“I had a wonderful time.” Maxi was so glad to hear it! “They’re wonderful, Maxi. It’s obvious why you stay in touch.” Maureen looked over to the guys and Maxi followed her gaze, smiling as she did so. “Drew is very sweet…I didn’t expect that.” She turned back to her sister with a confused smile, not quite understanding what she meant. Why wouldn’t she think Drew was sweet? “He just looks so…well, he’s very good-looking. I’m surprised you didn’t try and date him.” Maxi’s eyes got wide, genuinely shocked. What?! Date Drew?! No way; Maxi had never even considered it. She didn’t even see this good-looking man he sister saw. All she saw in Drew was an awesome older brother with pretty green eyes and a warm, genuine smile. Then again, she hadn’t been apart from him for twenty-five years. She tried to imagine what that would be like, what she would think if she was meeting him for the first time, and she supposed she could see the appeal. It didn’t help that she felt she’d already found the only man she would ever love and he was the exact opposite from Drew in many, many ways. These thoughts ran through her head as her sister laughed and blushed and Maxi grinned in return. Would she be able to set those two up? Drew would probably be completely oblivious unless Maureen made it obvious…She would have to get over how odd it felt to think about her sister romantically involved with a man she considered their brother.
“And Jamie’s a riot. I would definitely hang around both of them again. Has he always been so silly?” Maxi giggled, nodding. “Ever since I can remember. He was a bundle of laughter and a ball of trouble when we were younger and he’s pretty much stayed the same. He used to give Drew a hard time when Drew started tutoring us and they would get into legitimate fights like brothers, but that was rare. It takes real skill to make Drew mad, but Jamie used to manage it. They both matured a lot, obviously.” She looked over at the guys, seeing Drew with Jamie in a headlock and giving him a noogie as Jamie struggled to get out of his grasp, both of them laughing. Maxi shook her head. “Okay, maybe not as much as I thought.” She shrugged and laughed too.
“As for Drew…” she began, shaking her head vigorously. “I could never date him. He’s way too much like family for me. The kids at school always ask me, ‘Is Mr. Solomon your boyfriend?’ To stop those questions, I tell them he’s my cousin. It kind of creeps me out to think of myself that way with either of them.” She gave a dramatic full body cringe and then laughed. “Honestly, I can’t see the appeal. I mean, he’s a great guy, but physically I don’t see it. I just know ninety percent of the female population at the high school has a crush on him. The other ten percent are either not interested in men or they don’t know what they like yet.” She slid in a little closer, a devious little smile on her face. “However, if you’re interested, dearest sister, he is single. And like I said, he’s a great guy; one of the best guys I know. Plus, I think you’ve got a good shot.” She grinned wide at her sister anticipating the look of sheer embarrassment on her face. Maxi didn’t mention that part of the issue would be getting Drew to forget that Maureen was no longer a child…

“Ever since I can remember. He was a bundle of laughter and a ball of trouble when we were younger and he’s pretty much stayed the same." She wasn't that surprised. She imagined Jamie had had probably always been that way but it was nice to hear Maxi confirm it. He was definitely a brother type and it made sense he had so many siblings. "They both matured a lot, obviously.” Maxi looked over at the guys and Maureen's gaze followed, noticing the boys playing around. It brought a smile to her face. “Okay, maybe not as much as I thought.” She laughed with her sister.
“As for Drew…” she began, shaking her head vigorously. “I could never date him. He’s way too much like family for me. The kids at school always ask me, ‘Is Mr. Solomon your boyfriend?’ To stop those questions, I tell them he’s my cousin. It kind of creeps me out to think of myself that way with either of them.” For some reason those words made her blush a hair. She could understand that. Maureen was supposed to see them that way. She shouldn't be attracted to either of them, but it was hard when you didn't remember someone who was supposed to be like a brother. Still, she probably would never really consider dating either Drew or Jamie. That would be weird she supposed. “Honestly, I can’t see the appeal. I mean, he’s a great guy, but physically I don’t see it." This made her feel worse for thinking he was cute, until Maxi continued and explained every woman had a thing for him. He was sweet, worked with children, was handsome... he seemed like a catch.
“However, if you’re interested, dearest sister, he is single." She went crimson and gave Maxi a shocked look. "And like I said, he’s a great guy; one of the best guys I know. Plus, I think you’ve got a good shot.” She was grinning wide and there seemed to be a glimmer of mischief there. "Oh, no no.." She insisted, shaking her head. "That would be weird. It would make him uncomfortable, and.. well, your fa..our family is very close, you said he's like a brother so... No I don't think that would be a good idea. Besides, I live so far away..." She bit her bottom lip and her eyes moved out the door seeing the boys had finished rough housing and were now leaning against a car. She turned back to Maxi. "I just found you. I don't want to complicate things with dating or anything like that. If something were to happen and we didn't work.. I mean, that's if he were even interested to begin with, I.. no, no it's just a bad idea. Thank you though, it was sweet that you thought maybe we could.." She was anxious again. Had she always been like this? Was this due to her accident? How outgoing had she been as a child? "He is very sweet though, you're right. And he's very handsome. I'm sure Drew has no problems picking up women." She knew she was attractive, but she also knew she came with her own set of complications that made dating strange. At least she could learn more about herself now, though.

“Oh, no no…That would be weird. It would make him uncomfortable, and…well, your fa…our family is very close, you said he’s like a brother so…No I don’t think that would be a good idea. Besides, I live so far away…” Maxi was really trying to suppress her smile at how red Maureen’s face was and how utterly uncomfortable she looked. Sure, she and Drew were close, but it’s not like Maureen remembered. He was like a brother to Maxi, but he and Maureen didn’t have that kind of relationship. She was positive Drew would go for it if he had an idea of how Maureen felt. Then again, he might not; Maureen had a point saying that he would be uncomfortable. He probably would be with how much he thought of Maureen as a little sister too. Maxi was optimistic that he could get over, but maybe she was wrong. “I just found you. I don’t want to complicate things with dating or anything like that. If something were to happen and we didn’t work…I mean, that’s if he were even interested to begin with, I…no, no it’s just a bad idea. Thank you though, it was sweet that you thought maybe we could…” Who was she trying to convince, Maxi or herself? Maxi nodded, but she was doubtful on the inside. Even if it didn’t work, she still wanted to see if it was possible to get those two together. Drew could use a girlfriend and Maureen seemed so perfect for him…they seemed perfect for each other.
“He is very sweet though, you’re right. And he’s very handsome. I’m sure Drew has no problem picking up women.” Maxi snorted and shook her head. “I guess he’s cute, but he’s not the most confident guy. He’s pretty awkward around women, so he doesn’t have girlfriends often. I mean, he’s comfortable around us because he’s known us forever, but you put him around an attractive stranger, he clams up. It’s kind of cute, kind of funny, but he hasn’t had a lot of relationships because of it.” She sighed and tried to wipe the smile off her face. “But maybe you’re right, it might be best not to date him.” Maxi shrugged and then smiled wide at her sister. She was going to find some way to put them together, but the question was how…she was really just curious how it would go.
“I shouldn’t keep them waiting out in the cold, though. I’ll talk to you tomorrow and see if we can set up some time so I can show you the city before you go. Places we used to go and places I’ve come to love and I think you would like. Would you like to do that?” she asked. She’d love to spend some more time with her sister and reacquaint her with the city.

Maureen didn't understand how Maxi only guessed he was cute. She didn't fine the man attractive? Then again she had never found TJ to be attractive. Sure, he had been a good looking man, but there had never been an attraction there. "I mean, he’s comfortable around us because he’s known us forever, but you put him around an attractive stranger, he clams up. It’s kind of cute, kind of funny, but he hasn’t had a lot of relationships because of it.” It was weird to think such a good looking man would shy up in front of women. In her experience men who looked like Drew were overconfident and well aware of their looks and often used it to their advantage. It was frustrating at times. Many of them were pigs, or the ones who had approached Maureen had been at least. She also found it odd that he would see her as sister like when she saw him as a complete stranger. Again she had to remind herself that he had many memories of her that she didn't share. Such an odd situation!
“But maybe you’re right, it might be best not to date him.” She smiled back and nodded. Dating anyone right now was probably not in her best interest, even someone as wonderful seeming as Drew. “I shouldn’t keep them waiting out in the cold, though. I’ll talk to you tomorrow and see if we can set up some time so I can show you the city before you go. Places we used to go and places I’ve come to love and I think you would like. Would you like to do that?” She nodded enthusiastically. "Would I!" She gushed, clasping her hands together. "That would be wonderful, Maxi! I'd love to see the more of the city." It was she who reached out with the embrace this time, wrapping her arms around the woman who looked so much like she did. "Thank you again for tonight. The boys are great, and I can't wait to talk to you tomorrow." She pulled back genuinely feeling better about this whole sister thing, and she was excited to call her parents and tell them. They had been excited about all of this news! "Drive safe, tell the boys I hope to see them again soon."

“Would I!” Maxi grinned, so excited that her sister was excited to tour the city! “That would be wonderful, Maxi! I’d love to see more of the city!” Maureen’s hands were clasped together in excitement and Maxi giggled. Her sister reached out for her and she stepped into her arms, wrapping her own arms around the woman’s neck and grinning so wide. She loved being able to hug her big sister! “Thank you again for tonight. The boys are great, and I can’t wait to talk to you tomorrow.” Maxi waved her hand playfully. “Oh, it was no problem! We had a blast! And I look forward to hearing from you! Tomorrow you should definitely come by to look at pictures and watch movies too. It’ll be so much fun!” With a big smile and a little giggle, she turned to leave. “Drive safe, tell the boys I hope to see them again soon.” She nodded for her sister and waved again. “I will! I’m sure they want to see you again soon too!” With a big smile and a blown kiss, she walked back towards the car.
Her eyes fell on Drew leaning against the car and Maxi had an idea. She legitimately had an appointment with Gertie for the day after tomorrow to take notes for the teleconference Snow and Gertie were having. Maybe Maxi could suggest that day for the tour…and send Drew in her stead. The idea brought a wicked little grin to Maxi’s lips, feeling quite mischievous indeed. Drew caught her eye as she walked to the car, giving her a suspicious look. “What are you thinking about?” She shrugged. “Just my boyfriend.” Drew covered his ears and shook his head frantically. “Okay, stop! I don’t want to hear!” Maxi laughed and unlocked the car, climbing in for the ride home.
