His hands dragged against the skin of her back so gently, trying to regain his breath as he feathered kisses along her collarbone and up her neck. She was perfect and she was his; he could have poured affection on her all night. He pulled from her neck, bringing his hands to her hair, looking into her beautiful blue eyes. His fingers cupped the back of her head, sweeping the hair from her face. He was a little wide-eyed that what had just happened really had happened. His eyes traveled over her face, his thumbs brushing across her perfect cheekbones. A smile came to his mouth, warm, gentle and adoring. “Say it again,” he requested softly, looking up at her slightly since she was still on his lap. The words sent delighted chills through his body and his smile grew, pulling her face closer. “And again,” he said as her mouth approached. He kissed her passionately, his lips meshing with hers lovingly. When he pulled back a little, he smiled against her lips, nudging his nose against her affectionately. “I love you,” he repeated in a tender tone indicative of all the love he felt for her.
He laid back, taking her with him as he kissed her, keeping one hand buried in her hair while the other arm wrapped around her waist to hold her close. All of his exhaustion came over him in a wave as his head hit the pillow. His kisses slowed and his fingers slipped through her hair. He pulled back gently, just gazing up at her, pushing her hair behind her ears. “You’re the only woman I’ve ever loved, Flynn. I didn’t think it existed, not for me. You proved me wrong,” he told her tenderly. He drew her in for another light kiss, his head falling back to the pillow afterward. “I think you found out how to put me to sleep too,” he teased with a warm smile. By the time they had readjusted with her lying beside him, her head on his chest, he could barely keep his eyes open. He helped pull the comforter over them, running his hand through her hair as he looked down at her, unable to remove the adoring smile from his face. “I love you, Flynn,” he told her again. He leaned down and gave her a soft kiss on her lips then kissed the tip of her nose, between her eyebrows, up to her forehead. His hand worked slowly through her hair, his other one gripping her arm over his torso lightly.
Before long he was fast asleep, breathing slower and his lips parted slightly with his head rested gently against Flynn’s. He had never felt so happy and content in his life. Liam loved a woman, had told her he loved her, and then made love to her, the most beautiful woman in the world. Nothing, not even the clouds outside could bring him down.
