“Whaaat? I LOVE Halloween! It’s one of my favorite holidays. And staying inside with scary movies is a perfect Halloween.” She had to admit, that did make it a good Halloween. She was sure she would have fun with Sebastian, too. “Well if you don’t mind, I’m SO bringing Lily by and you better have some amazing candy or you might find something spoiled in your mailbox,” Aly smiled and nodded, "I'll have a candy for her and a thermos full of vodka and orange juice for you." She joked, thinking that sounded like a fine idea about now, too. “...seriously?” Aly looked up wondering if maybe she had said something wrong about the screwdriver, but then she noticed the stain on her bosses shirt from the yogurt. “This looks new.. anyway -- I’m going to use your bathroom real quick. I have to head back to the store soon.”
Aly's eyes practically bulged from her head when Cass said she was heading to the bathroom and Aly suddenly stood up. "Wait!" She insisted, knowing she sounded like a complete spaz. "Uhm.. This is going to sound terrible.." She started, trying to think of something good off the top of her head, not wanting Cass to head down towards her bathroom. "You see, uhh.. well I..." What the hell could she say to keep her boss from going in the bathroom? "I went out to eat last night and it gave me a stomach ache and I sort of backed the toilet up and.. it's just a mess in there." She bit her lip, grossing herself out. "I know, totally sick, but you can't go in there because uhh.. because maintenance is coming to fix the toilet and.. you know what? I have a cloth in the kitchen, we'll get you all cleaned up." Aly grabbed Cassidy's arm and tugged her towards the kitchen to help her clean herself up.
Once safely away from the bathroom and in the kitchen, Aly went through her drawers and pulled out a kitchen towel and wet it, offering it to Cass to wipe the stain clean. "Yeah, sorry about that. Totally embarrassing.." She bit her lip and looked away, not wanting to reveal she was lying somehow. "Figures the one time I get unexpected company." She looked back at Cass and offered a nervous apologetic smile, shrugging. Hopefully she would buy that..

”Wait!” Cassidy nearly jumped out of her skin when Aly called out to her, looking over her shoulder and staring at her friend with a startled look. ”Uhm.. This is going to sound terrible..” What exactly was she trying to say? ”You see, uhh.. well I...” She didn’t know what Aly was trying to say and she grew impatient and just started to head for the bathroom again. ”I went out to eat last night and it gave me a stomach ache and I sort of backed the toilet up and.. it’s just a mess in there.” That made her stop in her tracks and do a one-eighty on her heels and stare at Aly like she’d just told her she was hiding a corpse in her bathroom. ”I know, totally sick, but you can’t go in there because uhh.. because maintenance is coming to fix the toilet and.. you know what? I have a cloth in the kitchen, we’ll get you all cleaned up.” Before she knew it Aly was pulling her toward the kitchen.
“Okay, okay!” Cassidy followed Aly into the kitchen now only mildly disgusted by what Aly told her. “I have a daughter. I’ve dealt with enough crap and throw up to last a lifetime,” she told her jokingly, holding her hand out for the dampened towel then dabbing it against the front of her top to try and bring the stain out. ”Yeah, sorry about that. Totally embarrassing.. Figures the one time I get unexpected company.” Cassidy frowned slightly, dabbing at the top roughly. “No no no it’s all my fault. I should have called and asked if it was okay to stop by. Next time I’ll call.” Things were different in Scriptor Bay than they were in New York City...

What the hell was taking so long? He didn’t want to be stuck in Alyson’s room all day long when there were plenty of other things he could be doing. Like ripping her clothes off and having his way with his curly haired beauty. Why wasn’t she doing a better job of getting rid of her boss? She knew he was stuck in there and that he wasn’t going to be too pleased when he was finally let out. He didn’t do very well at listening to what other people told him to do but he was doing his best to stay put. But standing there waiting just wasn’t doing it for him anymore and he needed to find something to keep him busy.
Sebastian moved to Alyson’s desk and sifted through the school books that she had trying to find something that might peak his interest. But her books in mathematics were hardly interesting and he’d lived through some of her history books, the parts he didn’t live through he already knew about. He saw the power light for the computer was on so he pulled out the chair and took a seat. Pressing the on button the monitor hummed to life. There were a few things that he figured he could shop online for.. clothes.. more towels for the bathroom.. or maybe he could find something for Alyson. He’d showered her with presents since he started staying with her but the two of them both knew that they were more for him than her, but she would be able to keep everything when he finally left. They never discussed when Sebastian would have to leave. Alyson hadn’t attempted to kick him out yet.
But what did you get the girl you were sleeping with and lived with but wasn’t a girlfriend? She didn’t own a lot of jewelry and the few that she did have was cheap. But she didn’t wear jewelry enough and he thought she looked better without it. Makeup? That wasn’t her thing either. She had a lot of music and she enjoyed drawing.. maybe he could find something that she was interested in.. something unique that she would love. He leaned forward and placed his elbow on the desk but it slipped on a piece of paper and collided with the spine of one of her books. The book then slid off the desk and he dove for it but slammed his knee into the corner of the desk when he turned too quick. And while trying not to make a peep the book clattered to the floor and he let out a sharp grunt. “Shit!”

“No no no it’s all my fault. I should have called and asked if it was okay to stop by. Next time I’ll call.” Alyson bit her lip and then shrugged. "No, really it's fine." She insisted, though in a way it sort of wasn't. If she'd had more time to hide Sebastian than she would! Or maybe she would have just gone out to meet Cass at the restaurant. Maybe she would suggest that to her next time. Unless she just showed up..
Her thoughts were distracted when she heard something crash to the ground in the other room. Aly froze for a minute, gulping. She was going to KILL him! She let out a forced sort of laugh and shrugged her shoulders. "The neighbors can be so loud." She said rolling her eyes, hoping Cass would buy it. "Being on the bottom floor is great but sometimes when the neighbors upstairs get stupid.." She shrugged again, trying to brush it all off. Would Cass know that the sound had come from insider her apartment?
"Hey, uhh.. I'm going to just go.. I'm gonna go grab my phone. I left it in the bedroom and my mom was going to call me this morning so.. just in case she calls. She's still a little nervous about me being here, yah know. With the whole, uh.. kidnappy thing.." She licked her lips and held her finger up. "I'll be back in a sec." She scooted around her boss and rushed to her room, opening the door and seeing Sebastian at the computer, her book on the floor. "What the hell are you doing in here, practicing to be in stomp?!" She hissed, glaring at him. Was he shopping online? Of course he was. Sebastian loved to spend money more than anyone she knew. "Please.. just.. just be quiet and I swear, whatever you want, and for the record," She added, giving him an annoyed look, "I don't do everything you want anyway, so.. so I can withhold or.." Or what? She couldn't think of anything else! "Just be quiet, okay?" She commanded, grabbing her phone.

Cassidy could tell by Alyson’s expression that it was most definitely not okay. She’d be sure to call and ask for permission next time. Aly clearly preferred her privacy over giving a warm welcome to her friends, which was unlike the way that Cass had been but she could respect the girl’s wishes and she’d call ahead of time or ask her to meet up someplace instead. She went back to dabbing at the smudge on her top and keeping her eyes fixed on what she was doing so she didn’t have to look at Alyson. She felt stupid for coming over now and thought that maybe she got the wrong idea about how much of friends her and Aly actually were.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a banging noise that made her jump, looking around to find where the noise had come from. It sounded like it was just a room away.. ”The neighbors can be so loud.” She looked at Aly with confusion. That was her neighbors?! ”Being on the bottom floor is great but sometimes when the neighbors upstairs get stupid..” It didn’t sound like it came from upstairs though! “Are you sure nothing fell in another room? It sounded like it was just a wall away.” Then again what would she know? It had been a long time since she lived in an apartment complex with that sort of problem.
”Hey, uhh.. I’m going to just go.. I’m gonna go grab my phone. I left it in the bedroom and my mom was going to call me this morning so.. just in case she calls. She’s still a little nervous about me being here, yah know. With the whole, uh.. kidnappy thing..” It wasn’t like her place was that big, she couldn’t hear her phone ringing out there? ”I’ll be back in a sec.” Cass nodded and ran the towel under the faucet again and got back to rubbing. Lucky for her it wasn’t going to leave a giant stain or a stain at all. Now all she had was a big wet spot on her top and she was going to have to get it dry before she headed back to the store. Probably better to head back to work sooner than later.
She grabbed a dry corner and brushed it up against the wet spot but it wasn’t going to dry it fast enough. She was going to need a faster method or else she was going to have to go back to work like this. A hair dryer! Aly had to have a hair dryer, what with all that curly hair that she had? She’d gone to the bedroom to get her phone, right? The bathroom was off limits and that was probably where the hair dryer was so she’d just go and ask her for the hair dryer and then maybe she’d let her plug it in an outlet in the kitchen. “Hey Aly?” She headed out to the hallway and down towards the bedroom. “Do you have a hair dryer that I could use real quick and then I’ll get out of your hai--” Cassidy stopped dead in the doorway of the bedroom. Aly wasn’t alone. She couldn’t believe the familiar face that she saw there with the girl.. none other than her kidnapper.

Sebastian was trying to pick up the books that just fell off the floor when he heard the familiar footsteps. ”What the hell are you doing in here, practicing to be in stomp?!” He stood up from the computer chair and turned to look at Alyson and boy did she look pissed. “It wasn’t intentional,” he muttered back quietly, wondering why she bothered to come in here to tell him to be quiet. He already knew that he had to be quiet and he was trying! It was just a lot harder than it looked. ”Please.. just.. just be quiet and I swear, whatever you want, and for the record, I don’t do everything you want anyway, so.. so I can withhold or..” Or? Her threats were didn’t hold water and even she knew it with the way she just sort of trailed off. ”Just be quiet, okay?”
Sebastian rolled his eyes in the most obvious manner he could. Like he didn’t know to be quiet. “When is she leaving? I don’t like being cooped up like this.” A part of him wanted to find another place to stay just for situations like this. Not that they had a lot of situations like this but it would rather go to his own place than stay cooped up in the bedroom without her there to keep him entertained. “Tell her to leave..” He closed the space between them and reached up to grip her shoulders gently, letting his thumbs move in little circles over each side of her collar bone. “..and then you can show me just how well you can withhold.” He taunted, about to lean forward and plant a kiss on her forehead but the sight in the doorway made him freeze. Her boss decided to show herself around. ”Do you have a hair dryer that I could use real quick and then I’ll get out of your hai--” The day just got a little more interesting..

Her eyes silently pleaded with him as he rolled his own eyes in response. Cass wouldn't be there for much longer, she was nearly scott free! “When is she leaving? I don’t like being cooped up like this. Tell her to leave..” Aly frowned. She had to have a life too, and currently her life consisted of eating, sleeping, school, work and harboring her former captor. She sued to be able to have friends drop in no problem! Sebastian stepped closer, closing the gap between them and she let her disapproval of his words ring clear on her face. The way his firm hands lay delicately on her shoulder made the look in her eyes falter a little, obviously weak to his charm the smug bastard. “..and then you can show me just how well you can withhold.” He teased, and she knew as well as he did that he had won. Sebastian leaned in and she could feel the warm breath on her forehead, but he halted before his lips could meet her waiting skin.
”Do you have a hair dryer that I could use real quick and then I’ll get out of your hai--”
Alyson felt her stomach drop to the floor and she was suddenly nauseous. No.. no this wasn't happening.. No, no, no, NO!! The blond whipped around and stared at her boss wide eyed, who was clearly confused at what she saw. "Uhh.. this.. this isn't what it looks like?" She offered, her voice cracking slightly as she ran a hand through her messy hair and bit her bottom lip, looking back at Sebastian and then Cass. "I can explain!" She insisted looking between the two, horrified at this sort of confrontation. "He's, uhh.. you see.." She bit her bottom lip again not knowing how she could even begin to explain what was going on without sounding like a complete idiot. Cass was going to have her committed! She was going to fire her and have her committed and then call the police on Sebastian, and.. well Aly knew the man sort of deserved that, he did kidnap her after all, but he'd let her go! After beating her.. but he'd turned a new leaf and for the most part was a better man now. He hadn't raised a hand to her since and he was even less demeaning these days, not hushing her like he used to. Not all the time, anyway.
"He's changed!" She suggested knowing how stupid she sounded. She sounded more like a woman defending her abusive husband than the rational young woman she claimed to be.

”Uhh.. this.. this isn’t what it looks like?” The look on Cassidy’s face must have been enough because Alyson was trying to make an excuse already for what she was seeing. Alyson’s captor was right there! In Alyson’s bedroom! With his hands on her and she wasn’t screaming! “Oh really? I’m pretty sure it is what it looks like!” Her shocked look changed to anger pretty quick. Was this girl an idiot?! ”I can explain!” What was there to explain? Cassidy could see that she was hiding the man who held her hostage for weeks in her bedroom. That was why she was acting like she didn’t want Cass there. ”He’s, uhh.. you see..” Alyson was sputtering over her words trying to find the right thing to say but Cass wasn’t going to have any of it. “Who do you think you are coming here? Haven’t you done enough?” She shot with a hard glare at the monster that was standing next to Alyson. Either he had some crazy control over her or Alyson was just a glutton for pain.
”He’s changed!” Cassidy heard enough and shook her head. “No, he hasn’t. Whatever lies he’s feeding you needs to stop! He beat you, Alyson! He held you against your will and hurt you!” In a way she wasn’t angry with Alyson. She was terrified for her, yes, but definitely not mad. She was mad that the beast was there and didn’t look like he was going to leave. He was still just standing there and staring at her like she was the one in the wrong!
“You know what? I’m calling the police! He’s a wanted man and if you’re not going to take care of it then I am!” She snapped, her words directed at Sebastian more than Alyson. She reached into her top (because there was no safer place for a cell phone than in your bra!) and pulled out her phone, pressing a button to make the screen beep to life. That’s when he actually made a move, pushing past Alyson and coming toward Cass. With wide eyes she turned and tried to rush down the hallway but he was faster than her and snatched the phone right out of her hand. It was obvious he wasn’t going to give it back and that’s when Cass started to actually panic. She should have just kept her damn mouth shut. Hell, she should have just STAYED at work! Carter was going to have a heart attack if she told him about today. That was if she was going to get out of there in one piece.

When Alyson tried to explain herself to her boss Sebastian just rolled his eyes. She was in this situation because of him but it was her who decided to come into the room just to scold him for making noise. It wasn’t like he had purposely dropped her books on the floor and then banged his leg into the desk. He wasn’t as graceful as he was when he could turn to stone and a part of him missed it. It was like a long nightmare that he wasn’t ever going to wake up from.
”He’s changed!” Even Sebastian thought Alyson’s cry sounded ridiculous. He hadn’t changed. At least he didn’t think he had but maybe.. he was staying with Alyson and he’d been nicer to her over the last couple of weeks. He treated her better and even helped around the house sometimes. Sometimes. He looked down at her and started to feel a hint of remorse for what he’d done to her. ”No, he hasn’t. Whatever lies he’s feeding you needs to stop! He beat you, Alyson! He held you against your will and hurt you!” Everything that Cassidy was saying was true. Sebastian had tormented Alyson, playing petty games for the sake of his own amusement. He’d put her life in danger not to mention ruined it entirely. But then he stopped his childish behavior and tried to help her rebuild her life. He would sit in the living room or the bedroom while she studied and help her with questions she might have had. Sebastian genuinely cared for this girl now and he would do anything to make sure that she stayed safe except stay away. He couldn’t do that for his own selfish reasons.
”You know what? I’m calling the police! He’s a wanted man and if you’re not going to take care of it then I am!” Now Alyson’s boss was stepping over the line. She could yell and call him whatever name she wanted to but to get the police involved was out of the question. Sebastian gave Alyson a light shove with his shoulder to get out of his way and went after Cass. She tried to get away but he was faster, snatching the phone right out of her hand and with a smirk he tightened his grip, watching her expression as he heard the screen crack. If he was at full strength he’d be able to crush it to pieces, but since he wasn’t it took a bit of effort but he did manage to break it. “Are all human women idiots?” He snarled and stepped towards the girl who took a step back which was all he needed to know that he scared her. She may have been Alyson’s boss at work but Sebastian was the one in charge. “You get the police involved then you’re going to put Alyson in the media again. It’s her life you’ll be ruining, not mine.” He was pretty sure Alyson didn’t want to be known as the girl who had been kidnapped then welcomed her captor into her home. She’d be sent straight to the looney bin.

To say Aly was freaking out was an understatement. Cassidy wold never understand and nothing Aly could think to say could fix this situation. Why had she gone in there? She should have left Sebastian alone! It had been idiotic to lead Cass right to him! ”No, he hasn’t. Whatever lies he’s feeding you needs to stop! He beat you, Alyson!" She bit her lip knowing her words rang with truth. He had beaten her.. "He held you against your will and hurt you!” Yeah.. yeah he'd done that, too. What could she say to defend him, though? He'd been an ass, but he was less of one now. He swore not to hurt her again and he'd made good on that promise so far, and she didn't fear he would break it. She knew in his own twisted way that Sebastian genuinely cared for her. She could see it in the way he treated her now, the way he looked at her and touched her, doted on her even if it was mostly out of selfishness. Was he an ideal boyfriend? No, but he wasn't her boyfriend, so that was okay. How could she explain all that to Cass, though? She knew she couldn't. She knew nothing she said would sway her boss in another direction.
”You know what? I’m calling the police!" Her eyes widened and she looked between Cass and Sebastian, who was obviously getting pissed. " He’s a wanted man and if you’re not going to take care of it then I am!” "Cass, wait!" She insisted, trying to stop her friend from doing what was right, but Sebastian was faster, and as usual, willing to physically stop this all from happening. She moved when he pushed past her and watched nervously as her ex-captor moved in on her friend. "Sebastian, don't!" She pleaded, having no idea what he planned to do, but knew it wasn't good. She watched as he grabbed her phone and then heard the gentle crack of it crushing in his fist. This was definitely going poorly..
"Are all human women idiots?” He snarled as he advanced on Cass and Aly felt herself heat at the insult. "Hey!" She objected angrily, coming up behind him to get to Cass. "You get the police involved then you’re going to put Alyson in the media again. It’s her life you’ll be ruining, not mine.” Alyson stopped at his words, not having considered that part. She would get put right back into the papers, something she wasn't at all interested in. Either way, she had to defuse the problem at hand, and worry about herself in the media later. Coming between them Aly turned and shielded her friend from her lover. "Okay, first of all? I'm not an idiot and neither is she, and second of all she does sort of have a reason to want to call the cops. You did kidnap me from her store." She scolded before turning to Cass. "And I know what he's done. He's a dick, but he did let me go and he came back and apologized. For the record it's not like I welcomed him with open arms or anything and I've made it clear that if he lays a hand on me things are going to get messy." She bit her lip and looked anxiously with Cass, trying to make her understand. "I know you think I'm crazy and.. maybe I am.. I don't know, but he's not going to hurt me." She turned and gave Sebastian a hard look. "Right?" She practically growled at him.

”Sebastian, don’t!” Cassidy couldn’t believe her eyes. The monster broke her phone with one hand like it was made out of eggshells. Just how strong is this guy?! ”Are all human women idiots?” ”Hey!” Cassidy should have just stayed at the damn store! Alyson and Sebastian were bickering between the two of them and then turning on her. ”You get the police involved then you’re going to put Alyson in the media again. It’s her life you’ll be ruining, not mine.” She stared at him in disbelief. Not because he was right, which he may have been, but because he seemed to be more concerned about Aly’s well-being than his own. What the hell?!
Cass was getting ready to open her mouth and shout back but Alyson beat her to the punch. ”Okay, first of all? I’m not an idiot and neither is she, and second of all she does sort of have a reason to want to call the cops. You did kidnap me from her store.” Cass nodded fervently and glared at the man with hatred in her eyes. But Alyson wasn’t done speaking. ”And I know what he’s done. He’s a dick, but he did let me go and he came back and apologized. For the record it’s not like I welcomed him with open arms or anything and I’ve made it clear that if he lays a hand on me things are going to get messy.” Cass blinked and slowly looked at Alyson like she’d just started speaking Greek. She was defending him?! Maybe not entirely, but at the same time she still let him stay there with her! Who the hell did that?!
”I know you think I’m crazy and.. maybe I am.. I don’t know, but he’s not going to hurt me.” Alyson had lost her damn mind. She was nuts! ”Right?” The sound of Alyson’s voice had Cassidy raising a brow at her with surprise. Was she the boss of this messed up, batcrap crazy relationship? Sebastian rolled his eyes but it didn’t seem like he was going to say anything anytime soon so she decided now was the chance for her to say something. “What?!” So maybe she could have said something better, but she was still in shock over the fact that Alyson’s captor was there. “Okay hold on!” She put her hands up and glanced between the pair of them her eyes going back and forth. She needed to figure out what to say. Or do. “I think you need to go away.” She took one hand and pointed at Sebastian. Then she pointed at Alyson, giving her the best stern look that she could muster. She’d gotten good at the stern mom look over the last year and a half. “We need to talk.” Cassidy wanted to make sure that Alyson was going to be okay. She needed to know she was sane and not under any sort of duress. If she was of sound mind and making her own choices without being forced to make them, then Cassidy would stick her nose out of her business. But she would hate herself if something happened to this girl because Cass didn’t show any concern. Carter was going to kill her if this kidnapper didn’t first.

”Okay, first of all? I’m not an idiot and neither is she, and second of all she does sort of have a reason to want to call the cops. You did kidnap me from her store.” Sebastian rolled his eyes at Alyson’s words. Maybe he did kidnap her and hold her against her will but it was in the past. She’d get over it eventually. ”And I know what he’s done. He’s a dick, but he did let me go and he came back and apologized. For the record it’s not like I welcomed him with open arms or anything and I’ve made it clear that if he lays a hand on me things are going to get messy.” Again Sebastian rolled his eyes but he kept quiet. Clearly Alyson wasn’t done blabbing on about how she might be crazy and how he wasn’t going to hurt her again. ”Right?” The words were stern but it wasn’t uncommon for him to hear her in this tone. Whenever she was pissed off at him she’d speak to him like that. It made him roll his eyes once more at the girl but kept his mouth shut. He could have words with her later if he felt like it but right now he just wanted to get rid of her nosy boss and make sure she didn’t try to call the police on them. He’d had enough of both the human and gargoyle authorities to last him a good decade. If anyone had lost in this situation it had been him.
Her boss looked like she was going to spaz out the way that he watched Alyson do sometimes and when she sputtered out a ”What?!” his hand shot straight up to his mouth to hide the smile that formed. It was amusing to watch these human girls and the way their brains processed what was happening around them. ”I think you need to go away.” Sebastian realized that Cassidy was pointing at him and his hand dropped back down to his side, watching her with an icy gaze. But she didn’t look at him for long, rounding on Aly next. ”We need to talk.” He didn’t take kindly to orders and he wanted to put her in her place. To tell her she had no business butting in and maybe even smack her across the room. But what he did instead was grit his teeth behind his closed lips and stare at her for a long moment. After a long pause he turned toward Alyson and leaned down to place a quick kiss on her cheek. “I’m going out. Figure this out before I get back.” And with that he turned around and headed straight for the door. He needed to get some air.

“What?!” For a moment Alyson had actually felt a little confident but then Cass turned that all around with that one simple word. It wasn't the word really, but how she said it. Her cheeks flushed slightly and she turned to her boss, unsure what she would do. “Okay hold on!” Cass put her hands up and looked between Bastian and Aly, which made Aly even more self conscious. “I think you need to go away.” The woman said to her employees ex captor and Aly already knew that wouldn't sit well with Bastian. She looked at him and caught an elaborate little eye roll before looking back at Cass. “We need to talk.” Sebastian didn't look pleased with Cassidy's demands but he didn't seem like he was going to argue. Alyson felt lost stuck in the middle of the two of them, not knowing how to remedy this very awkward, very strange situation.
After a pregnant pause Sebastian turned to Aly and leaned in, placing a delicate kiss on her cheek which grew hot and pink. “I’m going out. Figure this out before I get back.” He demanded softly and Alyson knew deep down she would be wise not to cross him. She wanted him to stick around, despite everything, and hoped that Cass wouldn't ruin things. She knew it was all screwed up, but maybe if she just explained to Cass what had happened? "Bye.." She replied in a hushed voice, almost as though she didn't want Cass to overhear her gentleness.
Aly watched as Sebastian left and then with a big gulp turned her attention back to Cass. "Alright, I know this all seems a little crazy but hear me out!" She insisted, holding her hands up there in her bedroom. "He's not that bad. I mean.. yeah, he did kidnap me but a lot's happened since then! He's different, he's apologized and he's changed and.. I know that sounds really stupid but I.." She bit her bottom lip and shook her head, feeling afraid tears might fall. "I think I sort of like him. And I think he likes me, and.. he's not my boyfriend but.. I don't know." She gulped and turned away. "And, uhh.. I'll pay for your phone.." She added more softly.
