There was nothing like getting frisky in the shower. It made for a fun time and an easy clean up, and Cass was all about an easy clean up! The water felt nice until it started to grow cold and Carter washing her off felt even better. Her muscles had started to ache from traveling but now those aches were almost entirely gone. "You smell better now." Cass kept the smile to herself, not wanting him to see that she too thought what he said was amusing.
"I should keep you in here until the water is ice. For saying what you did to me.." She had a feeling that Carter wouldn't let go of the hurtful words she'd spat at him so easily, and she didn't blame him. If he would have said those things to her she probably would have gone longer without speaking to him than he did with her. They were both stubborn and could carry a grudge when they needed to and although she hated when he did it to her she knew she deserved it and would be patient this time. "I thought we were done." He went on to explain how he thought she'd take their daughter away and she turned to look at him, ready to tell him that would never happen but he wasn't finished. "You should get some rest."
Once the water was off Cass took the towel from Carter and wrapped it around her body, tucking the corner in just under her arm to keep it in place. She grabbed another towel and wrapped it around her hair so that it could dry it faster and also so it wouldn't drip down on her shoulders. "I'll put you to bed." Was he not planning on going to bed as well? She'd seen the laptop was out which meant he probably had some work to do. Even though he was across the country he was still hard at work and she admired that about him, especially since she was the same way. They had more in common than she'd originally thought they did the first time they met.
She'd been such a pigheaded girl and him a total playboy trying to pick her up. They'd managed to bump into each other again and after that their fate was sealed apparently. They'd gotten themselves into more trouble than she could have ever dreamed of and they'd grown closer than she imagined they would have.
"I'd never leave," Cassidy piped up after the long period of silence, breaking it up and her voice actually startling herself with how high pitched it seemed to come out. She cleared her throat, she hadn't done much talking in the last half hour, and spoke again. "I'd never leave you, sweetie. And I would never take Lilly away from you. She needs her father and I need my husband." She could tell from is face that he was still a little upset and she wasn't going to try and push. So headed into the bedroom and started to dig around in her bag for some clean clothes to wear to bed. She was exhausted and debated just going to bed in the towel. Wouldn't be the first time.
"If you have more work to do will you sit in bed and do it? I'll be out as soon as my head hits the pillow anyway."
