Griffin looked around before going around the curtain. He felt like someone would stop them, but no one did. Anyone who would knew they worked there, so it wasn't a big deal. The man folded his arms and waited for Claire to pull the contents of her bra out on the cart. He raised a brow and started reaching for her things. "Here, Let me put these in my pocket for safe keeping. We don't want you to forget anything in our hurry." He explained, not wanting Claire to leave anything behind. It would be her luck that she would drop her ID at the scene of the crime! He didn't really wait for her to give her approval as he slid the items one by one into his trouser pockets.
"Fire!" The sudden yell made his heart stop for a moment. Fire? Now? He turned his head feeling a little panicked until he heard Claire speak up. "That's our cue!". Their cue? Was it Cheyenne? Griffin hoped that the girl hadn't actually started a fire in the museum. The though made him feel sick; all those precious artifacts just gone! It was one thing for the Avisaille remains to go up in smoke, but the entire museum would be such a waste. A true shame! But Cheyenne wouldn't put anyone in danger. She wasn't a moron.
Griffin could hear the people just outside the curtain start to panic, the sound of feet shuffling and glasses clanking were loud and resounding through the large room. "You weren't kidding about your sister being able to make a distraction." He looked at the skeleton and then Flynn, offering a weak smile. They were nearly done!
Griffin watched Claire open the case, his heart hammering so hard and so fast that he wasn't sure the people outside wouldn't be able to hear it despite the commotion. "Here, let me help you with that." He said softly, reaching up over Claire, trying to assist her. Claire had a tendency yo be a little on the klutzy side, and he didn't want her to accidentally drop the bones. Plus, they were heavy. Too heavy for even him to probably lift up on his own, but together they would be able to do it no problem.

"Cheyenne's smarter than she looks." Claire told Griffin about her sister when he spoke about her and the distraction. Although Claire didn't always agree with Cheyenne's methods or some of the things she did, she couldn't deny that she could be a genius if she wanted to be. It just wasn't often enough in her opinion.
Claire tried to reach for the skeleton and hoist it up off of its' stand by herself and let out a groan as she tried to lift it but nothing happened! It was heavier than it looked! Fortunately Griffin started to help her and between the two of them they were able to get it up and out of the display case. She ended up kicking the small waste basket off of the cart rack and then bent her knees, trying not to drop the bones on the ground. "This is harder than it looks," She said and was already huffing and puffing out of breath.
It took them a little longer than she wanted them to but finally they managed to squeeze the skeleton onto the cart, folding its arm and leg bones and making it bend in an awkward way. It was the bones that had been part of the wings that were the most difficult. Claire couldn't help but stare at where the bones had connected into the spine. She was expecting to see they were separate bones, but it seemed like they were actually together as one! And it wasn't a tacky mending job, either.
She was crouched there and actually reached out and ran her fingers along the pieces that were connected, her eyes wandering over it curiously and with awe. "..you really are an Avisaille.." Claire said under her breath not thinking much about it before she stood up and took a step back so that Flynn could take the cart.
"Just turn left and it's right behind that corner over there; an exit." Claire pointed in the direction that Flynn had to head in and then stared at the cart for a moment longer before turning to look at Griffin.
"Maybe we should -" Claire started to jab her thumbs towards the curtain as if she were gesturing for the other side of the curtain. "--we should probably go. There's a fire and all." She said as if she were shocked but she was only playing around.

Flynn wanted to help get the skeleton out but there wasn't enough room for all three of them to grab it and she knew she'd only be in the way. "Oh, do be careful!" She said with worry, hoping they didn't do too much damage to the skeleton, but if they did then she would understand. Under the circumstances they had to just get it out of there as quickly as possible.
Once the avisaille was tucked away safely she looked at Griffin with relief on her face and even gave a little smile knowing they were almost done when she heard Claire say something but she didn't quite catch what it was. She thought she heard her say 'avisaille' but she wasn't certain enough to ask her what she meant. She was going to ask her what she had said but the girl stood up and started to speak to her.
"Just turn left and it's right behind that corner over there; an exit."
Flynn nodded and did what she was instructed to do, grabbing hold of the handle on the cart and steering it in the direction she was told to go. She gave the two of them a little wave and offered them a silent good luck that she mouthed before turning the corner and almost running straight into the door.
She had to walk around the cart to get to the door and used her back to push the door open and pulled the cart with her. Her leg stretched out and her foot kept the door ajar as she tried to get the cart all the way outside. When she looked up she noticed she was in the back alley and it was quite dark.
Flynn looked up and down both ways before she started to push the cart towards westward. It was a bit of a struggle since the concrete was uneven and had massive dips. Twice she had to lift the cart up so that it wouldn't tip into a pothole.
She saw a pair of lights turning on not far from her and her heart skipped a beat as she looked up. Flight crossed her mind when the door opened, but it quickly disappeared when she saw a familiar face pop out behind the vehicle door. It was Cheyenne! Everything was going according to plan!

Griffin did his part in hoisting the skeleton up and out of the case. So far everything was going as planned! It was heavy, but much lighter than a normal skeleton would be considering the slightly hollowed bones. Even with less bone they were still heavy. He aided Claire in getting it under the cart and then stood up, wanting to get a move on, but Claire lingered down on the ground.
He watched as she gentle caressed the bones as if it were a wounded animal she was attempting to mend. His eyes followed her hand and then he looked at her face. There was wonder in her eyes and he saw her mutter something to the remains. Had she just called him an Avisaille?
Griffin gulped and his eyes widened in shock. No.. she probably hadn't. Only the Avisaille really knew they were called that, and likely the other Guardians who had been taught what they were. The public didn't know which meant...was Claire a Guardian? The sheer though made his heart leap. Could she be one of them after all? He had seen her in a swimsuit at the beach so clearly she was neither Avisaille or Gargoyle, which meant she could potentially be a Therianthrope or a Blurr. That is, of course, if she were a Guardian. There was the off chance that he had simply seen and heard her wrong. Maybe deep down he had wanted her to be a Guardian so that this entire situation could be less awkward, for if she were one, he could admit that he, too, was a Guardian.
He was brought back to reality when she directed Flynn away to finish executing the plan, while they were to leave like everyone else. "--we should probably go. There's a fire and all.". Griffin nodded and reached for her hand, tugging her cautiously back out into the open. People were still in the room, but they were all trying to leave. The smoke had seeped into the room but it didn't smell like fire as it should have. He moved quickly with Claire in tow, looking to her occasionally as he led her towards the exit.
"Claire?" He asked finally, swallowing nervously. "What was it you had called the man?" He asked skeptically, looking her in the eye and wanting to see her reaction. "You called him something... What was it?"
Permission to power play granted by Claire.

Even in heels Claire could run through the museum with ease. One of the things about being a Therian and having genetics that were so close in comparison to a cheetah was that she loved to run. So being on the move and rushing was natural for her. She made a mental note to get up early tomorrow so she could fit in a jog before she had to be at the museum. She knew she'd probably have to be at the museum early, too. Especially once they figured out that their main event suddenly vanished from the museum.
Once they were closer to the exit she pushed her hair away from her face and waved some of the smoke that was following them trying to clear the air. She had to spit out a couple of strands of hair that had gotten into her mouth. She still held onto Griffin's hand so that they wouldn't be separated when she noticed him looking at her and then he spoke.
"You called him something... What was it?"
Before her mind had time to catch up with her mouth she uttered "Avisaille." Then as if her mind had finally decided to join the conversation her eyes grew wide and she felt the color draining from her face. "I-I mean Avian! I totally made up that other word!" Shit! She mentally swore at herself although she was giving her best fake chuckle and looking around trying to gather her thoughts.
"I..." For once in her life Claire McLeester was so uncomfortable that she was at a loss for words. She shut her mouth and averted her eyes away from him. He couldn't possibly know what an Avisaille was, could he?

"Avisaille." The word was clear and simple. There was no denying what she had said at that moment. Avisaille. She had known the man was an Avisaille. There was no doubt in his mind now; Claire was either a Guardian, or knew of someone who was who had confided in her their secret. It all began to click together in his mind. There was a reason she wanted to get rid of the remains after all, a reason, very likely, similar to his. She didn't want the word to get out. She needed to protect the Guardians and their secret just as much as he did.
When she tried and cover up her story he nodded slowly, unsure how to feel. There was secrecy in being a Guardian. You didn't give up the secret lightly. It took a great amount of making sure before that sort of thing was revealed, but he was sure that he wouldn't be able to get her to speak more of it. Not tonight, anyway.
Griffin gulped and watched her carefully. She was silenced by his question, something he wasn't sure had ever happened. She hadn't meant to spill, and he had no idea what to make of it all. Should he tell her it was alright? He knew too? Or should he allow her to keep her secret since she was very apparently distraught over what she had said.
Griffin decided to do what he always did with Claire; try and make her feel better. "Avisaille.." He repeated, feeling sad that he had to pretend for her sake, but knowing there was no other. "That's a clever name for him." He said, trying to sound reassuring, like he had no idea what he was talking about. "I like it." A part of him cried a little inside as he spoke. He wanted to know more, but he had to fight his nature of wanting to learn things. This would take time, and now was not the time to try and start to find out more. She needed to calm down and they needed to get out of there so they wouldn't be seen as suspicious.
"Come on, let's hurry up. Cheyenne and Flynn should be on their way to Megsy Isle by now."

Claire couldn't believe she'd actually said Avisaille! Next she'd be telling him that she was a Therianthrope! Lucky for her the banquet hadn't landed on a full moon, but it looked like there would be a full one soon. The stress of them stealing the Avisaille skeleton and the failed kiss must have been just enough to make her not think before she spoke. "Avisaille.."Claire grimaced a bit but tried to keep a smile on her face when he said the name. If anyone found out that she went around telling people about the Avisailles then she'd be in big trouble! She just hoped he didn't go around saying the name now. That's just what she needed, him to go tell Flynn and then Flynn to tell someone else and then suddenly the whole city would know their real name! "I like it."The fact that Griffin liked it was even worse! If he liked it he was more likely to remember it! She had to talk to Cheyenne. As soon as they got to Megsy Isle she was going to pull her sister away and she was going to tell her what happened. Maybe they could fix it somehow? Not that she thought there was a way to. "Come on, let's hurry up. Cheyenne and Flynn should be on their way to Megsy Isle by now."It was like Claire didn't trust herself to open her mouth now. She nodded and followed his lead. She had never been as quiet as she was now in her entire life. That's how she knew it was bad. Thread Complete!
