finally, Gavin. I'll see you around the Jack Kit." His eyes turned back to Abby, giving her a knowing look. "Lemme know when you two stop being so cute," he told her cryptically. In other words, he wanted to know when the potion wore off. Abby nodded and he walked to the backdoor before wiggling his fingers again. "Bye, hooker," he said before walking out the door. Simple bitch. He was going to ream the fuck out of her when she woke up from that stupid potion.

"How many kids?"
"As many as we can afford!"
Gavin beamed first at Abby and then Lafayette. If he got a good job then they would be really, really busy. His mom would be ecstatic. He gave her a dreamy look to let her know that was exactly the answer he would have provided.
As for this guy being the Maid of Honor... Gavin wasn't too keen on the idea of having a man made of honor and he didn't want him being his best mad, either. That was reserved for his brother! He didn't say anything now. He decided when they got engaged and started working on the details he could bring it up then. No sense getting bent out of shape about it now.
Gavin sipped his tea contently as the others talked, his focus mainly on Abby. She was the only thing in the world that mattered. "This is just too fucking depressing," Gavin looked over at Lala confused. Why would this be depressing? Wasn't this wonderful? "I'm going home until you two love birds stop being so cute," Ah, he was jealous! Gavin smiled a little. Lafayette had every reason to be jealous. He would be jealous if someone had Abby, too. Just the thought of anyone else with her drove him mad with jealousy! He didn't even like her gay friend hugging her, but he made no move because he knew the man was no threat, and he also knew he could take him down probably if he needed to. Or it would at least be a good fight.
"You, too." He said to Lafayette as he told it had been nice to meet him. He watched Lafayette leave and turned back to Abby, pulling her close and nuzzling her like a child reunited with his lost teddy bear. "I know he's your friend, but I hate the names he calls you. Hooker, witch..." He shook his head and trailed feathery kisses over her face. "You're none of those things. You're perfect.. almost to a fault." He teased with a silly grin his lips finally meeting hers once more, and he felt like he was home. "So, how are we going to spend the rest of this beautiful day together?"
